Knowing nothing about him just wondered why he is so good. ATB

{Ed034's Note - well respected within the game, is on the FA board, did a good job at villa (contrary to what some villa fans thought, who'm blamed him for things which Lerner did) and everyone that meets him says he is a genuine nice bloke.
Will bring some calm and guidance behind the scenes

6.) 28 Aug 2014
Solid, decent appointment but has a reputation in the game as "yes" man.

His main strengths are his ability to generate commercial revenues - pretty important cog when it comes to fighting financial fair play.

Thanks Ed, sounds just what we need, i'm worried its all going too well. Must be the best start to a season since 1978 all things considered.

{Ed034's Note - we've certainly had worse

8.) 29 Aug 2014
Actually, it's the best start since 2006/07 season in League One when we won 6 and drew 1 of the 1st 7 league games (though we did lose in the league cup 1st round). Not to be gloomy but you'll recall we went in to the play-offs that season and won the 1st leg 2-0 away to Yeovil. . . . .

9.) 29 Aug 2014
I said 'all things considered' not just referring to results on the pitch but everything about the club, i'm aware its not the best start points wise, but all things considered I reckon it is

From old accounts on Villa forums, he sounds like a good guy and, looking at his past experience and the situation he's coming into, he's probably a good choice. Apparently very highly regarded by renowned no-nonsense control-freak Martin O'Neill and he's young for a role like this too (which I like).
