Last season before injurys we went 16 games unbeaten. With a five man midfield of Reid lansbury Vaughen pato mackie with lone striker that varied between cox Henderson Halford who were given loads chances to score but dint. But we had loads goals coming from all midfield.
Who thinks this will work when Reid is fit. And britt up front who won't miss chances our forwards missed last season.
I think lansbury Vaughen or tesche with Reid pato Antonio.
What's your thoughts?

I have said the same thing quite a lot but people still bang on about 4-4-2 and we must have 2 upfront! Football has moved on from 4-4-2 but it seems most fans opinions have not!

Absolutely spot on I had this same conversation with Greg Halford at the beginning of the season. Last season, before injuries, we were already a nailed on top six team and in my opinion we were only missing a finisher with pace and power. The general feeling between us was that SP had made too many changes too quickly, as everybody knows, never works.

The difference is, the only person willing to shoot and have a go is Tesche, and Lansbury on odd occasions.

We are constantly looking for an easy pass>pass>goal, and as a result we end up either losing possession or they have 9 behind the ball at all times.

We need to counter hard, and take risks, because a lot of the goals we have conceded have been from missed opportunities on our end.

At start of season fryatt was injured so we was playing this formation but then Reid Cohen got injured 😁😁😁

Its not the formation that's important but more the players used and style of play, eg if you play 5 across the middle but one of them is a forward then its not far off the same thing, it depends on tactics,
and fluidity is the key

I agree with marko that if you are playing reid you do need a five man midfield my only problem with Britt upfront on his own is that he can't hold the ball up
