Dougie has said he didn't offer hendo a deal as it might hamper walkers progress!some good forward thinking there from dougie, taking a player on trail that he didn't need.didnt he know this before?

No matter what the current manager says or does you can rely the regulars on here to kick him where it hurts. The posters on here didn't used to be this negative. What ever happened to positive fans?

You can turn this into a negative but surely its a good thing?? Hendo could have been a stop gap but df said that he feels within a few months walker will be a better player than hendo and will gain more by being more closely involved with the first team. The man can't win can he? He looks at experience and gets slated and even when he evaluates the situation and looks to bring on the youth he still gets slated! There's no pleasing some fans.

Walker and hendo are completely different players so why would signing hendo hamper walker as they would play together rather than hendo playing in stead of walker.didnt he know this before he took him on trial?if hendo was hampering walker that would mean hendo is better than walker and walkers chances would be limited so if he's better why not sign him?

Id say if df had walker and hendo on the bench with 20 mins to go most people would go for hendo (strength and experience) so therefore if df doesn't sign hendo its an easier choice - walker is straight in?? Is that really a bad thing???

How would DF know what Henderson was like before he met him/saw him play?

Surely the whole point is to look at all these trial players and assess their overall fitness, level of ability, attitude, philosophy, commitment, age, and if there able to fit into the role you had in mind for them? Only then can you make an informed judgement and comparison against players like walker and how that might work for the future?

You'd all be p155d if DF said we don't need any players and were not even going to look!
It's just window shopping.

Maybe Henderson just wanted to get bladdered and punch people and DF didn't think that was a good influence on the easily lead like Pato? Why have him on trial if we know that's how he is? Some people change from being morons to great people when they grow up.


To me this shows DF is willing to give people a chance and to be honest he has to look through the bargain bin to try and find someone with the right attitude and motivations to spend his resources on.
We can't afford to have passengers but we could do with a one or two old heads or crazy gang hero's who want to play and fight for every ball.

And besides. What's all this talk of 10 grand a week! We talk like it's a given that Henderson would be on 10 k a week? Maybe he's on 5! We shouldn't always assume that we have to blow the whole 10 k on a player?

There is such a thing as getting value for money, even in football.

Henderson would have been on nothing like 5k at Oroent last season,more like 2k so would have been a cheap option to bring in ,nobody likes playing against him ,you need someone like that remember Jason Lee & the Marlon when he was young ,not the best players but a handful !
