There have been coments on here about Smith not being big enough ,he may not be the tallest lad and there is nothing he can do about that but it looks to me he is doing lots of gym work and it looks like it is making him a real imposing figure in between the sticks and adding to his bulk which can only be good for commanding his box , hope we don,t sign somebody,s reserve keeper and push the lad out ,l think he,ll only improve the more he plays especially behind a settled back four.

over the 18 games played seen a massive improvemnent in the young man. his kicking is 1000x better than it was at the start of the season.

Still needs to improve his composure and decision making.

would help if the manager would give up the hope of playing out from the back in dangerous situations.

1 conceded in the last 3, he's good enough for me!

I thought our Jordan was f faultless last night. I've never really understood this lack of height criticism really. Unless you're a giant like big Norman Crossley,Dave Beasant or even going back as far as "Fatty" Lawrence at Liverpool, you can compensate for lack of height in other ways. Our great Peter Shilton was only 6ft but was an incredible athlete and had wall to wall muscles.I have a memory of him being on Blue Peter years ago and doing a training session with Peter Purves and or John Noakes and afterwards remarkably being filmed (waist up pre watershed!)In the showers.Physique like a professional body builder! You wouldn't want to run into him and few did take him on on crosses. Also I can remember his incredible flexibility. In the days when on football duty as a copper you could sit and watch the match from the running track you always thought a high cross would be well out of Shilts reach but he could somehow extend his arms and take the cross at its highest point. Can't ever remember him dropping it or being beaten in the air unless it by the cheating hand of god Maradonna!Likewise think of 5 ft 8 Les Green at Derby? I think Jordan is superb already and will only improve, great credit to the lad!

If you have patience with the youngsters it will pay off, they will still make mistakes, but that's how you learn,Smith and worrall are the future along with Brereton and walker.
Brereton has had a dip in form that's all,the ability remains and you have to remember he burst on the scene and got into the England team and did us proud along with worrrall.
He hasn't had a close season break as such, this wi be a learning season for him and he'll come through it a better player.
Just keep the faith with him and look what the boys out on loan are doing, getting valuable experience by playing week in and out and I have great hopes for appiah very talented lad.
Future is very bright.

Well said FF,I thoroughly agree. It's not just the Academy lads getting first team action it's the message it sends to those next in line to make the step up also.
