You can't blame him for wanting to play in the prem, so if he wants to go, then let him. I agree we need to get a good price for him, so its a shame more than 1 club isn't interested, so we could play one off against another. We've done all we can to keep him by offering a new contract. From memory, we only paid £1m for him, so the £3.5m rumored would be a good return, but shy of what most of us think he's worth.
We've brought in 9 players or so who in SP's eyes are better (or have the potential to be) than we had at the club. We have to let some go to make space. can't imagine Cox or Mackie being happy sitting on the bench all season which would dampen moral for them and the squad. If we get the lad from SW, there is still the loan window to get a forward and winger. The prem teams are yet to name their 25 man squad so I hope there will be some gems up for grabs then.
Not surprised by this and Ed says, they've been available all Summer. If they didn't feature in SP's plans, and we have to presume they dont, then shouldn't cause to much disruption to the first team. Even without these 2, we have a decent enough squad.
