I don't believe a man of our owners stature would allow a couple of players not guaranteed to have futures in the team, whoever the manager is, to undermine his chosen Manager. My theory is that MON would not toe the line. Choice of players leaving, coming etc. Would also explain Roy K leaving as he hasn't walked into a role yet. The new manager is connected to the big agent man and did well to negotiate and sign a contract within 20 mins of the sacking. can't wait for the new season. COYR!

I read somewhere Roy K left when he did so it would not interrupt Pre-season or even the start of the season. I'm probably wrong here but i'll bet you'll find Roy K will have a job sooner rather than later.

If towing the line means doing what the owner wants, the implication is that the owner not the manager knows what is best for the team and the club. In my opinion the owner needs to let the manager manage and support him above the players and their petty little squabbles and views. Marinakis is no better than Al Hasawi, and we'll end up in exactly the same place again.

Bezman, RK's departure was stage managed imo. Unless it's tv work, I see no job offers in football.

Scouseduckred, Do you know that for a fact? Whatever is written in the press should be taken with a pinch of salt until its unveiled but i'm pretty sure he wants to get back into management (and no i'm don't know for certain) at least that's what RK has said in the past.

What if RK was offered the opportunity to replace MON? If he was then perhaps that's why he, understandably, chose to exit stage left and Mendes came up with Lamouchi.
