Bridcutt signed for Lincoln city.

1.) 08 Aug 2020 06:47:08
He was out of contract.

07 Aug 2020 17:02:21
Looks like we're after a Greek striker, Fotis Ioannidis, 5 Goals in 20 games. If we do does this signal our intent to storm the Championship?

1.) 07 Aug 2020 18:50:01
Greeks are saying this lad is signing for panathanaikos.

2.) 07 Aug 2020 19:58:20
Hope he does and stays well away from The City Ground! Looks like more of the same crap if this happens.

3.) 07 Aug 2020 23:11:26
I dunno, he looks decent, tall, good feet, can run with the ball and only 20.

4.) 08 Aug 2020 12:24:54
What about walker got pace good feet never given a opportunity a sub here and there only get the best out of em if given a run of games.

5.) 08 Aug 2020 18:15:00
Totally agree Dan, Tyler has proved he knows how to finish and deserves his chance. The Greek lad has not pulled up many trees, forgive the pun, in the Greek second tier, so let's keep it in the family and give him a run, could be right there under our nose!

01 Aug 2020 22:50:36
Rumour/ newspaper gossip that AC Milan after Matty Cash. Pinch of salt maybe needed.

1.) 02 Aug 2020 09:27:36
Southampton 12 mil bid.

2.) 02 Aug 2020 11:37:49
Let’s start the bidding at 15m, he is going to move so let’s not have our pants pulled down, and make a sell on clause part of any deal.

3.) 02 Aug 2020 13:14:49
AC Milan looking at Serge Aurier at Spurs according to Sky Sports. They seem to be more reliable than newspapers and social media.

27 Jul 2020 16:06:44
So our illustrious DoF is going to be supported by the Crown Prince of Monaco from now on according to Newspaper Gossip. no doubt that will be the perfect solution to all our recruitment and retention problems.
The club is in danger of falling into a French Farce.

1.) 27 Jul 2020 18:26:31
Just what we need on our recruitment team, a 27 year old royal with 5 year’s experience. Go get who ever does the job at Peterborough and Brentford. Or bring in Pearce and let him do it.

2.) 27 Jul 2020 22:15:56
Can't understand what marinakis is trying to achieve, its obvious that
Anigo and Modesta are crap at their jobs, they don't need help they need sacking for bringing endless crap to the club.
Da costa
All crap i rest my case.

3.) 28 Jul 2020 10:04:09
I quite liked Milosovic in fairness. Thought he was a solid CB. Da Costa has showed glimpses of what he can do, I feel he just needs a solid pre season to be fully integrated and then get a run of games. Think there’s a good player in fairness. Silva as well I feel like he’s a good player just a little too lightweight, needs to play with more confidence like he does when we’re in winning positions. If he plays with confidence we have a player that can unlock defences and get lots of assists.

The rest I do agree on.

4.) 28 Jul 2020 10:37:23
What about the other fourteen? 😁😁.

5.) 28 Jul 2020 11:20:39
with the exception of Silva and da Costa, they're all rubbish.

6.) 28 Jul 2020 12:59:02
What's the difference between cheap crap and expensive crap? = Carvalho.

7.) 28 Jul 2020 14:31:03
Don’t think Bostock has had a decent chance to be fair.

8.) 28 Jul 2020 14:47:54
Bsered for some reason ff79 gives carvallho a free pass, he’s one of the most expensive disasters transfer wise in the clubs history, up there with silenzi as mammoth mistake been here 2seasons, had about 4 decent games but some on here still go on about him being some sort of answer to our problems.

9.) 28 Jul 2020 15:54:02
Personally i would rather he played than silva he's the best of a bad bunch of midfielders.
Like I've said stevie the blame lies with recruitment, out of all the Portuguese players we've bought in only figs and Ribeiro are worthy of wearing the shirt.
Somedo is valued at €25 million thank god we didn't sign him or gongalves we'd be deep in it.
Sacking the whole recruitment is the only answer or we will get 3 more benfica kids on loan a few journey men and that's it.

10.) 28 Jul 2020 16:18:54
Ff79 he’s actually weaker on the ball than silva and that’s saying something,

11.) 28 Jul 2020 16:32:41
But he can't create more and score more.
The midfielders all need replacing.
Watson too old sow injury prone silva and cavs not enough quality to be regular no tens yeats just a grafter johnson not ready or not good enough.

12.) 28 Jul 2020 16:49:57
Ff79 your absolutely correct the recruitment has been abysmal, and I have no confidence in it getting much better,

13.) 28 Jul 2020 21:02:39
How does an IT manager get to be a DOF, I am very interested as an IT manager myself, maybe should apply but feel maybe missing something that carries a bit of weight on my CV 😁.

14.) 28 Jul 2020 21:47:27
Monty youve either got IT or you haven't got IT.
You apply mate because theses guys haven't got IT
Coaches get sacked for their bad hiring.

15.) 28 Jul 2020 23:56:33
79 no 18 ALL CRAP I REST MY CASE, is he a bulgarian fullback
Anyway i agree with you silva is our dead ball specialist, case rested.

16.) 30 Jul 2020 18:00:57
Stevie F: Carvalho is crap full stop. A waste of money not a waste of talent, so lightweight a puff of wind could knock him over, doesn't tackle and when he does makes a mess of it, doesn't get back to support and rarely makes a proper pass.We can all see it and 30,000 every home game pay to see it, we have U23 players better than him, but if you spend 13 million you have to justify what you've spent I suppose. Be better for the lad if we let him move elsewhere

17.) 30 Jul 2020 18:51:21
Dead ball specialist? He got one goal from a free kick but can't take corners at all - only when Lolley takes a corner do we ever score or look like scoring.

18.) 30 Jul 2020 21:36:45
Are you talking about silva?
He took thirteen corners in one home game and guess what?
They all came to nothing.
Lolleys are much better.

19 Jun 2020 17:54:57
Lamouchi has signed a new contract. No timeline as yet.

1.) 21 Jun 2020 17:42:29
I heard it’s 2 years with the option of a third.

2.) 21 Jun 2020 19:15:42
Yes I've read that OMRIFTT.

I've recently wondered about the retained list. Apparently NFFC submitted theirs to the EFL on July 14th. according to someone on Twitter. Contrary to what many might think or feel on here most of the names we have been asking to get rid of are all on there so I can't see us offloading many this next year until contracts actually expire. My Computer skills just don't let me print it here, but I've kept it on my desktop. I have to say it makes depressing reading that we will be carrying so much dead weight again, it must be costing the club a fortune.

1.) 05 Aug 2020 23:10:57
Zach clough is still on it and he's on 20 k a week.

2.) 06 Aug 2020 07:45:18
There are many more.

3.) 06 Aug 2020 09:22:29
Crazy thing is we signed carvalho as he’s meant to be better than Clough . I actually believe in the style we play that Clough would have been more just as productive, the team would have been no worse or no better . It’s not just the money we’ve squandered on carvalho but he money spent on Clough’s wages as well.

There is still a lot to fix at this football club in my opinion and I’m still scratching my head as to how he’s still got a job, if you look at the dreadful spectacle, inept tactics, suicidal substitutions and lack of winning mentality it’s hard to grasp. That said it’s a good thing to retain a manager fro a bit and perhaps it’s part of the journey to a better place because I’m afraid the club is still a basket case .

4.) 06 Aug 2020 10:13:18
2 star their is no structure at the club just a bun fight to get to the premier league on the cheap and wallow in the copious money, even if just for one season. Like you my head is so effing itchy its its more than irritating.

03 Aug 2020 13:17:18
We still haven't heard yet from AK but MON is reported to have said:

"But at Sunderland and Forest, I was absolutely not in charge because other people wanted to run the clubs."

As most of us suspected the Owner always wants to do it his way. I can't see this changing anytime soon, so the Forest roller-coaster is due to carry on.

1.) 03 Aug 2020 15:13:16
If you were a highly successful business man who owns another football club that wins the championship nearly every year doing it your way, the temptation would be to follow the same model with your new club. wouldn't it?
After all you have paid a lot of money for the privilege.

Marianakis is an experienced football club owner with an excellent success record in his home country. The EFL is a different proposition but I feel he is competitive and ambitious for us to succeed, but its going to take time especially with FFP to manage .

2.) 03 Aug 2020 16:22:57
Greek football is mickey mouse and probably corrupt. No comparrison to being a success in this country.

3.) 03 Aug 2020 16:24:45
I don’t think he gets has involved as like Fawaz did I think he employs a team to do it his way, so for me it’s more the scouting philosophy.

4.) 03 Aug 2020 16:51:33
Yea more back room staff than players
A team of 15 assisting lamouchi
Joke 😂.

5.) 03 Aug 2020 20:07:41
I’ve yet to see evidence he knows what he’s doing here. He’s wasted a lot of money already .

6.) 03 Aug 2020 19:55:22
probably corrupt, why?
no more corrupt than EFL with their system of punishments, one rule for big clubs another for smaller clubs.

29 Jul 2020 15:15:20
Has anyone seen and studied a film starring Brad Pitt called ”Moneyball”.
It's about a different way of creating a team using Sabermetric approaches to analyzing players, and it has become the norm for US baseball teams.
It's worth a look and worth a try in my opinion.

1.) 29 Jul 2020 17:18:37
It’s what football data analysts use. Issue is baseball they designed a team around getting on base, and defensively it’s not as bad. Football is a trickier sport because there’s no break between attack and defence it’s all in the same move.

29 Jul 2020 12:01:52
Adama Diakhaby, John Bostock and Alfa Semedo have been removed from the list of first-team players on the club’s website.
i.e their loans have been terminated.

1.) 29 Jul 2020 12:45:55
good because they're a waste of time.

28 Jul 2020 18:25:36
I think we have a big quandry at the city Ground now: what do we do to get promotion, not just the play-offs. We have had umpteen managers and three different owners in the last 10 or so years, not to think about all the players that have gone through the club in that time, and we are still not near enough to being one of the top/best teams in the Championship.
What bothers me most is that there is nothing scientific or even ordered about how we build a team.
We seem to patch up the side with either imports from abroad whose quality is questionable, or older players from the UK who are reaching the end of their careers, and mix it with a few lads from our U23s.
Brentford seem to have developed a different way of looking at the problem and I noticed a lot of their players come from Scandinavia.
Lamouchi cannot say much about this, but it is high time we were told by the Owner and his Staff what they are going to do about the future and how they intend to lift us up to Premiership Status.
Everything to me seems chaotic right from Doughty's time, and any success seems to have been by good luck not planning.
Whilst we are all still seething at the breakdown in mentality of our professionals, no-one seems to be picking up the pieces and give us all some confidence, and that goes for the lads too.
If next season is going to be the same again but with a few decent players added to the mix we are not destined to go very far.
We need to be given a properly laid-out plan, otherwise it's no good us just giving blind loyalty to the club and those running it, because things will just meander on in the same chaotic way as they seem to have done over the last 20 years or so.
I am one Fed up Red.

1.) 28 Jul 2020 19:19:29
I think we shouldn’t be looking at anyone else’s model as we tried to copy wolves an that failed spectacularly, cheers mendes but we should be looking at young, hungry players from the lower leagues, another main point is we need to be more attack minded and that’s the coaches choice so do we change coach aswell?

2.) 28 Jul 2020 19:52:09
The answer was simple but that ship as now sailed .
We would have achieved our goal with him but he,d have wanted a free hand and even King Billy didn't,t get that ,he,s known the league like the back of his hand, but he,s his own man.

3.) 28 Jul 2020 21:18:01
Thing is bsered we are doing exactly the same as brentford, but we are doing it badly and that's down to brentford having better dof and scouts and the owners are football savvy its that simple.
We need to bring in better quality recruitment team and then you will get better quality players.
Its common practice now in the top two divisions to have a coach with the dof sorting signings.
We just aren't doing a proper job.
My opinion is we just get more of the same for next season with a balance the books departure or two to make it ok.
Id say another eight players will be bought in all lacking in quality or young benfica kids with a view to bye.
Thats marinakis plan.

4.) 28 Jul 2020 22:14:31
We were unbalanced with far too many defenders and central midfield players. We lacked options in attack. Then we recruited badly in January and that cost us the play offs. We needed and still need one or even two Championship level forwards. Not unknowns from Continental Div 2s or loans who contribute nothing.

5.) 28 Jul 2020 22:19:50
Agree carlo.
Foriegn owners just won't have a manager running the club though.
Those days are gone.

6.) 28 Jul 2020 23:34:13
Should be looking towards players in league one and league two with potential. Likes of Wells, Watkins, Stockley, Roofe were all signed pretty cheap. Then add a couple of decent loan signings from the Prem.

As much as I hate this system, it works for plenty of clubs and saves a fortune on purchases and wages. Just look at Abraham, Mount, White, Tomori etc. We however never seem to pull off loaning these top youngsters, maybe it's the philosophy of the club that puts them off. And yes, use our youth when we can, but unfortunately they aren't nowhere near regular first team football.

2star: I've always felt his dead ball skills were poor except for one free kick, but the lad had a good turn and could pass well at times; asking the smallest bloke in the side to be a defensive midfielder as well was asking too much of him.

Not if the contract means they should be here for another year or so, that way we'd have to pay to break the contract. and with a lot of them who's going to make a bid for them?
