Is that Fabrizio's brother?

The players agent has stated that no offers have been received.

Officially, if Roma haven't accepted an offer, then Forest are not allowed to speak to the agent. They used to call it tapping up. Happens all the time though, obv.

Sportwitness: "Even though there were many outlets reporting the offer, the representative turned up to deny it. And we now may get to understand why he said that.

A new story from CalcioMercato. it confirms that Nottingham Forest have been ‘pushing’ to sign Ibanez, but claims the ‘official’ written proposal hasn’t arrived at Roma yet. "

Futher from indsidefutbol: "However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato. it, Roma are only prepared to start talks with Nottingham Forest if an official bid is made.

Jose Mourinho’s side value the defender at €25m to €30m and have identified Ibanez as a player who they could sell this summer.

Ibanez, on his part, will only consider an offer to leave Rome if that offer is comes attached with a lucrative contract. "

Another update from Sportwitness:

Forest bid of €25M is €5M short. "It’s claimed Ibañez has informed his entourage he needs a ‘very attractive’ offer of around €4-5m per year to join Cooper’s side. "

Interestingly, negotiations may rely upon Roma CEO Lina Souloukou in the potential operation. The latter knows Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis well after working for six years at Olympiacos.

Hilarious. Is it me or are NottinghamLive using my research for their articles. Have a look at their update. ? ?

@NottinghamLive: I am available as a Nottingham Forest feature writer or reporter for a reasonable wage. I'm definitely cheaper than Roger Ibanez. My email address is available from the ForestRumours editors, at a transfer price to be negotiated. ?.

{Ed001's Note - actually we don't keep email addresses mate. We don't save anyone's info on purpose. We have been accused in the past of selling email addresses by people who have had their emails hit by spam. Far be it from me to point out that it is probably more likely that they have been using porn sites or similar things but it is certainly not us. I wouldn't even know how or who to sell an email address to! Either way, we decided the best thing to do is just not keep them in our database at all, then no one can even hack them from us.

But they can certainly post on here and ask you to pass it on via us. Not sure they could afford the transfer fee though as I hear you have interest from Saudi Arabian press......}

Apparently, Ibanez to make a decision in the next few hours after Forest presented them with an offer they can't refuse.

Cheers ed. Prob good idea not to keep emails. I'll pass on my agent's details if required. ?.

{Ed001's Note - if you don't have an agent I can recommend a very good one for you....}

The club might not be able to refuse the offer, Cyclist, but the player will be offered more money by MBS. So he will more than likely go there.

This is just a personal opinion
We saw this 30 years ago in the states with predominantly older players going there l, same happenings now in suadie league, msl hardly moved on from what was expected
The Arabs have the money, but don't have the right weather to play proper football, far to hot, so it's just about wanting to play proper football or just take the money?

I can understand older players like Ronaldo and benzema going and taking a kings ransome at the end of their careers but young players will never achieve anything other than financial gain by going there.

I'm convinced it will have its time but might take a few years
This should lead to fifa looking at ffp as the Arabs have inflated prices imo
You can't keep figures of ffp stagnant, while players transfer fees and wages spiral
39 million loss over three years for a championship club with ambition is impossible to adhere to.

As far as I'm concerned, the Arabs can pay what they like for now, they haven't got enough clubs to keep attracting every player and they will never be a force in football.

I understand only the greed side to Ronaldo and Benzema (or any other footballer for that matter) going to Saudi Arabia because that's what it is. The 2 of them have got 100's of millions of pounds in the bank. If you want more of what you've already got a lot of then that is greed. Nothing more.

Difference between the US, China and Saudi Arabia is that most of the clubs in Saudi Arabia are government owned, so the financial backing is effectively limitless.
