Nigel Clough keeps getting mentioned because he is a good manager. He turned Derby into Championship play off team with very little money. He got Burton Into the football League and built foundations that now sees them in the Championship.

He got Sheff Utd on very good cup runs and the Div 1 play offs. He improves a club season after season. He could be someone to unite the fans. He knows the Championship. He knows the club. He plays football on the ground like his Dad. He is not Brian Clough, but there will only ever be one of them.

He has been my choice for years. Rowlett just happens to be fashionable right now and if he has said he does not fancy it at the City Ground I would eliminate him straight away, He is not good enough to be messing us around.

Yeah me too . Clough said sum outrageous things about us while at Derby but as passions run high in a massive game like the reds v the shangers I'm sure all could be forgiven. His achievements at Burton were nothing short of miraculous and even though it's another ex player he has gud experience of the championship and league football and probably has gud know how on possible player avaliability from these leagues to help us become a better team. It isn't just because his dad was God he would in my opinion fit wat we're looking for perfectly someone to steady the ship then help us move in the right direction. Experience counts for a lot in our position and barring maybe Kenny jackett the others mentioned don't have a patch on him ( excluding Mccarthy and Pearson who turned us down) I think cloughs apparent willingness to join us and work for fakwad puts him in the right frame of mind to push us forward rather than someone who ums and arrs takes the job then realises they made a wrong decision. Clough will know the crack and will have big enuff gahoonies to deal with it.

Not sure about the Clough thing. Always had the impression there is no love lost between him and Forest.

Think was just the emotion of being a shaggers manager clough embroiled himself into their way of thinking which you should do whoever u manage . I'm sure when he reflected he would know he has loyalty and forest blood in his veins.

As Fawaz thinks he the next best thing to OBE he would not dare appoint Nigel knowing he will then sack him. Would never promote violence this scenario would be the final straw for some fans? I do not think Nigel would even consider the job!
