After watching Newcastle v Villa tonight I've come to the conclusion that teams heading for promotion get good luck and the run of the ball.

Aston Villa, well, they're like us no good fortune when you need it also don't anyone tell me that the promotion hopefuls get there by skill alone.
Look at our record of fantastic goals against us that does'nt happen to the fortunate few at the top of the table.

I don't begrudge them this as I've always said apart from a good team you also need lady luck on your side.

Maybe next season we will get the breaks. Well done Newcastle you've helped us out now come on QPR tomorrow night and beat Wigan, so that demoralises them for our visit Saturday.

Why shouldn't I wish misfortune on our rivals and some luck to us for a change.

Great to see Lansbury scored his first goal in Villa colours. Snigger.

They don't concede fantastic goals because they close players down when there 30 to 40 yards from goal where as teams against us get time to look up have a a quick sandwich pick there spot hit it under no pressure at all and score a screamer case closed nothing to do about bad luck just crap defending from the midfield.

I got to about 42 mins and turned it off due to it being as dull as a Dougie freedman game.

red James Osborn closed down and was right at the side of the player (virtually touching him) that scored sheff wed first goal. the player hardly had time to have a sandwhixh and In fact because Osborn tracked him back and closed him down forced him into having a shot at goal.

That one yes but not all the others you can't pick out one when the other 5 or 6 long range goals were how I described.

I agree with you there humorist, Villa were the better team for long periods and went a goal down completely against the run of play, it was Newcastles first chance too. Just shows what confidence, belief and a bit of luck can do. Both goals were scrappy.

Ritchie for Championship player of the season for me so far, quality at this level every time I see him play.

I liked Lansbury but I have to say, his og was a classic, I'm sure the Toon fans smiled all the way home after that.
