Poor result and the doommongers start up again. The guys have done brilliantly recently so look at this result as a reality check and let's hope we can nick the points at Fulham with Britt and Ross up front and more steel at the back. For me midfield is the continual Achilles heel, needing a commanding playmaker. For instance a Lansbury, but one who turns up every week.

the goals today.

Mike mate, it's the same pattern as when DF got sacked. Only good for a few games.

Cannot legislate for the key goals today but should have set up with 2 strong DM's. You are right our midfield is powder puff. The new lad seemed to be getting pulled out of position?

Bad day at the office but now we have Clough we can get service to RM or BA if we can stiffen up the 4 behind with the new guys?

Best option in my opinion is to leave Jack pulling the kids through successfully and have a Nigel Clough / Gary Brazil partnership. Thoughts? Is it not finally time to pull Nigel in, especially with Burton where they are in the league, surely he would come this time?

His name ant been mentioned but I'd try and get hoddle Said it before was a cracking manager/coach. But had what he said bout disabled blown out of proportion by press when he was England manager.

2.) 17 Jan 2017 23:04:03
Please explain why Nigel Clough is an option !

3.) 18 Jan 2017 02:57:24
Well got to say 1 thing fawaz done is job well again why were all debating on a good manager coming in which won't happen again and again we forget about the real reason were in this shit again and again lol

Clough has great / limited success at derby, burton and sheffield united, knows the club the Divison and it's problems . and would be available without a pay off. It's the obvious choice and it would make a great story if he turned us around.

2 star in answer to your question imo Nigel slough ticks all the boxes in the parlour state we are in. His teams are always well organized and motivated plus he has extensive knowledge of the championship and lower leagues where we will be mainly recruiting hungry young players from in the foreseeable future. Indeed sadly we might even be playing in those leagues.

His record on a usually reduced budgets is exemplary and his team's always punch well above their weight. However even allowing for the emotional ties and the Clough name would be leave a well run (albeit a "smaller" no disrespect intended Brewers) with an excellent Chairman and infrastructure to join our bloody shambles? But he would sort us out and I think FAH could be persuaded to keep out of the way and concentrate on selling up and let him and the new CEO get on with it

6.) 18 Jan 2017 09:37:14
Why on earth would Nigel Clough leave Burton to join the Forest circus and the vitriol of the fans when things start going pear shaped when players are sol from under him?

The new owners will have been working hard behind the scenes with the new management team to hit the ground running. They're not stupid enough to let forest get relegated and have their costly new business lose a year. By weds we will have new owners, new manager and backroom team, and with a bit of luck a couple of bids placed.

Seems to me that for a club strangled by regulations that DF has done a cracking job to get the likes of Mendes even considering a move, he looks world class. Fingers crossed and stop knocking
FAH guys he's pumped a fortune in.

Agree. Cast iron certainty that a one goal defeat is on the way v Reading, and he'll be gone before we hit Xmas, no doubt about that.

Clough and Pearson has a ring to it, but cannot see any of these guys going for a two man team.

Seems to me for a club strangled by regulations and doubts over the owner's motives, that DF has done a remarkable job in this transfer window, with Mendes in particular looking like a world class finisher. Fingers crossed.

Great to see Lansbury scored his first goal in Villa colours. Snigger.

This team have no idea how to defend. Opposing forwards are regularly in too much space. Until that is resolved no progress will be made. No serious chance of promotion until Hasawi is gone, although financially it needs someone with seriously deep pockets to replace him, so there is no option but to give PM time. Hasawi is the same as most of these foreign owners, talks passionately about wanting football success, but when there is a huge pile of cash on the table for best players they just can't refuse, because profit is more in their dna than football. Simples.
