I think this is a super buy. Sure, the guy has to prove his worth in the Championship, but no different from an U21 player having to prove their worth in a senior squad. I think this signing shows real intent and I am sure we were not the only ones after his signature!

Maybe now people will get off our chairman's back, I believe we are now in a very good position. Yes 6mill is 3mill short for Darlow and Lascelles however we still have them next season with no wages to pay, and if there is a sell-on even better. Now we have made 2 great signings today, if we can just keep Henri then that is a fantastic squad.

When everybody is fit we clearly have a championship challenging squad. I reckon a centre mid on loan then that's us done. This is the most positive feeling l have had since being back in the Championship. Can't wait for Saturday.

The signing of Michael and brit are what we have been missing, they will run at defenders and create chances and score goals, not that bothered about Cox and Mackie going, we have Darlow and lascelles for a season for nothing, the 25 man squad is nearly complete, just need lansbury to sign a 3 year deal, I just hope all those supposed fans who sent fawaz abusive messages hang their heads in shame, imo we have the best squad that we have had for several seasons, bring on Blackpool COYR

Anyone who has critisied the Chairman recently needs to copy and paste some of these comments and next time you feel the urge to moan read what he has done for our club.
If he sells Lansbury for £2mill then it must be for a reason.

@polskared: Stan Collymore was a phenomenon when we signed him; I'm not sure this is quite the same thing - and I read somewhere it's the largest fee ever paid for a player from that division so there's a clear risk being taken here. Here's hoping it pays off.

Dave L do a bit of research because Rhodes went to blackburn for 8mil yes hudds went up that year but was never proven above league 1

I believe that Fawaz and Pearce have made the right call all summer between them. makings of a good team. when the ceo is appointed it will make things even better!

@camnffc: I believe the content of my post is correct; I didn't say anything about a player being proven at a particular level - merely that I'd read that the fee was the largest paid for a player from a third-tier club. I know very little about the guy and I certainly hope that we have a player of Rhodes' quality at a reduced price but, like I said (and I think it's a fair observation), I consider there to be a certain amount of risk involved.
