Former Rangers boss Mark Warburton in line to become Nottingham Forest manager if club avoid relegation.

I would have appointed him straight away, GB is out of his depth with formations, team selections and substitutions.

A manager that is only willing to come if we stay up isn't worth bothering with. this bloke also said rangers was a stepping stone to a prem job is that really the sort of manager we should be looking at?

Any manager, and any player that joined Forest would take off as fast as their motors could get them their if a Premiership club approach ed them, so i'm surprised by your post.

For crying out loud what do people want we wanted a dof we've got one then its a manager who apparently is out of his deph looks like warburton may be in the frame we have fiancial director that's sorted now what else can we find to moan about i know the price of the bovril 😀😀.

{Ed007's Note - If Warburton does get the managers job Forest fans will have plenty to moan about.}

Ed007

Care to elaborate?

{Ed007's Note - He was - and still is - a bit of a joke figure up here. As soon as there's any pressure put on him he goes into himself and doesn't know how to handle it, he disappeared off the face of the planet for 2 months when after getting beat by Hibs in cup final.
Warburton refuses to adapt from a 4-3-3 regardless if the players can play it or not and he has no Plan B,Warburton said his Plan B was doing Plan A better, his substitutions are predictable and a lot of the times pointless.
Then there is his man management skills which are quite frankly atrocious - the Joey Barton debacle is only one instance of it and other players have came out and said the same - it seems he's fine managing a bunch of kids but he struggles to control older more experienced players who like to make themselves heard, even if it's when things are going wrong and they're offering advice and if any player is needing a rocket up their arse then forget about Warburton doing it, he will do anything possible to avoid any type of confrontation.
He's a weak and spineless man who lacks any kind of balls and allowed himself to be bullied and be publicly ordered around by a PR guy that The Rangers use to ensure only 'good stories' get in the press up here.
If it wasn't for the compliant media up here The Rangers supporters would have seen through him during the summer when he went AWOL to the point The Rangers were recruiting players (Barton, Krankjar etc) without their manager being involved as they didn't know where he was or even if he was coming back until he turned up to take preseason training.}

A yes man who only let's the youth play?

Perfect fit at our joke of a club.

rangers set out a plan of rebuilding and set aside x amount of money to spend each season to not break the bank and keep the club running properly, then warburton asked for more money to be able to compete with celtic after agreeing he spent it and still struggled to compete. again is that the sort of manager we need.
Tomorrow some managers are happy to be at a club warburton seems to think he's better than what he is and thinks he's worth a job in the prem, what has he done?

What has Warburton done? He had a nothing Championship side in Brentford punching well above their weight whilst playing some very decent football.

Considering what we've had in the last few years, that gets him a job at Nottingham Forest in my book.

Reluctant to highlight his achievements in the pub leagues north of the border, but they ain't too shabby either.

Take on board the comments above, but we really can't afford to be turning our nose up at Mark Warburton.

{Ed007's Note - Hahahaha Ain't too shabby!!! The second division in what you call pub leagues and a cup only the lower divisions play for - and all with the second largest budget in the country! Scottish football chewed him up and spat him out and I guarantee you that he will NEVER be a top manager. In fact I'll be utterly amazed if he ever manages an EPL team and remembering he turns 55 this year so this isn't some young up and coming manager that's going to learn from his mistakes, according to a lot of The Rangers fans he didn't learn anything in his 18 months up here as nothing changed or improved.}

Why bother about ifs and buts with Warburton he ain't going to get a result for us tomorrow and personally reading between lines clough will come in summer only turned it down as didn't think it fair at that moment in time
Anyway I'll enjoy my Warburton toast in morning they do make great bread.

Looks to me like our ed knows more about rangers.

{Ed007's Note - I stay in Scotland mate and as a Celtic fan I loved watching Warburton bumbling along acting as if he knew what he was doing. The whole idea that he is some kind of tactical free thinking genius baffles me and I don't know why he's seen as such considering what he's actually achieved in the game - which is hee haw, it's all spin and bluster.}

Ed, as you are a Celtic man that seems bitter towards everything to do with Rangers, i won't take your opinion as fact if you don't mind. Warburtons record with Brentford is what i will focus more on. They have gone backwards without him and never had it so good with him onboard. They walked all over us a couple of times and played some good football. With the state we've been in lately, even if he could achieve a strong top 10 finish and make us good to watch at home then i'd be happy with that as a start.

{Ed007's Note - A Nottingham Forest fan happy to just finish in the top 10, is that how low your expectations are? If you want I can provide proof of everything I've said so it's not just my opinion mate. But how the hell can I be bitter when it's my team that's been dominating Scottish football for years and will do for years to come, so what exactly have I to be bitter about? That doesn't even make sense.
You obviously never watch much Scottish football so you really don't know what you're talking about, I find it's better not to comment when that's the case. Go and watch reruns of The Rangers games and you'll see for yourself or go on The Rangers forum and see what their own fans thought about him - or will they just be bitter as well?
For me personally I would have LOVED Warburton to stay at The Rangers because it would have guaranteed Celtic's continuing success and guaranteed more laughs from watching Ibrox, it would have been a win-win for me.
Warburton won a lower league in Scotland against a lot of part-time teams and a cup that only lower leagues play for - that's it, a 55 year old manager and that's the best thing on his CV. He left Scotland as a laughing stock trailing Celtic by 33 points and lost 3 matches against us and that was him having the 2nd biggest budget in Scotland. The guy's a spineless, clueless fraud and he was found out, chewed up and spat out in a league you all look down your nose at.}

Ed your last sentence 'The guys a spineless, clueless fraud and he was found out, chewed up and spat out in a league you all look down your nose at. ' And you're trying to kid us all you're not bitter after saying things like that? You're going to make a lot of work for yourself as an Ed if you want to argue with every single post on here. More to the point, Forest 3 nil today. COYR!

{Ed007's Note - So what is it I am actually meant to be bitter about? You're not making any sense and I guess you must be new to the site. I've been editing for about 6/7 years and very rarely comment on the Forest page so I'm hardly arguing with every single post am I?}

Well that's told us! Let's hope we do not end going for a War Burton?

{Ed007's Note - Mate get him in if you want but it won't end well. All I've done was tell you what he done in his time up here and most of The Rangers fans would agree with me and they were glad to see the back of him.}

I read and article that a Bolton fan put together about Dougie freedmans time up there and it was shocking how accurate it was and it panned out exactly the same way here as the person who wrote it said happened to Bolton.
These people aren't just saying this stuff through bitterness they are telling us there experience and thoughts about what they have seen.

In regards to the points made about war button, he did produce good football before going to rangers. And any man who took that rangers job was on a hiding. They have no money and club are still in a mess. And in regards to Celtic being top dogs up there, not really much of an acievment considering the quality of the football they play against each week. Scottish football needs rangers or someone else to give Celtic some competition. Bring Celtic down south and see how the would get on. They would be a team outside our top 10 in the premiership. Not many players come down from there and achieve much down here which to me tells you about the standard of football up there.
