It is very interesting to see the different team selections and formations which are many and varied.
Therefore if we cannot agree, what it is like for Stuart Pearce who probably listens to his advisors who from what we have seen can't agree either !

One thing I do agree with is a settled team only changed when injuries force the issue.

Even in BD's time he also started chopping and changing and we started to go downhill.

The defence have got to sort themselves out without Reid & Hobbs and must be played in their preferred positions where they will do best, never mind the tactics.
SP must know by now that we must have a big guy up with Britt. We've got one, he's called Lars.
All he has to do is get that 6'5" frame up in the air and nod it down to Britt or else goal wards.
Big defenders don't like big players going up against them that's why Hobbs & Lascelles going up for corners puts the wind up them. If you can see this then you know your doing right.

Finally will SP & his advisors bite the bullet and play Abdoun. He is so unpredictable but that's what I like about him and the opposition doesn't.
He's a skillfull ball player, reads a game well & is prepared to take on defenders. Okay he will sometimes lose the ball this way but when he doesn't there is mayhem.
No doubt I shall incur the wrath of many with this suggestion but I don't see anything else working.

Agree with two up top,Brit and Lars are definitely worth a go,what do we have to lose?We have the guys to get the crosses in and I think Brit would benefit from having a partner up there.Brit and Fryatt were doing ok until Fryatt's injury,so it's two up top for me!!

Must agree with much of your post humorist. The bearded magician is class and Britt up top on his own ain't working.

Humourist you make a good point that I'd not gave much thought to.
Would be good to see Lars and Britt given 2-3 games together to see how they go. Not so sure about Abdoun though.

I'm not disagreeing with you but people on here are moaning about us playing hoof ball, if you put Lars up front it is more than likely play more hoofball. i have said from the start Britt can't play on his own upfront. on the other side we are getting beat in midfield when we have 5 in there so how would we cope with 4?we all say what we think but do we all see what Pearce sees in training do we all know the ins and outs of what players are feeling like, ie fitness, illness or anything happened in there life outside football. how do we know hunt didn't have a knock and wasn't fully fit?this isn't FIFA 15 or champ manager it's real life.

Assombalonga is 5ft 7ins with lightning pace. He wants putting through on the floor. So let's get a creative playmaker in place to give him what he wants. Crazy to suggest he can't play on his own if we don't play to his strengths.

We need to stop bringing everyone back for corners Leave two up and the opposition have to leave players back Its all to co jested in the box

I have to say uptheforest that I've read several of your posts and (apart from me :-)) you seem to be one of the most level headed people on here. Keep up the good work mate.

I think we need this wednesday is bring in devries as he will command his area and shake the back 4 up an also bring Mancienne forward to a defensive midfield at the side of tesche. that would help , what do you think ??

Agree with cjay. The Ass Man's goals last season came from through balls. We expect him to chest it. Lay it back, and then run on to it. We look like a Moyes team. All crosses and long balls. With 3 speedy front men we should have the confidence to soak up pressure and break quickly. We are so slow on the ball we look like England. By the time we attack everyone is back. It's as if Stuart has been working with F Fabio and Roy.

Is having a target man up front the same as hoofball? Anyone remember Peter Withe?
