I take on board the criticisms of Michael Mancienne who I think is an excellent player.
The problem here is the role of captain is not suited to him and is a ton weight on his shoulders.
With due respect he is not a leader but is a good follower of instructions.
Take this responsibility off him and you will see a much improved player.
I have no leanings in particular who should be captain but I like this position to be from the middle of the pitch, someone who is in contact with both ends, so to speak.
As Geddy was so vocal on Saturday how about him or even Jack Colback someone who I think might relish the responsibility.
Better still, consult Gary Brazil?

Mancienne is a poor centre back. His starting positions are all wrong. His anticipation is poor. Communication non existant. Distribution is sideways with no drive out of defence. His goal threat at set pieces is woeful and he gets caught napping. You might think its a bit harsh but he has been at the club for a few years now and he gets bullied and pushed around dragged out of position. Whilst on this position why has club not made a statement on hobbs? They were determined through the window to clear out the deadwood paying off the free loaders. I like hobbs but is he finished?

I like that team but we need a creator - Tomlin will come good. I would have Murphy up front with Tomlin behind him, Brereton sub after 50 minutes for Murphy.

I'm with you bsered I'd give Tomlinson an hour just behind Vellious or Murphy with Brereton to come on later if we are losing or Osbourne if we are hanging on. It would be great to see a bit of pace down the wings with lolley and cash/Dejaggah.As a footnote I'm concerned about how Smith must be feeling he hasn't done much wrong yet gets dropped for Pants who hasn't impressed so far and likewise Eric brought off at half time.
