Cooper sounded convinced that Johnson will still be a Forest player when the window closes. Just hope if he is sold, which is very likely, that it is not done without his knowledge, we have a good manager/ coach there and we need to keep him, selling players behind his back won't be good.

Another 0-0 yesterday, anyone else worried about the lack of goals? I know it's only pre season games and they are mostly for player fitness but surely we should still be scoring a few goals, it's got me worried anyway.

Daz I’ve watched the “ serious “ friendlies “ on Forest TV (, Fiorentina and Al Qadsiah, perhaps one chalice Monaco) where we’ve put out teams approaching full strength and it does seem to be coming together mate, despite the lack of goals.
Defensively we look solid and organized. I’m liking MGW in a deeper role, it’s not quite coming off for Jesus as a number 10 yet but there’s signs he’s got something. Luiz would be a good addition imo
I’ve always said we are light up top. Wood isn't getting any younger and Anoniyi ( understandably) isn’t the player he was before his injuries.
Saving all the goals for Brentford perhaps ????

It was noticeable that Jesus had two good chances with his head and almost put one away. Looked like typical number 9 type scenarios to me, though. If one had gone in people would be calling for him to start the first game probably.
No way do we know what to think about the new signings. Even Murillo arrived not fit enough for Prem level and hired a fitness coach before getting into the team. Takes time to settle in a new country and the hardest league in the world.
An experienced striker and loan for Awoniyi wouldn't hurt but is it a priority over a left back and replacement for Danilo. We probably still need another winger as well really.

I share your worries Daz. Stokey is a lot more 'measured' in his thinking than me and I do like his reply to your post. I too have seen positive glimpses of what we can be in the friendlies so far. However, without the end product of a goal do those glimpses really mean anything?
Stuck record time. Elanga, whilst far from perfect, always gave Forest a 'get out of jail card'. Get the ball to him and at least we knew that we would be on the front foot again - and quickly! Elanga brought out the very best in Wood and that led to goals. It was a perfect combination.
Overall, our efforts to re-invent ourselves post-Elanga simply haven't worked so far. I hope Nuno has the answer.

Missing out on a top 4 spot was bound to have consequences, Elanga, GW is an example. Will there be more? Murillo next? Hope the powers that be know what they are doing and are smart enough to have sell on clause as part of any sales. We need replacements in ASAP,

How do Brighton get on. They sell 2 or 3 top players every year and crack on.
We are where we are in the food chain at the moment. We can't compete financially with the top 6, because of their turnover and PSR.
Mr M didn't appoint Edu to sell all our players and not reinvest.
If there are not some significant incoming before we play Brentford I will be astonished.
Also I think we got found out at the back end of last season.

Might be the way the club is going Elanga and co., don't like the influx of some players coming in. Could be there position in the team maybe under threat, and agents feel players under threat. Big clubs sense this and wave big bucks. Just another prospective.

Astonished indeed…but, we have past form in expecting significant incoming transfers and have been mightily let down in the past…several times actually. I really cannot believe that MGW only has a £60m release clause. If it’s true his final price from Wolves is £45m, we’ve basically made very little profit. No wonder when all the talk of MGW costing a buying club £100m was never addressed by the club, because they knew the fans would be up in arms at that release clause.

I agree Daz but I think when the dust settles you realise that it’s always likely we will lose our top performers. I’m kind of comfortable with that but disappointed that (unless something big is going to happen) that we didn’t see it coming. Either on here or somewhere else I read that essentially agents have made this happen to get a pay out, very true and I think the club should really have seen this coming this summer, let’s hope they learn from it and we don’t pay a big price as currently, I feel we are scrambling around now.
