I’m in no way being racist here Carlo but it’s a move to secure the “brown” vote in the next election. In particular our Islamic friends have traditionally large extended families with more than 2 kids, unlike the white British. It’s no coincidence that “Mohammed” or its variants such as “Muhammad “ was the most popular boys name in 2023 and 2024and looks likely to continue as such mate.
I believe “Noah” is the next most popular because I guess we are all in the same boat …. 😀😀🙄🙄.

Something that didn't need altering, the two child cap will once again be abused, couples having more children for financial gain, not just the Muslims Stokey, I bet there's already another Mick Philpott doing the sums. Only way to make sure the money is spent on the children and not scratch cards, fags, vapes etc is receipts are collected and randomly checked by DWP at anytime!.

I find some of the comments above really insulting. Due to my cornish heritage 6-8 months of the year i'm brown, mainly due to working outdoors but not the point, if i walked into a mosque in the height of the summer not one person would bat an eyelid.
I have two kids and don't plan to have anymore.
So don't go pointing that brown finger willy nilly. 🥷🤣🤣🌳.

It is traitorous Carlo and ten years is insufficient. I think he is one of many Quislings in Parliament at the moment, bad mouthing his country for Putin ( and Trump) to obtain loadsamoney.

I hope all traitors meet the original Mr Quislings fate ….

We'll be close friends again with Putin when TACO forces us and the Ukraine into accepting his and Putin's 'surrender to Russia deal'. Putin will win and everyone will forgive him because the Mango Mussolini will bully all western nations into it. I wouldn't be too surprised by our government covering up of Chinese spies for deals either.
We ignore Saud Arabia and Qatar funding and supporting terrorist groups, that we have been at war with and that have attacked us and the USA, for money. UK's morals, principles and integrity have always been up for sale. Nothing to see here people.
Agree6
25 Nov 2025 14:47:42
Whilst recognising that we, like every other nation on the planet, are not spotless Silk I disagree that we have “always” put our morals, integrity and principles up for sale.
Historically WW2 and the Falklands are conflicts where we could easily have saved money and lives by taking the easy way out.
But perhaps you’d prefer the death camps and “disappeared” ones of Hitler and Galtieri?
Agree1
25 Nov 2025 15:52:34
Using death camps as a counter argument is a bit redundant considering the Spanish, the Americans and us used them before Hitler and Galtieri. Those wars are finished anyway. We are still effectively at war with Al Qaeda and ISIS which our good friends in Saudi Arabia and Qatar fund, support and sponsor.
But money makes it all better. I don't think Hitler and Galtieri offered us loads of money to turn a blind eye.
Agree2
25 Nov 2025 16:51:29
Two points there mate….
Firstly the British have never used death camps ( forget the Boer War the so called “ concentration camps” were nothing of the sort.
Secondly, we could have saved loads of blood and treasure by accepting Hitlers peace overtures and turning a blind eye to Galtieri’s military juntas occupation and the massive human rights abuses including murder and deportation of British citizens.

Not to mention Hamas who attack, for no reason whatsoever, our impeccably behaved allies Israel (who never do anything wrong and always act within the parameters of international law). They have an HQ in Qatar and are now protected by the USA with our blessing. But guess what? Qatar have gave TACO a $400 million dollar plane so he nor us put sanctions on them for funding Hamas.
In fact, we roll the red carpet out for them and put on a state banquet at the expense of the British taxpayer. David Beckham gets a knighthood for nuzzling their crotch in the process.

Wonder how many billions the freezing lump of rock in the South Atlantic has cost since Thatchers jingoistic election campaign that cost the life’s of so many young men on both sides.
Agree0
25 Nov 2025 21:39:47
Carlo, I agree that it was a tragic cost in lives on both sides in a war that was, to some extent, preventable. The Argentine military Junta were ruthless and unpredictable. But we didn’t believe they would invade and accordingly withdrew HMS Endurance and reduced the Royal Marine contingent as part of cost saving measures, which probably encouraged the invasion.
However, in my view, lives lost in protecting democracy are not wasted. Those 2500 Falkland Islanders were ( and are) British citizens. Now there are around double that. Would you have condoned their deportation and probably execution? After all, the junta had murdered 30 thousand of their own citizens, often by throwing them out, bound and gagged, from military aircraft flying over the sea so they wouldn’t have bothered about a few thousand Brits.
I have little sympathy for Thatcher but her Labour leader of the Opposition, the draft dodger and conscientious objector Michael Foot, would have happily sacrificed them before going to war.
We were lucky that Galtieri was as incompetent as us. If he’d waited another couple of years our aircraft carriers would have been scrapped and without air cover the operation couldn’t have succeeded.
Also, it turned out that their military were pretty good at murdering their own citizens, not so good when facing highly trained and heroic Royal Marines, Paras and Harrier pilots.
I will go to my grave believing it’s worth dying to preserve democracy, our freedoms and way of life.
Agree3
25 Nov 2025 22:33:59
Regardless, how would we feel if Argentina ruled the IOW,
The people of the Falklands should have been relocated to Britain many years ago and that godforsaken cold bit of land left to ever wanted it.
I think they thought there would be riches under the sea down there but the effort to reach them was never worth it, that dreadful women gained more years in power following the victory allowing to her shut all our pits sell most council accommodation, our electricity, gas, water, commodities we now pay vastly expensive bills for.
We had the vast riches of North Sea gas and oil but she squandered most of on her ideology which was was high unemployment to keep people in their place and smash trade unions.
This money should have been invested in our industry but most of it was allowed to fall away leaving most of our industries to go to the wall.

26 Nov 2025 10:40:37
I agree about the baleful effect of Mrs T. Carlo as PM but she was right in her actions over the Falklands and subsequent Governments are right to maintain a military presence there. Argentina are in no fit state economically or militarily to pursue claims on the Islands and are a democracy so maybe matters can be resolved ( but it won’t involve surrendering sovereignty).
Don’t see why the Falkland Islanders should be relocated to the UK if they don’t want to ( which, like Gibraltar, they overwhelmingly vote to stay).
These are British citizens not Slavic Eastern Europeans moved around in their millions by Stalin either for punishment, genocide or collectivisation ( resulting in millions of deaths and famine but that’s another story). The clue is in the name “Slavic” derived from the word “slaves” which Falkland Islanders are not.
I mean, you wouldn’t move off your land just because a foreign despot with a big Army wanted it would you?

I had quite a surreal evening yesterday at the Regent Theatre in Stoke. Colin Stagg ( wrongly accused of the brutal murder of Rachel Nicholl ) on stage in front of me and Keith Bryhmer Jones immediately behind me (twice accidently catching my wife with his full length faux fur coat and apologising).
If you get the chance go and see Jon Robsons talk on “Psychopaths”.
Not all psychopaths are murderers and are disproportionately high achievers in life.
By the way, according to world expert Professor Hare and his 40 points “psychopath” test, Elon Musk is definitely one whereas Donald Trump isn’t. The latter is just a very naughty ( and stupid) boy….

Well, Silk, I’ll leave you to disagree with Professor Robert Hare, professor emeritus British Columbia University, inventor of the Hare Physopath Checklist and the FBI senior forensic physiologist for child and serial killers.

Dr. Kevin Dutton who is apparently a University of Oxford researcher used the Psychopathic Personality Inventory – Revised (PPI-R) test, which can be done remotely and not face to face, to measure TACO'S psychopathic traits and he scored 171 which is higher than Hitler. The test you are referring to which is Psychopathy Checklist—Revised (PCL-R) can only be ( correct applied when doing a face to face 'interview' with a qualified professional.
TACO hasn't had one but scored 33 which is what Dr. Vince Greenwood, who is (also apparently) a clinical psychologist came up without a face to face meeting. So while it isn't a definitive result for him it could provisionally qualify him to be a psychopath.

Just reading on the BBC news about Stephen Crean. In a very moving interview he says the Doctors have told him he will never get full use of his injured hand back, maximum 75%. He is left handed ( the damaged one) and works as a printer. He fears for his future livelihood.
He comes across as a very modest hero. Of the money raised for him, around £65000, he says he’s have been happy and content with a few quid to have a drink at his local. Also, that he was thrilled to meet SD and the lads.
What a man! 👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻.

Brilliant tribute at the City Ground, to remember the fallen. Like most posts on this subject, I fear for this country now. Did the veterans fight for something, did they die for something? Yes they did, a way of life for us all to enjoy but not to endure. Far to many do gooders crying about human rights for everyone! In my opinion, if you do something wrong, if you break the law that everyone else respects, then you should lose your right to human rights! What about the human rights of decent people, who are attacked, burgled, have cars stolen, are defrauded, are raped, or murdered?
Rant over!
My heart breaks listening to the veterans talking about their mates who didn't come home RIP.

If any of you get the chance visit the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. When youve been on the magnificent HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the incredible Mary Rose, have a wander across to the Porters Lodge Garden. There, you will see the "Pique stone", a massive rock bigger than a HGV engine block ( and much heavier).
HMS Pique was a small sailing frigate, 5th rate carrying only 36 guns. Commanded by Captain Rous in 1835 she ran aground in uncharted waters off the coast of Newfoundland. Somehow they got her refloated, plugged the holes below the waterline as best they could and, rudderless, sailed her 2700 miles across a stormy Atlantic and home to Portsmouth.
Her manually operated pumps were worked 24/ 7 as they were taking on water at a foot every hour.
Without losing any crew, they got her home. It was only when she was under repair in dry dock that the massive stone was discovered lodged in an enormous hole deep in her hold.
The relevance to football is that our beloved Reds find themselves emblematically, in the same precarious situation.
But with outstanding leadership, a superb skillset and a crew that was hardworking, well trained, disciplined and motivated they survived and lived to fight again another day.
In fact the ship wasn't scrapped until 1910
I see SD in this light.

Don't take this the wrong way Stokey, but finally a non footballing post from you i can relate to. The historic dockyard is a great visit, that i did some years ago. I'm interested in military history and to walk the decks of HMS Victory was great. Very little space for crew to live never mind engage battle.
The ship is still in good condition, also the Mary Rose museum well worth it.
Other places to visit, Leeds Armouries and Stirling Castle if past military is your thing. Also visited Winchester this summer, the cathedral being the base for Anglo Saxon kings of England.
