Been said on a lot of the West Ham fan forums that with Rice leaving very soon, the club have a focused list of replacements, one of them being Yates. Would be gutted to lose him, but fee would likely be in the region of £22m, so could use this to fund signing Ampadu.

Yates won't want to leave. Not sure how long his contract is.

Ffs what is wrong with people? We are a side that needs to build on last season, not sell our crown jewels! I've said before we have a owner that isn't needing a £20 mil profit here or £30 mil there. Yates and Johnson are the players we need to build the team around. Not sell and get a couple of cut price mercenaries in.

Are you being serious Doller? So you’d get rid of Yates, the warrior of our team who gels us together and we get better results when he plays, for a no mark nobody who has done nowt? Just because he was on Chelsea’s books and did nowt? Give your head a wobble, would rather keep “ When Yatesey scores we’re in the Trent”.

Don't get me wrong Perko, I would be gutted to see him go because he's everything this club is about. But given there's rumours of Rice for 87m, we could probably get 40 for Yatesy which if reinvested properly could be the difference in keeping us up.

Ashley Young is also available on a free. I know, not a long term solution, but short term could be a great squad member with loads of experience.

I've seen us linked with that Luke Thomas from Leicester. Not very experienced but has looked promising when I've seen him play.

I don't think we are in the position to 'gamble' or go with the worse player right now in such an important position. Next season will be another tough one. Think we need to focus on staying up by any means and then once we've established ourselves focus on signings for the future. There will be plenty more Dean Hendersons.
