Russian media saying Sow will cost the club £640,000.

1.) 31 Jul 2019 20:15:36
Looking at him he'll cost us a lot of red cards.

2.) 31 Jul 2019 20:25:16
Just like Benalouane and Colback did.

3.) 31 Jul 2019 21:33:03
If the manager thinks that’s what type of player we need then so be it, if the team plays together as a team we won’t be getting that many reds at all.

4.) 31 Jul 2019 23:00:24
We don't have a manager we have a coach and a dof who buys a coach load every window for the coach to coach, so it's not what Lamouchi wants it's what he's given.

5.) 31 Jul 2019 23:15:50
So basically everyone is upset because we are signing a replacement for Colback who tackles harder, plays the ball forward quicker and is twice his size to cause problems at both end of the pitch?
Unbelievable Jeff! 😱🤣.

6.) 31 Jul 2019 23:32:37
Does it matter who it who’s signing the players? To me what matters is wether our 11 beats the oppositions 11 on a game day we could put out our reserve team with no experience an I’d still cheer for them because they wearing that little white tree on their shirt, I will judge them when they’ve played some games 👍🏻😊 coyr can’t wait to kick off the season.

7.) 01 Aug 2019 07:40:48
Arran 👍.

8.) 01 Aug 2019 10:55:26
Well said arran. Cannot wait for the season to start! COYR.

9.) 01 Aug 2019 12:55:14
Looking at Sow on youtube i think its a great signing. Tackles and defends like Kenny Burns runs end to end like colin bell great attacking psssing. He will need to watch for the cards but we need a bit of clout. Still need a right back option and one more goal scorer and we have a chance.

10.) 02 Aug 2019 06:10:33
. the coach is getting players dumped on him left right and center he has then got to try and fit them in to his style of play and try and make it all work and he also has to try and please the 40 odd players or there will be unrest in the dressing room.
But yea I suppose that doesn’t matter does it.

11.) 02 Aug 2019 10:39:28
How come the Report I've just read says Sow came on a Free Transfer? Are the Russians up to something?

{Ed001's Note - it was a free transfer according to FIFA's TMS.}

29 Jul 2019 13:19:10
Someone was unhappy at Rafa Mirs record as far as goals is concerned, stating he has only scored 7 goals after having played in in 30 games.

The post has said 11 of those 30 games were only sub appearances.
They have also said he is due a medical within 24 hours.

1.) 29 Jul 2019 13:26:29
Also he played LW and RW as well as Striker whilst on loan.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 13:34:24
We need a forward to challenge grabben not an unproven striker from the la liga 2.

3.) 29 Jul 2019 13:46:34
7 goals in 19 starts and 11 sub apps. That's a goal every 235mins (roughly 2.5 games) . Not a terrible record. Not sure what people expect when you can't afford to throw millions at the transfer market. Sometimes you have to take a chance (or hopefully an educated chance! ) .

He's a big No9 anyway, which is an option I think we need and he has good pedigree, graduating through the Spanish youth set up.

Shouldn't cost the earth in wages, I'd hope. Get him in.

4.) 29 Jul 2019 13:57:15
He's young, highly regarded in Spain, has a decent goal ratio and at 6ft 3, with Silva's set pieces, he should chip in with his fair share. Another astute signing in my opinion. It doesn't mention whether it's a loan or permanent though?

5.) 29 Jul 2019 14:05:19
Can’t judge the transfer when we’ve not even seen him play, we are building a team not individuals.

6.) 29 Jul 2019 14:07:44
He has been used out wide at Valencia, Redtree, but he's really a proper No9. I've seen him a few times for Valencia and for Spain.

He got used out wide because he has good pace and decent technical ability. Even as a 6ft3 centre-forward he can still get in-behind and run the channels. Very much a complete, all-round forward but just how good? I'm sure we'll find out.

7.) 29 Jul 2019 15:29:34
This is going to sound really bad but why not take a chance on a lower league player might be cheaper we did ok with britt that's my only concern really this coming season is where are the goals coming from, the new lads and Joe might chip in with a few or do you think he'll give young Walker a try.

8.) 29 Jul 2019 16:14:01
I'd like to see Walker used as our third choice striker, seeing as we're only playing one through the centre in a 433 formation (by the looks of it) .

Grabban, Mir and Walker fighting over the No9 shirt would be ok by me.

9.) 29 Jul 2019 16:30:31
Mir sounds like a flop to me, and certainly no competition for Grabban. Vellios, Bendtner, Ansarifard, we seem to go through duds all the time. Save our money till we get a chance for a real bombshell striker from whatever League. We can use Johnson and Walker till we do.

10.) 29 Jul 2019 17:07:15
Isn't Brennan Johnson a central midfield player?

11.) 29 Jul 2019 17:12:19
Mir and Walker unproven at this level and Grabban nearing 32. Doubt if that's a good enough set of forwards to be promoted.

12.) 29 Jul 2019 18:12:26
Dan we already have a young proven lower league striker. he's called Tyler Walker, why would be buy another one.

13.) 29 Jul 2019 18:09:26
So its alright to sign young strikers from the lower English leagues but not a prospect from Spain?

At least he's not a Scottish barn door misser!

Welcome Mr Mir.

14.) 29 Jul 2019 19:21:00
Why bother signing another unknown forward? Utter waste of time and money. This guy was behind Bonatini in the Wolves pecking order and has virtually no championship experience. Would have rather we kept Soudani or Vellios than this guy. Clough or Cummings might be better as well.

If Forest have any ambition for this season they need to sign two quality strikers along with a quality RB, a left footed quality centre back and probably another decent midfielder if Geddy goes.

Not impressed by the players we are being linked with.

15.) 29 Jul 2019 19:58:53
South you do not need to be impressed by their coming in,you need to be impressed by their quality of football.

16.) 29 Jul 2019 22:01:06
Sharp and McGoldrick sounds like an average strike force. They got promoted.

17.) 30 Jul 2019 06:45:15
South, I'd never heard of Silva or Samedo but they look like they can definitely do a job for us so let's trust the recruitment.

18.) 30 Jul 2019 10:49:05
So did dias and goncalves last pre season.

19.) 30 Jul 2019 16:42:28
This season's transfer window pretty much the same as last season's. let's hope still time to add a couple of game changers.

20.) 30 Jul 2019 22:52:17
Our IT Manager aka DoF started with Windows 7 when buying players for Fawaz and upgraded to Windows 8 last year.

We shall soon find out whether he has the latest Windows software to get our widgets to peak performance? 😳🙄🤮.

21.) 30 Jul 2019 23:42:35
The pratt is starting to worry me big time red, signing crap after crap.

22.) 31 Jul 2019 08:32:03
Not sure Ansarifard was a dud, so to speak. I think we've let a decent striker go, as in sure with a decent run in the squad he would have come good. never given a proper chance, but seemed ok when he was given a run out.

We do need a proven striker though, as I feel we are still way to short on quality in that area . and as we all know, you need goals to win games and get out of this league.

28 Jul 2019 05:20:09
Qpr offered Aberdeen £3m for Scott Mckenna, will we try and take the Scott from Scotland from under their noses. £3m probably too expensive for us though. 🤣.

1.) 28 Jul 2019 07:57:04
Can’t see them accepting a bid that low thought Burnley had a 10m bid rejected last season but who knows.

2.) 28 Jul 2019 09:40:39
Another centre back? Journo speculation nothing more.

3.) 28 Jul 2019 11:32:47
Just noticed that gareth bale thinking over a mòve to china for a million pound a week for me what a wast of talent could more or less get into any prem team but chose the money for me very sad any thoughts anybody? .

4.) 28 Jul 2019 11:39:35
He's had more than his fair share of injuries, so maybe too risky for Premiership teams. He probably knows he's not got many seasons left in him, so I can't blame him .

5.) 28 Jul 2019 13:48:34
Keep reading of midfielders being made offers for or defenders it's a bloody striker we are desperate we'll end up with another blackstock or cox 1 goal in 20 games.

6.) 28 Jul 2019 14:36:57
Dan, I know we all want a class striker that that will be prolific, but sometimes a club like Forest can always get that type of player as other teams can pay them more.

Sometimes it can be better to have a player that makes the team tick and chips in with a fair amount of goals rather than have an out and out goal scorer who gets isolated with hardly a sniff at goal because the service to him has been snuffed out.

7.) 28 Jul 2019 15:02:31
Not sure we need another class striker, that we spend a fortune on and flops and grabban would mope even more! Do need a young hungry striker that has the attributes to push grabban and become our no.1 striker in the coming years, not sure Tyler is the man for the job but see how he has progressed from last year. I think a Loan in div1 would be better for him than sitting in reserves. Definitely do not need more centre backs, a left back would be good!

8.) 28 Jul 2019 17:46:58
Norwich got Pukki for free and look what he did
Sheff Utd got McGoldrick for free and Sharp for next to nowt so there are bargains out there, big money does not always guarantee results.
Im just hoping the scouts out there are doing their job.
The last week of close season is always busy with transfers, looking forward to who we get and the start of the season.

9.) 28 Jul 2019 20:53:19
That's three strikers and two who we paid a mill each for only to fail.
It's more about buying the right strikers for the style of play, trouble is we change manager every six months and the manager doesn't pick the players we sign.

14 Jul 2019 14:48:15
It looks like we are going to lose Osborn, it is reported Sheffield United are said to be in advanced talks with the club.

He perhaps has gone as far as he can with us, and needs a fresh start. Good luck to him if he wants to leave.

1.) 14 Jul 2019 15:04:05
Good move for Sheffield and for Ben. Bad move for Forest.

2.) 14 Jul 2019 16:09:30
I’d give a thumbs down for that bsered 🤣 Ben is full of energy and commitment but just isn’t great- probably do ok as a bench warmer/ sub/ utility man for 10-15 minutes in the prem but we need more than that.

3.) 14 Jul 2019 17:50:05
6m if correct is a great deal for forest and for Ben - good luck, your hard work deserves a chance in the prem.

13 Jul 2019 13:37:53
Vydra has been said to not be an option as his club would want to recoup as much of £11m that they paid for him as possible.

1.) 13 Jul 2019 13:45:16

2.) 13 Jul 2019 14:07:06
Caramel Chew Chew for me NNR.

3.) 13 Jul 2019 23:42:42
Ahh your a train spotter then LC?
And your sticking to it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

4.) 14 Jul 2019 08:21:06
I need a telescope to watch the games from the front row so i could not spot a train 😆, Ben and Jerry are sweet guys, and it is good to chill out with them on any day with lads from work.

5.) 14 Jul 2019 10:18:25
Nah he's a painter and decorator with all that cutting and pasting? 🤣😜.

Sabri has said he wants a right back, a left sided central defender?, and hopefully a striker.

He admitted Cash not up to doing his new role well at the moment.

02 Aug 2019 18:47:26
Sabri has said the club will not sign a striker for the sake of it, only when a brilliant striker becomes available will we sign one.

So unless the club is willing to spend big on a striker we will not be getting another striker.

1.) 02 Aug 2019 19:26:37
Maybe on loan?

2.) 02 Aug 2019 19:35:13
Sounds about right. Hopefully this decision will not bite him on his rear? 🙄.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 20:02:25
arran. A brilliant striker on loan will command a high fee, as well as high wages.

4.) 02 Aug 2019 20:39:44
A brilliant striker wouldn't be playing in the championship, mr Lamouchi needs to understand that🤔.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 21:33:47
What quality forwards might be available either permanent or loan. We definitely need one grabbon injury prone.
Any ideas fellow trickies?

6.) 02 Aug 2019 22:11:25

7.) 02 Aug 2019 22:32:05
Signing Austin or Gayle for a 3-5m loan fee might be the difference to going up an we might be able to get the parent club to pay a percentage of the wage, for me if sign kodjia on loan from villa.

8.) 02 Aug 2019 22:33:04
Abraham will play in Chelsea's first team.
Ings has just signed for Southampton for 20 mill.
Assombalonga is on 40k
Rhoads is at a dead end
Voakes is always a part of the Burnley team.
That leaves Austin who is very injury prone and has a few premier sides sniffing.
So only rhoads is available and he's crap.

9.) 02 Aug 2019 22:33:37
Ross McCormick 😜

10.) 02 Aug 2019 22:47:50
I'd go with that arran kodja a good championsh striker. 👍.

11.) 02 Aug 2019 22:55:55
Why not the gates are open to sign him🤣🤣🤣.

30 Jul 2019 11:18:27
It has been found that a Danish football team that decided to have their players do a exercise called a Nordic Hamstring Curl had 85% less hamstring injuries compared to the previous season.

It surprised me a particular exercise could be so much better, or effective than any other exercise for the same muscle.

1.) 30 Jul 2019 11:55:47
I wonder if it applies to every muscle? Hmmmmm. .

2.) 30 Jul 2019 12:39:38
It is also possible that the Norwegian Hamstring Curl had absolutely zero effect on preventing injuries. It could just be that they had 85% less hamstring injuries with or without the curl. Statistics eh.

Get them to trial it for another 20 seasons. Then get another 20 clubs to do it as well, and another 20 clubs that won't do it. Correlate all the results and then hopefully we may be able to identify a trend that can prove or disprove the effectiveness of the curl. Trialing one club over one season is completely useless.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 12:52:16
Thanks for you input.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 13:44:41
Or maybe they just warmed up properly for the second season.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 14:13:23
Happy to help.

27 Jul 2019 12:42:11
Good bye Geddy.

26 Jul 2019 04:49:59
Off course no one can predict with certainty how each player will do this season but for those that say they want star players to join us i think what Klopp said when asked if Liverpool are interested in Bale, he said he is focused on building a team rather than acquiring individuals.

Too many fans and managers alike are like kids in a sweet shop when it comes to players, to which i include myself over the years, but Klopp does make sense.

1.) 26 Jul 2019 08:08:49
Purely by accident I heard a programme on the radio about bill shankly, and some old interviews were included, he was expounding the virtues of the team being everything, not individuals, 11 blokes working together, being greater than the sum of their parts, he was a genius, like our great man clough, reading books about clough, he was in awe of shankly, in my opinion, the greatest managers in British football history, ( suppose old whiskey nose at Man U would have to be up there too)

2.) 26 Jul 2019 09:12:46
Your right lc time to build a team is the right way but what manager now has time to build a team especially at forest so that idea is straight out of the window.

3.) 26 Jul 2019 10:01:39
Whilst the old adage that there is, no I in team, stands true, I think that we are desperately in need of a leader or two on the pitch. Dawson and Watson spring to mind, but how long have they got left.

4.) 26 Jul 2019 12:00:46
You only have to look at Sheffield Und and the point is proved ,team spirit is vital and not star players !

Leeds brought in a manager with no Championship experience, Sabri may not be the answer for us, but it is very early days.

Too many want to stick to what they know and are scared of anything different and think money should be thrown at the situation when it has not worked in the past for us.

Frustration comes when yet another season goes by without success but to write a season off after one game after so many changes and another manager being brought in late in the day, what can you expect.

Luck is needed in abundance to get out of the Championship as well as a team that plays for each other.

I think you are little confused, that may be the right way to success, but just how many English clubs actually do that.?
