Sheffield United expected to bid 12 million and include Luke Freeman in the deal.

For me I would try and hold out for 15 million. But if Sabri thinks freeman boosts the squad (which he does) and the club can manage to add a few more quality signings it could be good business.

1.) 03 Aug 2020 21:13:58
Last two times I have seen Freeman play I have been mighty unimpressed. We need to hold out for cash money only, given the the virus problems money needs to be spent wisely now.

2.) 03 Aug 2020 22:06:26
Good luck with spending it wisely 🤣🤣🤣.

3.) 04 Aug 2020 14:27:24
If Ben Chilwell worth 80m should we not get at least get
40m for cash! 😌.

4.) 04 Aug 2020 19:56:37
I don't think the Head Coach will get a say in the matter. The clue is in his job title.

5.) 07 Aug 2020 14:04:39
isn't freeman out of contract? so not likely to be part of any deal for cash.

6.) 07 Aug 2020 21:27:33
Kieron freeman is not luke freeman.
Makes no odds we isually sign freemen 😁.

This Greek Striker
Ivan Toney
Ollie Burke
Jack Colback
Oliver skipp
Creative midfielder

Then we’re good to go. Unlikely but we can dream!

1.) 08 Aug 2020 13:20:33
Why burke? Just not grown into the playerother clubs hoped.

2.) 08 Aug 2020 16:34:12
wouldnt fit Lamouchis style either, the midfielders sit in the middle and the two wingers have to run there arses off. can't see burke doing that! .
talented player but no good to us imo, its gone quite about Maddison lately now he`s a free agent i'd sooner sign him.

03 Aug 2020 08:43:34
Given C. V the market price of players has reduced. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see lots of changes this summer.
Cash, Worral and Grabban all may go for a good price. If we do sell our better players we need to make sure we properly replace them and not sign a load of foreign players ‘with potential’. I have no problem signing foreign players if they’re good enough.

With the current squad there’s plenty of dead wood to get rid of.

Meaning once they’re all gone.
5/ 6 quality players must be signed in order to have a good quality squad.
Squad being the key term their.
We haven’t had a solid quad for years. We’ve had a good starting 11 but not much past that. We need to make sure we have 2 players for each position that we can rely upon (back ups don’t have to be on the same level as starting players but they need to be good enough to come in for a few games when needed) . Only then will we ever see this club promoted.

1.) 03 Aug 2020 10:02:45
We'll get a clue when the "Retained List" comes out.

2.) 03 Aug 2020 10:07:54
I’ve no issue with any signings if they’re good . However, in the last few years total up the absurd money we’ve wasted - include all 3 Portuguese players in this - and tell me that we wouldn’t have been better off investing in Tomlin, Colback and one of the many decent strikers that have been available, follow said path and I’m quite sure we’d be promoted now. From a recruitment perspective our club is as badly run as the most badly run club and is much, much worse than in the days under pleat’s transfer panel. It’s a complete and utter joke, I can’t even be bothered to list the players that have been signed that should never have been signed, someone really needs to get a grip. Give Pearce a chance as a scout or recruitment advisor, he did ok on that space, perhaps as well as anyone ever has for years.

3.) 03 Aug 2020 10:33:54
I agree with the 2Star. Recruitment has been appalling.

4.) 03 Aug 2020 11:28:27
2star that's what i meant when i said it is THAT SIMPLE to remmedy our plight. Bringing in Diahakby typifies our policy. A player dropped from the huddersfield squad so not even playing at championship level yet deemed good enough to go straight into a promotion chasing forest eleven. We all knew the impact a tomlin had at this level yet let him go back to cardiff. He may be a difficult character but cardiff managed him well enough this season. The example of diahkaby says much of the players recruited over the last 3 years. Not playing at their clubs, not fit as a result and that mixed with the usual crocks is a lesson not learned year on year. Will it change
Anyone jumping in and mentioning money regarding tomlin then look at the crap we are paying huge wages to?

5.) 03 Aug 2020 11:52:09
I also agree with ff79 regarding angents. How can so much dross end up at forest. It must be lazy scouting with reliance on greedy agents who know how to rinse a few bob out of hopeless cases at clubs throught Europe.

6.) 03 Aug 2020 12:59:52
Have to agree with 2star, recruitment is not good enough. I have said it many times before I would bring Pearce in, can’t be any worse than what’s there now.

7.) 03 Aug 2020 15:12:28
Successful clubs who are eventually are promoted do not sell the family silver the year before . Look at Leeds or even Derby. The core of our team needs to be kept together ie changing 2-3 only. Forest has a better season than the previous in part due to the team not changing much.

It is an advantage that the manager hasn’t changed for the next season as the players know him. A good player to sign for the club is one who thinks we are going somewhere an ok player is one that is looking for a final payday and is not really interested in a long term future.

The problem with foreign scouts is they don’t understand the rough and tumble required of players in the championship. For all we know this could be Carvalhio ‘s issue . Silva is perhaps another. I suspect we will have more ‘ foreign gems ‘ and journeymen sadly and our stock will not rise.

02 Aug 2020 11:22:55
Cash and worral look likely to leave (not too fussed about Joe if we sign a top CB to replace him) . Don’t particularly want our RB options being Jenkinson and Darikwa. Don’t miss Darikwa but would prefer he were a back up to a quality RB.

Jenkinson can go especially the wages he’s likely on.

1.) 02 Aug 2020 16:16:15
If worrall does go we should sign cooper from millwall.

26 Jul 2020 13:35:11
CB - Daniel Ayala (free)
LB - Morgan Fox (Sheffield Wednesday, 2 mil)
CDM - Jack Colback (free)
CM - Alan Browne (Preston, 4 mil)
Winger - Jordan Ibe (free)
Striker - Lyle Taylor (free)

These would be the 6 signings I would make, this would give us enough quality in each position to challenge for promotion next season.

GK - Samba, Smith
RB - Cash, Darikwa
CB - Worral, Ayala, Figs, Dawson
LB - Ribeiro, Fox
CDM - Colback, Watson
CM - Browne, Sow, Yates
CAM - Silva, Johnson
RW - Lolley, Nuno
LW - Ibe, Ameobi
ST - Grabban, Taylor.

Add to that Mighten who can play on the wing or up front and that is a solid team that is more than capable of challenging for promotion whether that be through the play offs or automatic.

I just hope that if we stick with Sabri (which is looking likely) then we’ll back him and sign some good players.

Some pea poke might look at those options and wonder why I’ve included Jordan Ibe, my reasoning is that he’s got experience at PL level and for me would be a very good player in the Championship. Where he’s gain confidence and improve.

1.) 26 Jul 2020 13:52:10
not sure about daniel ayala, stoke look favourites to sign fox, colback, again not too sure i'd want him back but brown, ibe and taylor would definitely go for.

2.) 26 Jul 2020 13:59:47
I’d agree with most of them. But I’d try get someone like Gayle on loan or a cheeky bid 7/ 8m. Also luke freeman 2m
Wes Morgan out of contract be good back up.

3.) 26 Jul 2020 14:10:34
Wouldn’t mind big Wes back in fairness, then give Dawson a player coach role?

4.) 26 Jul 2020 15:44:10
What no Foreign players?
What's the matter with you ?

5.) 26 Jul 2020 16:19:55
Where is the £6 million for transfer fees and money for wages and signing on fees going to be coming from?

6.) 26 Jul 2020 16:30:34
Where's the foreign players that will be arriving?

7.) 26 Jul 2020 18:03:59
I would imagine that Mr M will realise he needs to invest in a few top players to get us over the line next season. So I’d imagine we’ll be able to afford these types of players.

Foreign players will most likely sign Carlo but we all know we need to sign some quality championship players to get back to the PL.

8.) 26 Jul 2020 21:15:56
The current squad is bloated and needs to be trimmed. The players we had on loan will all hopefully return to their parent club; Adama Diakhaby, Alfa Semedo, Aro Muric (we know this one is already confirmed) and John Bostock. Then there's Liam Bridcutt and Luke Steele that will also be removed from the wage bill as their contracts have expired. I think Hefele, Clough, Pantilimon and Benalouane all have another 12-months left and given their wages the best we can probably do is loan them out if anyone will have them. I'm not convinced that we've got a great deal of scope to spend 'big' from an FFP perspective and with our owner still facing the prospect of punitive action in Greece then I think the sale of a player we'd ideally like to keep is inevitable. This has been the case for the past few seasons (Burke, Brereton, Appiah, Osborn etc) . Recruitment in January 2020 was terrible, the team was crying out for an injection of quality but it never happened. Sabri has little or no say in transfers so any decision to retain him or sack him will have minimal impact on any incomings or outgoings. The season ending in the manner it did means we find ourselves at yet another crossroads but I honestly can't see a major injection of talent unless it's funded by player sales. With Olympiakos perhaps not in a position to take Carvalho off our hands at £10m+ then the departure of Cash and/ or Worrall is probably inevitable and that could be self-defeating as they'll need to be replaced. Time for Mr Anigo to earn his wages. At least we won't have long to find out!

9.) 26 Jul 2020 21:19:25
Big wes is far to old now.
Time to stop bringing back ex players for one last pay day.

10.) 26 Jul 2020 22:52:58
Totally agree red October.

11.) 26 Jul 2020 22:58:09
Carlo the foreign players are arriving by easy jet and will spend at least 14months in quarantine.

22 Jul 2020 21:32:04
What a joke. Standard Forest.

Unfortunately for us now our best players will be leaving us and next season will be a struggle.

Unless Mr M spends some money we’re in for a relegation battle next season.

Not good enough!

1.) 22 Jul 2020 21:38:48
he spent money lamouche spent it unwisely. get rid of the regular players who make the same mistakes every game. if you look at the points worral and cash and a few others have given away through there schoolboy mistakes throughout the season, forest would have gone up as champions.

Cash is on holiday at moment. A fee might have been agreed but he won’t be an official signing for anybody for at least another week.

I quite liked Milosovic in fairness. Thought he was a solid CB. Da Costa has showed glimpses of what he can do, I feel he just needs a solid pre season to be fully integrated and then get a run of games. Think there’s a good player in fairness. Silva as well I feel like he’s a good player just a little too lightweight, needs to play with more confidence like he does when we’re in winning positions. If he plays with confidence we have a player that can unlock defences and get lots of assists.

The rest I do agree on.

If we get promoted then I’d want somebody with more quality and someone a bit younger as he’s 30 I believe. But if we remain in the championship then I’d snap him up. Would allow Grabban to rest and still have a very good striker up front.

Realistically we need:
CM x2

If we want to be competitive and challenge for promotion next season. We need to sign good quality players to complement and improve the current starting 11.

Deadwood MUST be shifted.

Think we’d need to sign a midfielder with some height and strength to add Steel to that midfield. Mowatt, Colback and reed would all be very good signings. Heard Oliver Skipp of Spurs might be coming to us so potentially him over reed or Mowatt.
