Seen on Twitter we’re apparently linked with a move for livakovic (Croatian Goalkeeper) for 10 million.
If we are after a new keeper, surely it means deano is out for longer than the reported 4-6 weeks?

However, if we are to sign a keeper permanently, I would much prefer Kelleher from Liverpool. I think he’s going to be a top top keeper with regular game time.

TrentEndRed

1.) 19 Jan 2023 22:36:41
Would make sense to get a permanent number one now if Henderson not back til season almost over and then heads back to Old Trafford.

20 Dec 2022 09:26:40
Article from John Percy on an interview with Mr Marinakis suggests we’ll be adding 2/ 3 players on top of scarpa. A CB, midfielder and attacker were mentioned.

We desperately need a top CB with pace it is probably the decision that will mean we stay up or go down.

TrentEndRed

1.) 20 Dec 2022 11:26:33
Who is leaving then?

Bade for a new CB looks on.

Which attacker is on his way? Do we have space for another MF?

Colback?

We could buy youngsters?

2.) 20 Dec 2022 11:47:18
Bade will most definitely be going back Rennes, Mbe Soh looks like he’ll be going as well. That still leaves us with 5 CB’s (i think) but only Niakhate is a very good CB. Wouldn’t mind adding someone like Konsa from Villa, knows the league, has pace and is decent in the ball.

Midfield I imagine if we sign somebody it’ll be to replace Colback. However I wouldn’t say it’s urgent we sign a midfielder.

Forward I think if we sign one it’ll be to replace surridge. We need a top striker though as much as we’ve looked better going forward recently (the few games before the WC) a CB is still top priority for me. We were linked to Okafor in summer (RB Salzburg striker) he’s a serious young talent so maybe splashing some cash on him could be a serious move.

Scarpa will replace biancone.

3.) 28 Dec 2022 12:13:13
Definitely need more help upfront. Think Surridge may go out on loan to clear space.

4.) 28 Dec 2022 13:40:29
Striker is a priority. I have no idea why we got Dennis, especially for £20m…said it before and I’ll say it again: we had our pants pulled down when it came to paying that for Dennis. Almost as inept as a certain Silenzi.

5.) 29 Dec 2022 13:15:41
With Lingard and MGW likely out I would play Dennis upfront off Awoniyi. He's not a winger or a lone striker but could work as a No 10.

6.) 31 Dec 2022 13:18:02
I’ve been wondering what we will do against Chelsea TWF, we look a bit short on attackers now don’t we. Pretty sure it’ll be a 3 of Awoyni, Johnson and Dennis . If scarpa was eligible I’m certain he’d be in tomorrow .

7.) 31 Dec 2022 16:03:08
Johnson looked battered and bruised at the end of the last game but if he's fit then that would be the most likely trio upfront. Hoping for another striker in January but can't think of anybody off hand.

8.) 31 Dec 2022 20:37:54
It’s a difficult one as we’re after a unicorn, a player who can create his own chances and basically bury every chance they get - impossible to find these days - it’s collymore territory . I think awioyni will score goals if he gets a few more chances, he might not be everyone’s cuppa but he needs game time at home where we are mostly a much more offensive team, creating a decent amount of chances, he’s got no hope of shining away from home .

9.) 01 Jan 2023 23:27:13
Johnson and Awoniyi had chances this afternoon but their finishing still lacking. Aurier did fine with his chance!

10.) 03 Jan 2023 21:38:47
I agree with you mate - they’re not in that elite player bracket but I thought awyioni’s all round play added balance to the front three and gave it the most all cohesion I’ve seen this season . We do need goals though mate, we can turn it around if we can just score more goals - easier said than done in the premiership.

21 Oct 2022 16:36:57
We have to start surridge tomorrow. He’s movement is top class and if he plays off Trent and the CB next to him it will create space for our other attacking players who should be Johnson and MGW simply because of the pace they have. If we’re brave enough to try and play football against Liverpool I think that has to be our front three tomorrow.

TrentEndRed

1.) 22 Oct 2022 10:51:00
Agree Trent and without a surridge occupying two of their defenders they will push us back continually. It’s a situation that cooper has not had the courage or foresight to deploy at all which really bewilders.

2.) 22 Oct 2022 10:51:07
I think it'll be Dennis on the left, Johnson on the right and sadly I think he'll play Awoniyi (who is terrible! ) . Would love Surridge to get a run in the team.

3.) 22 Oct 2022 11:08:56
Awoniyi is a mystery to me. Can’t run can’t head couldn't trap a bag of cement and has a terrible shot. Ah well sounds like a hatrick today???

4.) 22 Oct 2022 14:26:21
Rutland, you should specialise in being wrong. But seriously, time to stop ripping into players we don't know much about yet.

Oh, and Ryan Yates IS A GOOD PLAYER.

5.) 22 Oct 2022 21:08:24
Cyclist boil your head you rarely post only come on to antagonise. Wise after the event that’s you???

6.) 23 Oct 2022 11:05:46
I'm sure he would boil his head but as energy prices are so high, do you think it would be ok if he just puts it on a low simmer?

7.) 23 Oct 2022 11:43:09
Nah it’s empty ginger so won’t take long????

8.) 26 Oct 2022 15:56:54
Wise after the event? I DEFINITELY posted on here that I think they should play Awoniyi for the Liverpool game. I also consistently said we need to be patient and give Cooper and these players time to gel and adjust to playing in a new division. DEFINITELY ON THE RECORD. ?

Awoniyi is now our top scorer with 3 goals from 5 starts. That is not terrible and he should improve as he adjusts to what Cooper wants and a new division.

And I'm not on here to antagonise, that was banter, as was the boil your head comment I hope. Just stop being wrong so often. ?

I do find it antagonistic, from those of you who started slagging off the players without giving them time to settle. New players often take time to bed in. New country, new manager (so new methods/ tactics), new teammates. The problem is we had to bring in a lot of new players, so it seems worse than usual as it is effectively a new team and these things don't happen overnight.

Please, fellow trickies, give this team and boss more time. We will have some more bad results. This team needs a few good results to build more spirit and identity. But the potential is there. We saw what Cooper can do last season.

9.) 26 Oct 2022 22:50:12
Well said cyclist
The pundits never take into account how many players we were left with after Wembley, seven or eight to be honest so a mass influx was needed,
140 million sounds a lot, but it isn't when the big boys buy two players for that.
It's alright saying we only needed to sign the loans and add two or three, we would not of picked a point up trust me and we wouldn't have the required 25 man squad and would suffer with just two injuries or suspensions.
Your right it does take time, especially with practically no preseason.
The only thing that really annoyed me was the name calling of Cooper after the miracle ha achieved last season.
I do believe he's made mistakes, which I'm sure he wouldn't deny and it's right to have a say on team selection on here, but he's not deserving of ridicule.

10.) 27 Oct 2022 09:52:49
Yes cyclist it was tongue in cheek but being wrong all the time isn’t me and I don’t make predictions just discuss what I feel. It’s my opinion and to some it’s wrong that’s ok.

I still feel surridge would bring a new dimension to our game and the goals that awoniyi ( awonya) has scored we’re the sort that surridge would also bury but would have buried a lot more.

Yes many of the players brought in supposedly didn’t have a pre season, then those that did got injuries. I think the arsenal game not the score so much but the energy and fluidity will dictate whether we have turned a corner…

11.) 27 Oct 2022 15:22:50
Agree that Surridge should get more of a chance. Prob won't start for the Arsenal game now though. If a striker is on a scoring run you simply have to play them so Awoniyi will start, if fit.

I also don't think we are suddenly world beaters. There is a fair bit of work needed to fully turn the corner. But we have got some good players and Cooper is the man to do it. Definitely not certainties to go down IMO.

I can see why Cooper wanted to try to play Lodi. He is obviously an attacking WB and suits Coopers system better than Toffolo. That's why he is trying to get Aurier in - to give more threat going forward. Feel sorry for Toffolo as he isn't a bad player.

12 Jan 2022 11:37:30
Scott twine - Midfielder - MK Dons, we’re supposedly interested in signing him. I’ve never seen him play but from the comments on Twitter he sounds like a very good player and one that would give us more creativity in midfield.

I believe we’ll still also go all out to try and bring Jed Wallace in, we have a clear interest and if reports are to be believed and Lyle Taylor is heading in the other direction then I have to say it’s great business. Would loved a second Jed at the club!

I still also think we’ll try and sort a deal out for lee Buchanan whether that’s a permenant transfer this month or we look to try and sign him on a free when his contract expires.

If we managed to bring these 3 in on-top of the 3 already signed then we will have a serious chance of promotion and would give us a solid foundation and platform for the premier league. That being said hard work from the players and the gaffer is a must if this is to become a reality. But I have faith in SC to get us promoted whether it’s this season or next!

COYR!

TrentEndRed

05 Jan 2022 19:14:39
Jed Wallace (Winger)
Lee Buchanan (LB)
Richie laryea (RB)

If we manage to get these 3 in on top on Davis, cook and Spence (loan extension) then we have a very real shot at a top 6 finish and a fight fro promotion! Exciting times!

TrentEndRed

1.) 06 Jan 2022 08:21:17
To add to the above:

Think it’s great we’re doing business early in the window. I think it’s fairly likely we’ll see Brennan leave towards the end of the window for 15 million+. If that’s the case then it’s smart from Forest to make sure we get our dealing done before clubs up their prices because we have money.
With these new signings and the reported signings we’re looking to make come off then we’re a stronger team than we were before the transfer window even if Brennan leaves.
Good work so far by Murphy, Cooper and the scouts!

2.) 07 Jan 2022 11:04:11
Wallace not coming to forest, he's said he wants to join a premiership club.

3.) 07 Jan 2022 12:56:48
Tell him to wait until the Summer then we will be:)

Then I woke up, still, nice to dream!

Not posted for a while but there is too much negativity around yesterday’s result.

I thought that was our best performance from an attacking sense in a long time, which is a massive positive. We’ve got great options going forward and that can be pivotal come the end of the season.

Defensively we aren’t bad. We are just shocking, absolutely shocking, at defending set pieces (other aspects of our defending is good) So Yates (as much as I like him) needs dropping because he’s needles could he makes will cost the team come the end of the season (not saying it was his fault yesterday). We need a leader, who is going to take control especially at set pieces and there isn’t one! Perhaps Felipe but I can’t see him playing a great deal.

It will be a struggle staying up, but I honestly can’t see Seff, Luton or Burnley staying up. As much as Luton have impressed over recent weeks I can’t see them picking up enough points. We just have to hope if we get a points deduction it isn’t 8 or more points otherwise we will be in trouble.

TrentEndRed

1.) 11 Feb 2024 10:39:11
Good post Trent End as yes Yates running around like demented Rhino just fouling everybody as per usual. No skillful elements to his game whatsoever. He needs moving on like Worrall ?.

2.) 11 Feb 2024 10:42:48
Good post trentendred.

3.) 11 Feb 2024 11:13:47
Forest have struggle defending set pieces for years and do not learn from there mistakes.

4.) 11 Feb 2024 11:39:11
Totally agree with you lads about Yates, he’s a very limited player, I suppose there will be a game during a season were he may be useful, perhaps coming off the bench for the last 20mins, but again he’d probably give the free kick away that leads to a goal. He’s certainly not premiership quality.
But perhaps Nuno thinks he has to give him game time to keep the majority of our fans onboard, there would be he’ll to pay if there were No home grown players in our team or squad. Another couple of talking points,
Why was Bruno, very good player by the way, left totally unmarked for the first goal, no one on the far post yet three players making one man on the near post including Williams, who was right fullback.
Could or should the keeper have done better on the third goal, slightly unsighted, yes, but I think he got enough of a hand on it to have pushed it around the post, still looks better than the others.
One more thing, has the new free kick coach started work yet ?‍??‍?.

5.) 11 Feb 2024 13:57:02
Balloons it's happened mate I finally agree with you on something

Absolutely spot on description running round like a rhino fouling people ? ?.

6.) 11 Feb 2024 17:32:53
I knew I could get you on the dark side eventually mate ???.

19 Dec 2023 13:52:41
Not posted for a while on here but with what’s coming out in the media I thought I’d pop a post on.

Gutted that cooper will be getting sacked, he’s done tremendous things for this football club and the wider community that we will all remember him for very fondly. However, it is the right decision given our performances and results over the past couple of months.

Regarding Nuno (very likely) coming in. I have to say I think it’s a good appointment did very well with wolves and while he wasn’t ‘great’ at spurs he still did reasonably well. From what I’ve seen of his teams it isn’t the most attacking brand of football but it’s effective, gets results and there is a clear pattern of play, which for me is a good things and an upgrade in cooper.

Regardless of who comes in we as fans need to fully get behind the new gaffer and coaching staff and makes sure we give the players and staff that extra push to get results!

COYR ?.

TrentEndRed

1.) 19 Dec 2023 13:58:47
By the sound of it maranakis as let cooper step down didn't want to sack him the time is right for the change we was in free fall.

2.) 19 Dec 2023 15:03:15
"Free fall". Now there's a quote from balloons post of the not so long past and got absolutely crucified for saying it. let's just put our differences aside and get behind the new coaching team. We are in a perilously dangerous position. Relegation a real threat If we stick and don't twist. ?.

3.) 19 Dec 2023 15:30:44
Santos out! ?.

4.) 19 Dec 2023 15:37:24
Yes we are in freefall mr skegs, it is the right thing to do or else the championship, footballers are a marsh lot, watch them sort themselves for the new manager.

19 Sep 2023 11:01:39
If you’d have said we’d be on 7 points from our first 5 games I’d have absolutely taken that. So while I’m disappointed we didn’t get the 3 points last night it’s been a solid start to the season and shows a clear improvement on last season.

There were signs last night of what this team can really do but there were also times where you can see it’s going to take a few games to really get going. I thought Turner, Alina and CHO were our best players last night and deserve the plaudits they get. Everyone else was a bit hit and miss, but for me McKenna can’t be starting for us in the PL especially in a back 4. Think if Niakhate played last night we’d have been a lot more solid defensively, I hope to see him starting games again soon.

Going forward I think the 4-2-3-1 could be a very effective formation once everyone has settled and I think SC will switch between this and the 5-3-2 depending on our opponents. I like that he tried that formation and it shows his willingness to change tactics which is already a positive for SC this season.

Onto the next one up the Forest ?.

TrentEndRed

1.) 19 Sep 2023 11:26:12
Excellent post and analysis Trent End! ??.

2.) 19 Sep 2023 13:19:11
Very well put mate.

01 Sep 2023 21:02:28
Baffled as to why we’ve left it until now to make these signings…. All good players that improve us but surely some of these could have been brought in weeks ago.

TrentEndRed

1.) 01 Sep 2023 21:32:31
Man U no money, Chelsea silly money and Saudi corruption. Weirdest window ever. As of now, better Forest window than last season. ?.

2.) 01 Sep 2023 21:48:05
That's why it's all happening on the last day scouse mate
More reasonable prices and availability
Been months of negotiations going on, no doubt, but the Arabs had first dibs at extortionate prices.

3.) 01 Sep 2023 21:49:14
Trent End. do you not think this is better than the likes of Bendtner, Bouchalakis, Carvahlio, Dias, to name a few?
Honestly!

4.) 01 Sep 2023 21:52:31
Quite a few of these signings were waiting for bigger offers that never came and concerns me a little.

5.) 01 Sep 2023 22:17:51
Rogie I'll now have nightmares ???.

6.) 01 Sep 2023 22:18:10
DTP. We've been more street wise this season. Most of the transfers have made sense. Young and hopefully hungrier players. Pleasantly surprised and hoping SC can gel them into a decent side. ?.

7.) 01 Sep 2023 22:21:19
They're all mercenaries, as long as they play for the shirt, not our concern. Maranakis has all the stress. ?.

8.) 01 Sep 2023 22:21:26
Why does that concern you redjames?
Of course they'll have had other offers and if they become world beaters we will have to sell them to the elite, that's football, they don't come for yen years swearing an allegiance to the badge anymore
Just saying.

9.) 01 Sep 2023 22:23:37
100% agree scouse.

10.) 01 Sep 2023 22:34:18
Wasn't carvahallo your Ronaldo dtp ??.

11.) 01 Sep 2023 22:37:52
Negotiation. Selling clubs hold out for the best deal they can get. Buyers are negotiating down and looking for better deals. If you're willing to pay over the odds and whatever fee the selling club asks, then you do the deals early, but that isn't the best way to spend your money.

12.) 01 Sep 2023 23:12:37
Sangare and I'll be overjoyed. Not happy it's late and dependent on BJ deal, so frustrating. ?.

31 Aug 2023 10:54:36
The rumoured signings don’t all make sense to me. If we’re sticking with a 5-2-1-2 formation why are we adding Ndidi/ Sanagre and Dominguez to a midfield of Yates, Danilo, Mangala and Santos (Kouyate and the other likely move on) I understand the need for depth but having 6 players that can play in the midfield 2 all with good qualities seems baffling to me.
Surely it would/ could mean we play a 4-3-1-2 more this season? With the players roulettes to be added the midfield in this formation would be a lot more balanced than last year when we played it.

Turner/ Greek fella in goal

Montiel and Neco at RB
Niakhate, Murillo, Felipe, Worrall, Harwood-bellis? / Boly or McKenna for CB
Tavares and Aina at RB

Ndidi/ Sangare and Mangala in the center
Dominguez and Yates to the right
Santos and Danilo to the left

MGW with Danilo as his back up

If Brennan leaves then:
Elanga and CHO as the wide attacker

Awoniyi and Batshuayi (plus wood) as the out and out strikers.

If that’s our team by the end of the window then wow what an improvement on last season, a lot more quality in the squad. I might have missed one or two players (Aurier I think will leave) but that team is very very good on paper.

TrentEndRed

1.) 31 Aug 2023 11:40:47
Agreed but It’s what you do with that team tho that counts mate.

2.) 31 Aug 2023 12:30:16
Different personnel, same tactics, though. Even at home.

3.) 31 Aug 2023 12:37:33
And overloaded with defensive-minded players.

4.) 31 Aug 2023 13:33:44
As a team that isn’t a fully established PL team I’d rather sacrifice a few goals if it means we’re more solid defensively. Those 0-0 results (which we need to add this season) add up and can save you a lot of hassle towards the end of the season.

Don’t think our performances in the league have been bad at all this season albeit 3 games in. We know we have tough away fixtures so I’d rather be more defensive and try a nick a point if possible (or a late winner even) but we can’t be losing by 3+ goals like we did last season. Of course though we need to have a lot more control against teams around us and create good chances against them. I trust SC to get it right this season in all honesty!

5.) 31 Aug 2023 16:49:18
I suppose, though, if a manager doesn't like playing attacking football then there is no need for attacking players. But if one or two of those few attackers do get injured then we will struggle even more than we are already going to. A couple of injuries in defensive position we can cope with but higher up the pitch and it will tell on us.

6.) 31 Aug 2023 18:40:30
If there is no need for attacking player's Mo how do we get goals? ?
Cooper needs to break the habit of defending and soaking up opposition attacks.
A balanced level of tactics is needed.

7.) 31 Aug 2023 19:54:44
Great how we think we can pick a side and the tactics and do better than Cooper?
Love football, but managing a bunch of millionaires and trying to keep them all happy can't be very easy.

He’s been poor for Leicester for a couple of seasons but prior to that he was one of the best holding midfielders in the league. If he can rediscover that form he’ll be a very good signing. Think with more runners around him like Yates, Danilo, Santos he should do well. Good option along with Mangala for a defensive midfielder.

TrentEndRed

{Ed001's Note - he has had a succession of injury problems, which is why he lost form. It is keeping him fit and not playing him in the centre of defence (which Rodgers did quite a lot) that is the key to getting the most from him.}

Reckon Hudson Odoi will go elsewhere if we get Elanga.

Just need a LB and CM on top of the above and we’re in a good position. Ideally we’d add another striker and quality CB and maybe another CM (loan)

Good post Rutland.
Not happy with the decision at the end but ultimately we should have dealt with the ball from the resulting corner. Had a few chances to get a goal or two as well so only ourselves to blame on the whole.

Like you say a much better unit under Nuno, I really think we’ll be fine this season. Just need to get wins against the teams around us!

Think there’s more nervousness because of the expectations we should and absolutely have to be beating Luton and the other teams around us. Especially given the squad we have.

On paper (never happens this way) we should be well in the fight for mid table 12th and above with the squad we have but this season for me was just about staying up again without having the worry of relegation going into the last 3/ 4 match days and an improvement on the pitch. It’s likely this will be the case for this season. My worry is SC makes the wrong subs at the wrong times, as soon as we went 2 up yesterday he started changing it, he should have let the game settle for 5-10 mins, then if he still wants to make the changes he did the game would be more settled and the outcome might have been different.

I also want to point out Aurier, he was slipping all over yesterday far more than any other player, does he not have Studs he could have worn? Or was it genuinely that bad it couldn’t be helped? If he’s chose blades/ moulds over studs then that’s a big mistake on his part.
