Trouble is, this season is now done for us. It's a dead rubber.
The players must know that.
With so much promise with decent players coming in over the summer everyone must be so down about how it's gone so far.
Imagine trying to motivate that.

I don't think any amount of excellent form from now on is going to get us in the play offs. We're not going to be able to attract anyone decent in the transfer window, who would come and play at this disaster of a club. Especially with 5 players for every position.

I don't see many decent players that came in.
Ive seen a few over the hill ones come in on 30k a week and so have the players already here.
Was never going to work and now we already need to ship most of them out, but there won't be any takers at their age and on their wages.
A mess has been created with no forsight for the future or how any of them could improve or fit into a team.
Just diabolical by the dof and marinakis for sanction it.

Before the poor performances, most people would have said McKenna, Passback, Knockheart, Taylor. hell even Christie are good players at this level.

And I don't know if I buy this thing about players not caring, picking up a pay cheque. If I had been any good I'd love to have played for 30k a year!

That was awful, absolutely terrible.
On paper a decent bunch of players, but deary deary me, utter dross, same as Lambrini. Makes me think the manager just doesn't pick the side OR the tactics, his job is to just stand in the technical area and scribble notes on bits of paper.
THAT WAS A DISGRACE.

I really think that's good news. He's a good player.

Can we be optimistic and think maybe that Worrall will actually stay and he plays McKenna AND Worrall?

I just hope we have plans to move on about 6 players who have barely appeared, just sitting (not even on the bench) collecting wages.

This is so obvious how much it's costing us, it must be impossible to shift them cause of their salary expectations.

I don't think anyone would pay 15M for him. And I can't see Millwall holding out for that kind of money either. Also I'd say he's a v good Champ player but I dunno about Prem.

If true that would be a good addition.

These players could be a good team though, that's the thing. But right now there's no passion, no belief, no bite, no desire. We don't get forward in numbers because we don't believe we're going to score. We're scared of losing on the counter, so we sit back and unsurprisingly, we end up defending.

Any team at any level, HAS to believe in their ability to hurt the opposition. At the moment we don't.

I really think this is a question of confidence. There's no getting away from the fact that the results are unacceptable. But if you look at the players we have, they are good players at this level.

The problem is going forward. I know it's a cliche to say that goals change games, but they do. It's not just the score they change, it's the dynamic of the game. If we had an attacking threat it puts opponents on the back foot. If we score first the opposition are chasing. We do have quality in our squad, but we need to score goals. As Cloughie used to say, the best form of defense is attack. We'd be singing the praises of our watertight defense if the dynamic of games could be changed by scoring an actual goal.

The ball doesn't seem to stick up front, and it's not surprising when there's only 1 person ever there. I actually think Guerrero is a good player too, can the hold the ball up well and should partner Taylor

We just need confidence from a few goals from open play.
