I am actually hopeful that we are at last adding qualities to a squad that were sadly lacking in parts last year. Just need to add a striker and ship out some of the journey men.

1.) 08 Jul 2019 10:16:53
Beware Greeks bearing Portuguese horses.

2.) 08 Jul 2019 14:09:14
Time will tell Tyke. We are signing players nobody as ever heard of but as soon as a name is mentioned everybody is an expert. As for shipping out some journey men about 25 should do it. 👍.

3.) 08 Jul 2019 17:56:32
I mean I had heard of all of our new signings, always been a fan of ameobi, semedo has always performed well and ribiero and silva have always seemed pretty solid to me.

4.) 08 Jul 2019 19:14:59
And how do you work that out red they've only played a few games between them over the last season they struggle to make the first team as they go out on loan its another massive gamble let's hope we don't get stuck at the wrong end of the table and still we are short of fire power.

5.) 08 Jul 2019 22:10:41
Hi skegs I don't normally come on here but I've got my reservations about new signings. Hope I'm proved wrong but why all the Portuguese, was that o'Neill's nail in the coffin as maybe they were always lined up and he said no way, he was reluctant to play j. c for a bit so heirachcy said take it or leave it? Player revolt we'll never know the true story but that's history now. Nottinghambenfic forest football club springs to mind. As I said hopefully they'll be alright so bring on next season and hope it's a good one. Anyway fellow reds I'm finishing my j. d and coke before bed. I'll be there regardless every game. Cheers all.

6.) 09 Jul 2019 10:49:33
Never look a Portuguese player in the mouth, while riding Greek gift horses. or something like that lol.

I think there are too many detractors of young Nigel's managerial career. He has proved very adept at managing clubs and taking them forward on little to no budget. Given the right environment he will do very well at Forest.

1.) 28 Jan 2017 20:25:33
Previous records are no indication of how things will turn out in the next job. The Dutchman that Mourinio has replaced proves that.

2.) 28 Jan 2017 21:27:09
No matter who the next manager is their biggest problem is going to be fawaz, I hope it is clough not for his history with the club but the fact his teams are hard to beat and he gets 100% out of his players but given our situation I wouldn't come unless he has it in writing unless fawaz comes through for once.

3.) 28 Jan 2017 23:33:02
Deadeye you are quite correct. Until the poison has been removed from our once great club it is immaterial which manager eventually takes over the reins. If Clough has any sense he will see through Fawaz's Bull and stay at Burton.

4.) 29 Jan 2017 12:02:05
Deep down Nigel knows he has taken Burton as far as he can, that is the only reason I can see him coming to Forest. Personally if I was him I would stay at Burton. He will never get anywhere near to what his dad achieved.

So Grosicki is off to WBA and I for one am quite glad as the Hull fans I know think he is a complete waste of money.

26 Dec 2019 18:47:55
Great away win with more passion and aggression than the opposition. Controlled the midfield, won challenge after challenge and in the end could have by 3 or 4. Sat amongst some very disgruntled Hull fans, in a good stadium only half full with no atmosphere, how lucky we are to have the City Ground full week after week.

1.) 26 Dec 2019 19:04:05
Back to winning ways!
Uuuu Redddds!

2.) 26 Dec 2019 21:20:39
Any ones thoughts why we won today 2 0 away and loose 4 0 to SW, is Fig, Sow Lolley?

3.) 26 Dec 2019 22:32:04
Figgy and Worral are the right combination in the middle. Chema has made us more solid on the left. Sow is a lynchpin for us because he is a proper Defensive Midfielder and can let Watson play a different game. You have to have the right people in the right roles and then others need to be adaptable so Semedo did what he had to do in Sow's place as did Yates - that's teamwork. Today we had more room against their Centrebacks than against SW and Grabban was fired up - should have had a hat trick. If we beat Wigan and concede no goals we are back in the mix. Someone has kicked some ass to get them to play so differently.

4.) 27 Dec 2019 00:00:06
That will be down to the gaffer then bsered you only after look at the top 2 and some of the top 6 that haven't won over the last few weeks to realise everyone goes through a bad patch and as everyone as said we can't score goals yet with our game in hand and if we win that 3rd place add the new striker midfielder winger in January if there good signings laughing all the way no panic in sl we trust this season or next simples.

5.) 27 Dec 2019 01:07:17
And ain't that the truth skeggs, best away record I've watched in years and yes the home form isn't as good, but it's an improvement.

6.) 27 Dec 2019 08:54:30
Yep, really needed those 3 points, if we win the game in hand that takes us level on points with 3rd, well done Forest.

Anyone know anything about Sow's injury?

Will people be saying it's a lucky win? Sounds like they worked hard to earn that and a clean sheet today but not a great watch according to Sky.

7.) 27 Dec 2019 09:46:27
Sky can do one terrible game Blackburn the other day Leeds West brom I've seen some terrible terrible games over the last few weeks from other clubs above us I don't mind if every game is terrible and come away with a win and a clean sheet take that all day long 😁👍.

8.) 27 Dec 2019 10:00:03
So right Skegsjay. 👍.

28 Aug 2019 07:23:00
Albert Adomah has the best delivery into the box I've seen in our side for a few years. Last night you would never guess we had made 8 changes. The football being played and the team spirit is on a different level to past years. Something is happening under SL that is really good, the players obviously want to play for him so let's enjoy the ride!

1.) 28 Aug 2019 09:49:30
Yeah, agreed, he was a good signing, glad Villa went up else we would not have got him.

Certainly seems the players are responding to Sabri and there are some encouraging signs.

Was great to see how desperate Worrall was to play last night, good lad.

Hope we can finish off a great month with a tough test against Preston on Sat, in recent times it's these teams we struggle against. Good luck for Sat.

2.) 28 Aug 2019 10:26:58
It’s all eyes on this game for me Ginger, yes it’s one game and there are many more teams to play like Preston . If we do well against them it will be a very good sign I think. If it doesn’t there a plenty more like them in coming weeks to show how we are progressing, it’s definitely teams like Preston that have been the banana skin in recent times, preventing us from becoming realistic top six contenders .

My kids all took a friend last night, six kids all properly indoctrinated now I feel - reds for life after such an enjoyable - it’s these evenings that give you the bug!

3.) 28 Aug 2019 10:37:47
Great recruiting 2 Star!
Great to hear "Psycho" mentioning John Robertson. one legend acknowledging another on Talk Sport last night. Uuuuuu Reddddsss!

4.) 28 Aug 2019 13:11:06
Ha ha, that's great 2star, what an introduction to Forest football, 'One of us, one of us':)

Sounds like they are working hard behind the scenes on the training ground, let us hope Sabri has a match winning plan for Sat.

What a strange end to the season. Bolton have my sympathy and will probably struggle next season. As for Forest we do need a massive clear out, Karanka was in the same position last year but never managed to fully prune out all the dead wood. We need perhaps 4 quality players, which includes at least 2 frontmen with a bit of pace and an eye for goal. We rely too much on Lolley and teams now realise this and try and kick him out of the game. Another creative midfielder and a left back and we should have a strong squad if we can move out about 14 players. 4 quality additions would with a smaller squad bring a totally different dynamic. Hope MON and RK can deliver and believe they will.

Spot on Tyke

26 Feb 2019 08:30:31
Great evening, what an atmosphere made the 250 mile round trip worth it. Our centre backs were immense, for the first time in a very long while I thought we looked composed and strong. Murphy ran his socks off and with a bit more support we could have caused more problems. MON and RK are class acts and their influence was seen clearly on that pitch last night. Still think the play offs are possible if we can continue to improve as momentum at this point of the season is everything.

Red Red doesn’t think Tiago Silva has adapted to the championship? Makes me laugh!

RedCyclist. I said he could only “rely” on a small squad, there are far too may he cannot rely on!

Too much bloody gloom and despair! Yes we got a lucky 3 points yesterday, but for those of us at KCOM on Thursday we saw a really energetic Forest beat Hull convincingly. Don’t underestimate what that took out of the squad! I believe SL knows that he can only rely on a relatively small squad and there needs to be more moving out of the dross this January and reinvestment in a small number of quality additions. Hefele, Benaloune, Carvalho, Mir, Muric must go!

Well this will be a true test of how the club react and also keep its supporters informed. Much was made of building bridges and getting the fan base on side, now the Chairman et al will have to earn their money. Karanka has been in a sulk for a while, none of us know why. If I had a choice I would give young Nigel a go, he’s done wonders without a budget and I believe he would do very well at Forest.

Agree about the build up, it was in slow motion. However I think Sow had one of his less combative games and constantly passed back or sideways and could see why SL wanted a bit more creativity at 0-0. As SL said we controlled the game for long periods against a side who put a lot of players behind the ball and nullified Lolley. Against Brentford et al we may get a more open game and that suits our style.

My round trip is 5 hours and I have a season ticket so don’t moan! Agree we were awful yesterday, but rather walk away with 3 points than be unlucky! SL has now a very good knowledge of his players who he does not want and who he trusts. We should start to see his type of player being recruited from now on!

Totally agree Garibaldi, the aggression we showed yesterday was the difference. As one Hull fan said “they just want it more than we do”! I had a quiet smile to myself and agreed!

In the late sentries and early eighties home attendances were pretty low compared to these days, over 22,000 was a good day, 27,000 was packed to the rafters!

So how many goals did Burke score for us?
