Oumar Gonzales looks like forest trying to do some early transfer business, looks like a good deal to me, ideal cover for worrall/ figs won't cost a great deal and young and ambitious hopefully another lower league gem.

1.) 12 Jul 2020 09:22:38
If he signs it’s because we’re are planning to sell Worrall.

2.) 12 Jul 2020 18:50:02
I think not, but Dawson won't play much next year and Benalouane and Hefele will be moved on soon, so we need a good centre back.

Heard Colback maybe moving back to Nottingham. Did alright for us would be ideal replacement for Watson.

Here is players I would let go:
GK - Steele, Pants, Smith
DF - Hefele, Bong, Cash (deal done)
MD - Bridcutt, Watson, Bostock, Semedo, Carvalho
FW - Clough, Diabolical, Adomah

Dawson to be player/ coach, so 15 players of wage bill and 18m funds.

Players to come in:
GK - J. Archer (Fulham - free)
DF - J. Orbita (Reading - Free)
DF - S. Mckenna (Aberdeen - 3m)
MD - H. Reed (Soton - 3m)
MD - A. Mowatt (Barnsley - 1m)
MD - J. Colback (Newcastle - Free)
MD - B. Whitman (Doncaster - 1.5m)
FW - K. Grant (Huddersfield - 6m)
FW - D. Loader (Reading - Free)
FW - J. Lowe (Wigan - 2m)
FW - R. Curtis (Portsmouth - 1.5)

So would maintain the core group we have with 11 players in at 18m would give plenty adaptability and a squad easily capable of finishing top 6 challenging for top 2 all season! Also leave a bit of space for loan to buy option of creative flair player.

Semedo and Diakhaby on loans anyway, and others like Bostock on 18 month contract. Steele and Bridcutt's contract ends about now?

2.) 29 Jul 2020 10:28:17
Think we’d need to sign a midfielder with some height and strength to add Steel to that midfield. Mowatt, Colback and reed would all be very good signings. Heard Oliver Skipp of Spurs might be coming to us so potentially him over reed or Mowatt.

3.) 29 Jul 2020 10:28:55
As I understood it Bostock is also on loan.

4.) 29 Jul 2020 11:54:21
Yes, we need not to try and rely on loan players one or two creative ones would be good but I think Skipp Is more defensive and would be a good shout but we never going to be able to buy him season long loan would be good though. I saw mowatt at Leeds and thought he would be a good player in the right squad. We still got Sow and Yates to add height and steel if needed but I rate Harrison Reed very highly tenacious and strong on the ball.

5.) 29 Jul 2020 11:57:36
Is Silva on loan?

6.) 29 Jul 2020 15:17:09
No, He signed 2 year deal, finished 2021 don’t know if option to extend. Hoping to see him more consistent next year, seemed to go off the boil after manager dropped him suddenly to bench to play 3 defensive midfielders.

Just been watching Man Utd v villa, villa on top and var give penalty to Man Utd when Man Utd player jumps into the villa player who can't get out of the way. 12 pens given by var to Man Utd it is ridiculous it in has changed the game and var is going to ruin football as a entertainment for the fans.

montyred

1.) 09 Jul 2020 21:21:49
I hate var but the ref gave it, his mistake, poor, game changer,

2.) 10 Jul 2020 10:42:34
VAR should be saying to the refs think you might need to look at that an then the on field ref makes the decisions cus at the min there’s no need for refs an linesman cus var does it, it was bought in to stop the howlers from referees not to ref the games for them.

3.) 10 Jul 2020 11:21:18
Premier league said VAR got all 3 penalty decisions wrong on Thursday night! So how can it be fit for purpose In the way it is used at present That decision could ultimately cost villa premier league status. I just hope that they change the rules on its use for next year, especially if we make it to the promised land and I hope championship rejects its use if we don’t go up.

{Ed001's Note - FIFA are to take control of it. In large part because of the mess in the Prem.}

4.) 10 Jul 2020 13:43:43
What will cost villa their premiership place is their inability to compete at that level.

5.) 10 Jul 2020 14:21:47
Theyve done a fulham and spent 100million but have'nt bought quality.

6.) 10 Jul 2020 16:20:52
VAR is not the problem . It is fine in Rugby, Tennis, Cricket, and Hockey and maybe more. The problem is the human interpreting the action. This is a job for a senior referee as it is so critical. In the sports above you are only allowed a number of requests as captain for reviews. If you use them I’ll advisedly though. The referee runs the game and still makes all the decisions but the captain of both teams have their allotted reviews. Our good example was Arters handball for Fulham prior to a Goal missed by the referee but seen by the players . If Watson was wrong and the goal stood, Forest would loose one if their two first half challenges of right then we would still have two challenges left.

7.) 10 Jul 2020 20:17:37
Var was bought in to please the coaches who felt hard done to by referee decisions.

Its made no difference because now var is making them even more angry.
I know its not the system that is at fault, just the fruit cakes watching it and making a decision.
Hope they don't get called up for jury duty as even if innocent someone will be doing a long stretch. 😁😁.

Interesting weekend of games all 8 teams around us playing each other. A win on Monday night would be massive for playoffs.

montyred

1.) 29 Feb 2020 12:50:40
Still one eye on the teams above us. 🧐.

08 Feb 2020 18:18:59
Good first half keep it you reds. Shame Watson didn't see the easy ball to silva who was completely unmarked.

1.) 08 Feb 2020 19:14:34
Leeds have had 3 players booked, they might get someone sent off.

07 Feb 2020 12:36:38
I like where the club are going in it's winter transfer policy, letting players go to other clubs as they have realised they not good to be in first 11 and replacing them with players with something to prove who do not break ffp rules and can push the 1st 11.

Also the under23 are building quite an attacking vibrant side, which could be very useful next year or so whichever league we are in.

montyred

1.) 07 Feb 2020 12:57:54
They are also looking to bring in talented young players from abroad to go in the under 23s hoping to save money in the long term.

2.) 07 Feb 2020 15:20:43
Yep, Arsenal saved millions when they were building their stadium with a policy of spending a decent amount on youngsters. If only one out of four make it it still saves the club money so I'm all for it.

3.) 07 Feb 2020 16:36:17
End of the season is the time to judge the clubs winter transfer policy. Best chance we've had in years to get up and that winter window didn't obviously add quality to the areas we need.

Still heavily reliant on Sow, Grabban and Watson staying fit to the end. i'm all for looking lopng term, but have we added enough to get us over the line.

4.) 07 Feb 2020 17:42:12
I know it is not what to read but no regular goalscorer, which includes Grabban would want to be either constantly swapping and changing with another striker, or waiting on the side lines for the other striker to get injured, suspended, or simply to tired to play. I agree about Sow Bostock might do well good enough to cover for Watson untill seasons end.

5.) 07 Feb 2020 18:19:13
Cjay I’m praying we’ve added enough to keep us in play offs. But it annoys me we didn’t gamble and spend on proven quality with league there for the taking. Especially with the back up of selling cash to balance books if gamble didn’t pay off.

6.) 07 Feb 2020 18:44:03
Welcome back Cjay: your common sense has been sorely missed.the transfer window looks to be underwhelming.

7.) 07 Feb 2020 20:41:03
Good to see we're still calling players crap before we've given them a chance. Top work, fans.

Samba, Worrall, Ribeiro, Watson, Sow, Ameobi etc. probably wouldn't even be at the club if fans had a say last Summer.

8.) 07 Feb 2020 20:56:19
As I’ve said before that window for me was a bad one the gaffer definitely wasn’t backed but it’s not stopping him from trying to do is job anything happens to Grabban Lolley cashmere in trouble.

9.) 07 Feb 2020 22:08:29
No club did great buisness though it's just a window where clubs try to discard players, not one where you can build.

10.) 07 Feb 2020 22:44:06
Not all clubs at the top needed to build but we should of took advantage of that I would imagine we're well in with ffp with what we've sold and what we've bought in but as I say I think it's more about next season than this one so I will enjoy the ride.

11.) 08 Feb 2020 08:55:19
So what we should have done is gone to the Premier league clubs or our championship rivals and said we want your best player and they would of gladly let us have them to help our promotion cause.
Cant believe that didn't happen.

Never rated him at derby bang average player, better out there. Not a deal that fills me that this summer recruitment is going to be any good.

How does an IT manager get to be a DOF, I am very interested as an IT manager myself, maybe should apply but feel maybe missing something that carries a bit of weight on my CV 😁.

I think if we don’t get up he will stay another year very much depends when his contract up if we don’t go up and he only got year left will have to sell. Think cash will be gone in summer but if we get good money then chance to use that for building stronger squad which we need.

Maybe the manager knows what he can do from his time at Rennes.

Massive game today be happy with a 1-0 an DA Costa to score. Sammy two goals v Swansea were massive, chance for da Costa to prove his worth for the team, he has had a few games to get up to speed now. Vote don’t want to leave it till last game even though Stoke have nothing to play for as safe now.

Interesting that no cash or cavhalo in the squad the two most likely to leave for good money, deals underway perhaps. See premiership now get till Oct 16 to take EFL players should have made it loan deals only, have no idea how this helps English football as the big clubs are stockpiling young players.
