I think any manager without a job should view this as a can't lose situation ! If they fail, they get 3 years pay for 6 months work and are just another manager that cannot work with Fawaz interferring. If they succeed, they will be heralded as the saviours of Nottingham Forest. So, either CV intact or CV greatly enhanced!

I would agree to a certain extent. It hasn't done wonders for Dougie or PM. I wouldn't personally go for it if I was a Rowett or Giggs (trying to start their Career ) but if I am a BD or Oscar Garcia who has been around then 100% take this job.

2.) 17 Jan 2017 13:06:08
Rowett is ruled out, Clough has said he's not interested, relations between Fawaz and BD have already broken down. Sorry reds fans but no one from within the uk wants to manage us.

3.) 17 Jan 2017 14:41:05
Yeah Garcia seems to be the only one interested. is he any better than PM. we are in trouble if we lose Lansbury and Cash. Never invested the Burke money into the squad. Never invested the Antonio money. Last time we did invest into the Squad, we got a embargo slapped on us. just sell the CLUB Fawaz!

4.) 17 Jan 2017 18:30:48
He should ask Dougie to come back to get us the points we need.

5.) 17 Jan 2017 20:19:48
There is no way we should go for Giggs, unproven and if you listen to him speak gor more than 2 minutes you'd fall asleep. Garcia could be good but doubt he would come. Jackett could be a good option. Although i think Clough is a limited manager he managed to keep a poor Derby side up for a few years and chosing him would destabilise another relegation rival and we need all the help we can get

Nice to see that the Ipswich game has been pushed back to SUNDAY to avoid the County game! Seems a strange decision to me as Ipswich will probably bring as many supporters as the total crowd for County - Police must need the overtime LOL

Goose Fair weekend is obviously a factor as well. In previous seasons both Notts & Forest have played away this weekend.

FOREST WEBSITE:

Cohen announced as captain.

Lower Bridgeford "reclaimed seats" prices to be reduced to same price as Lower trentend.

Just need these 2 signings now!

nffc1954

1.) Cohen is and rightfully announced as our Promotion captain.
The joker who said Wilson named captain needs to get his facts right first.
coyr

2.) Also Andy Reid vice captain so I guess Cohen is going to defo be playing regularly probably as left back but possibly also in midfield and I guess Andy Reid will feature regularly as well.

3.) With regards to the Joker who said wilson for captain if Wilson does sign there is still a chance he could be given the armband. Also get your facts right this is not called transfer facts its called transfer rumours, get over yourself. The squad numbers had to be given yesterday but there can still be addition and alterations. By the way that is a fact!

Apparently the sheep are building a new training ground according to this newspaper headline:

"Wayne and Coleen Rooney get something to bleat about: Farming neighbour of their £20m Cheshire mansion plans new shed housing 200 sheep".

I’ve been bought up to support Forest by my dad…. the first match I went to see live was in the 1990-91 season, I was 9 standing in the trent end with my dad it was Forest v QPR division one…. Brian Clough was the manager and I remember Nigel scoring from the spot to make it 1-1 and have been a loyal supporter ever since…. I maybe mistaken but remember going to Wembley the following year 91 to watch Forest win the zenith data systems cup beating Southampton by 3-2 that was the time a young lad called Andy Marriott was in goal to replace the injured mark crossley.
Looking back I always remember my dad calling Forest (Notts) Forest and never thinking it was disrespectful to the club…. I used to think back then when I was a kid that Notts was just short for Nottingham…so why is it frowned up on these days?

2.) 12 Oct 2021 12:58:58
I think it just comes from N#tts is an abbreviation of the county damson and Nottingham is the city mate.

3.) 12 Oct 2021 13:10:26
Just read a little write up on majewski, i always had a soft spot for the kid, creative, hard working and scored some cracking goals for us. he's just about finished with football now. Wish you all the best in the future young sir 👌.

4.) 12 Oct 2021 13:12:50
Thanks Bowie mate good point well made 👍.

5.) 12 Oct 2021 17:21:56
Jolly forester, I went to that final. You got your money's worth, extra time, Scott Gemmill scoring with a few minutes to go. Pearce getting injured after 16 minutes, and I thought Kingsley Black played great that day. I brought the video of the final, still have it.
But the journey home to Nottingham took ages. You could smoke on the coach then, me and my mate got threw twenty fags just getting back to Nottingham.

6.) 12 Oct 2021 17:53:55
I agree Kingsley black played a blinder in that game Red Tan…. it’s definitely a game I will always remember as I was there with my late father…. we was sat next to Andy Marriotts grand parents that game they came across as really nice people…I wonder what happened to Marriotts career after he left Forest.

7.) 12 Oct 2021 19:27:10
I don't know about Marriott's career after forest, like Middleton goalies get a raw deal! . I used to work as a supply caretaker for schools in Nottingham, one day Steve Chettle came to do a skills course with the pupils, believe me I was the biggest kid there that day. It was great.

8.) 12 Oct 2021 23:43:59
Steve Chettle was a great defender he always gave his best and stayed loyal to Forest…. one of the best players to represent Forest IMO…Red Tan I think Steve is the manager of Basford united…. googled Andrew Marriott and he seems to have been a bit of a Journey man since leaving Forest.

If there are still objections lodged for the ground developement why go on?
As they say the broadmarsh land is as big as wembley stadium, build a new stadium there with all the travel links so close.
Nott's CC could then regenerate the city ground area with housing ect. and name all the streets and roads after Forest Greats.

nffc1954

1.) 18 Jul 2021 14:57:09
54, I couldn’t agree more it’s staring the city council in the face, the muppets that have destroyed this city won’t even have realised it’s the only way to create some economic value from that land . In Addition the existing ground could be sold to developers . As you rightly say all the streets around could be named after greats with a German themed street and a Spanish themed street . we’ve also had a few great players of colour and we still have a large Afro Caribbean population in nottm city so we not also create a Jamaican quarter as well.

The anti progressive council probably don’t want to upset the geriatric sad pie fans, there are so many things that could be done but nothing good will ever happen in nottm with this set of clowns . A visit to many other cities are testament to the damage that’s been to nottm, so many have risen again but it takes courage and ambition - they have neither I’m afraid .

2.) 18 Jul 2021 17:04:26
I agree with the clown comments. The City Council is useless!

3.) 18 Jul 2021 17:04:57
Great ideas 1954 and 2star.

4.) 18 Jul 2021 17:56:04
This great city needs something to reignite cyclist .

5.) 18 Jul 2021 18:39:12
Yes, we don't need a green space and posh flats in the middle of the city. We already have that stuff. No more elitist nonsense. Give the people something.

6.) 18 Jul 2021 20:16:53
It would make games much more accessible to disabled and elderly fans too.

7.) 18 Jul 2021 21:42:52
City council planners over the years have ruined Nottms historic city centre, pulling down every decent building Nottm had and allowed monstrosities to be built in their place. I have absolutely no faith in them making worthy decisions.

8.) 18 Jul 2021 22:46:38
I think nice student flats is the answer , sort of oblong shape with a pink exterior!
CARLO

9.) 18 Jul 2021 23:21:23
Yes trentender the magnitude of what you describe is far worse than you imagine to be, once you delve into it it’s horrifying what they’ve done .

10.) 18 Jul 2021 23:56:28
The whole reason marinades bought the club was for where it is.
Got a new long lease straight away and then wants to build flats on prime land to get his finance back.
Personally would not give the place a second thought to live.
Flats are a nightmare to live in unless you don't like staying in and paying half a million plus just makes me laugh. 🤣🤣🤣.

11.) 19 Jul 2021 13:05:53
Your talking about a city council that has one of the most recognizable brands in the world ‘ Robin hood’ And makes absolutely nothing of it, in fact they even tried to disassociate themselves from it, and spent a fortune on a new logo for Nottingham, a slanty ‘N’ and then realized what clowns they looked at spent more changing it back, don’t expect any forward thinking from these clowns, they have allowed one of the best city centres in the country to deteriorate, into one of the worst, they spent an absolute fortune turning a picturesque market square, with nice fountains, into a slab of concrete, straight out of the ussr design manual,

12.) 19 Jul 2021 14:58:08
All the ideas are great but Fff79 is the only one who realises that without all the let's call them apartments the Greek wouldn't have nvest in a new stand let alone a new stadium on another site. He needs the profit from apartments to fund the stand. No apartments no stand. New site is irrelevant.

13.) 19 Jul 2021 15:40:37
Or perhaps the city council and marinakis could collaborate to Create a win / win situation, like other pioneering places such as Brentford, Middlesbrough, Sunderland etc.
The City Ground, forest and the city council have one very big characteristic that binds them- they’re all stuck in the 1970, / 80’s.

14.) 19 Jul 2021 22:24:50
They will 2 star as the council is bust because of its failed energy gamble.
Marinakis has the money plus the lease so it will happen.

15.) 19 Jul 2021 22:28:45
the city ground is in the county not the city. and broad marsh, i'm sure they will put up student accomidation.

So no official words from Forest on any tribute to Peter Taylor as it's the 29th anniversary of his passing today.
He was at the helm with Brian during our most successful years and should be given a similar tribute tomorrow.

nffc1954

1.) 04 Oct 2019 17:04:14
100% Agree mate.

2.) 04 Oct 2019 18:21:03
It does need to be official we could do it ourselves! 29th minute stand up and chant PT's name. Simple.

3.) 04 Oct 2019 19:53:30
That would be a very fitting tribute. Peter Taylor's contribution should never be underestimated OR forgotten.

4.) 04 Oct 2019 20:03:13
Pass it round guys 29th minute applause.
Agree?

5.) 04 Oct 2019 20:28:42
It’s abysmal the club aren’t doing something.

6.) 04 Oct 2019 21:12:35
Well said guys. I cannot be there tomorrow but will be a happy clapper in celebration of the main man when it came to picking talent!

COYR's.

7.) 04 Oct 2019 21:39:11
For too long the forgotten man and its to be hoped that some recognition is given tomorrow and the new stand will be worthy of him.

8.) 04 Oct 2019 22:14:01
Peter Taylor will never be forgotten by us older fans, and forest fans in general, they were a magnificent partnership and never the same without each other.

9.) 05 Oct 2019 09:23:14
Well said Fm.

Terrible, what has happened to "we will keep supporters informed"!
Not even had a refund for last season and emails seem to just go into a black hole.
Surely they should have plans in place by now.

No one has received their season cards yet so, all you need is your customer reference number to claim.
I'm sure a receipt would also suffice, but worth checking.

Wouldn't blame him at all with all the abuse he gets !!!

People need to understand that he is spending his own money on our beloved club and that he wouldn't just waste his hard earned cash.
