West Ham out of the bottom 3 - it's squeaky bum time for Spurs fans!
It's ok, I'm a Forest fanatic - my Mrs said my bum always squeaks. 😆

Well, I got that one wrong. I really thought Wolves would win that one. Well, I hope our rested players can get something on Sunday.

I still feel fairly confident that Spurs are stuffed, bringing in De Zerbi is definitely the wrong move imo. He is an attacking pressing coach and a notoriously slow starter with results. That, in my mind, hints that his tactics are complex and take time to implement.

Time is something they don't have, like the rest of the sides around them (us included). But a massive advantage to ourselves and West Ham is that our pair of Portuguese managers know how to navigate a relegation battle. COYR. 🌳

I've just heard that a Forest fan sadly passed away after the game in Portugal.
My condolences to his family and friends.
Rest In Peace.

Very sad news...

I’ll rewatch the game later on Forest TV. I can’t add much to the perceptive and accurate comments already posted on here except a couple of points….
We have a good goalkeeping department. Ortega was faultless last night, kept us in it and will push Sels for Sunday's game (although I think Sels will still be first choice). Our big lad Angus at 3rd choice shows we have depth in this area.

Like Steve Hodge last night, and seeing repeats, I still don’t understand why our goal was chalked off. The fact that VAR took a long, long time to decide tells you everything.

Porto are a very good team and definitely were, overall, better than us last night. I saw them at the City Ground when we beat them 2 nil in Dyche's first game and I thought the same. A good result for us on both occasions.

We have a slight edge over Villa for Sunday's game recovery wise.

Ok we’ve both had 3 weeks off but Villa went strong last night and made late subs ie 80th minute then 2 on 88. All their players put a shift in against a Bologna side that, like Porto, were very good, according to reports. Unlike us, though, Villa have put their tie to bed so that will be a boost for them.

Looking forward to Sunday. Tonight, I will be a Wolves fan but I think West Ham will beat them and Spurs will get a new manager bounce against Sunderland. Leeds away at Man Utd Monday. So, 7 games to go and they’re all cup finals. We can only look to our own performances….

Incidentally, I thought it was indicative of how good a coach VP and how well he respected in the numerous teams he’s managed. I read somewhere that he holds the record for win percentages at Porto, beating even Morinho. Coyr!

Hi Stokey, Keith Hackett, former PGMOL boss and FIFA ref, has stated that the goal was a good goal and should not have been chalked off. He said that the goalkeeper came for the ball, didn't get it under control, threw himself to the floor, and watched Jesus score. Another poor decision by a ref and VAR!

10 Apr 2026 15:26:13
That's exactly how it happened!!!

10 Apr 2026 15:38:27
I think it was the knee to the head that did it.

10 Apr 2026 15:39:36
Anyway, I'm not complaining. We were more than lucky with a draw. COYR.

10 Apr 2026 15:49:17
That's how I saw it too. I've seen it numerous times now. The ball was in the net before the keeper made any feigned injury to his head. VAR checked the supposed handball numerous times too.
I've said before, many times, that VAR should be there for the obvious blooper by the ref, not reasons to disallow.

Last night he gave the goal before Porto's players made a fuss around him. Should have stayed (like cricket) with the on-field decision, as per umpire's call.

Not many posters have said how well our second 11 did to keep Porto at bay. It shows that Bakwa, Ndoye, Mactee and Abbott just need game time to show us their talents. Abbott made some very good interceptions, and Ndoye and Bakwa were more than adequate wing-backs against a very good attacking side. Agreed, it took 15 mins to settle, and that own goal deflated Porto a bit. I didn't agree with Steve Hodge saying we got away with murder.

Mactee gets better each time he plays, and has a good shot on him. Yatesy was disappointing, and Wood - what do you expect. I accept I am a fan of Tiawo and do know he couldn't play in this tie; however, he would have been a better player to bring on than Jesus. I suspect Jesus will start on Sunday, with Wood coming on as required.

Wouldn't really agree on cupoftea, as Balloons calls him. Bakwa had a great game for me. Yatesy was, well, erm, typical Yatesy. If only he could get the ball more. He still put a shift in.

Ortega was brilliant. Abbott had a decent game. It was the line of defence. Worrying, to say the least. MGW was very quiet. Don't let pundits get to ya, Nuno. We all have our own views.

If you look on live chat, you'll find there was a lot of praise for our so-called second string, Nuno. Cupoftee is still massively letting down his potential, imo. 30 million for a player who was supposed to be fantastic, according to the Messiah (insert sarcastic tone), Pep.

If they come in for Anderson, we should include a clause that they have to buy Cupoftee back for 40 million. 10 million compensation for pulling our pants down. 🌳

I was hoping for a better performance. I was expecting a better performance. Three weeks to prepare the players, the line up, the tactics and they were all over the place. Could easily have lost by 6. I assume half a dozen of them won't be seen on Sunday so I hope our first choice eleven are better prepared than that last night.

Of course I'll settle for the draw but if we play like that on Sunday, Villa will blow us away. Ps. Best own goal I've ever seen.

10 Apr 2026 09:47:58
I actually think we performed better than you suggest, mate.
Yes, we rode our luck; you would expect our keeper to save that header just before the break. The 2 previous chances, yes, we rode our luck.
We played pretty well after the equaliser, and in spells in the second half, against a side who are formidable at home.

I also think Porto got away with one; that second should have stood, as the keeper was already going after Jesus clipped his head with his knee, mate. Just my opinion.

10 Apr 2026 10:15:27
I agree with you, Rogie. Definitely wasn't a terrible performance, and nothing wrong with Jesus's goal. To go away to an elite European side and come back with a draw is nothing to be sniffed at. I actually think, taking current form into the matter, Porto is the hardest opponent we could have drawn alongside Villa. 🌳

10 Apr 2026 10:36:36
I'd have taken a draw last night. And a great goal we didn't score last night. He really didn't want to be on the pitch after that. 🤣🤣

Very good result and performance from the fringe players. 1-1 away to Porto is fantastic.
I've seen a few posts of the Reds bring lucky or getting away with one - well if you don't take your chances you don't win games! I think we've seen a certain team in Red not put away chances created this season, so it's a battling earned draw!

Very strange game. We never seemed to be actually in it. They were better, quicker and more skilled than us yet we came out with a draw and saved most of our players for Sunday.
We should beat them at home. Woods disappointing but needs time. We showed more fire when Jesus came on.
Luck was on our side tonight.

10 Apr 2026 01:31:44
Woods disappointing?

What did you expect? Give the guy a chance. He's not Messi.

We got away with one tonight. Nearly conceded in the 1st minute. Could easily have been 3 down after 10 minutes.

But all's well that ends well. No injuries. Noticed Villa played their best eleven tonight. We got away with one tonight.

Some of the Forest fans I have met over the last few days truly make me humble, and proud to be a fellow Forest fan.

Sacrifices made. s*** journey endured. Including a 12 year old, with her dad, who has only missed two games in the last five years. And one of them was a pre season friendly away to PSV Eindhoven lol.

So pleased I made the effort. Must admit it was 50/50. But times like this stay with you forever.

Up the Reds.

I didn't expect Woods just to be given a run-out as he was. He had 11 touches, and no crosses to feed on, but for me he would have made more of an impression coming on for the last 30 minutes, with Jesus on for the rest of the game.

I don't expect much from him yet, but he has to be used tactically, as he's nowhere near match fit.

For me, as I said on live chat. Keeps the 2nd strings heads up. Makes em feel needed. Coach done a decent job. But only way we were gonna score, a fluke. And they missed some stinkers. Got away with one. We fight on. Massive game Sunday. Focus really needed.

Amazing atmosphere last 2 days.

Take a draw all day long. Especially after first 10 minutes.

So the lads and ladettes are discussing cheese, while the Reds try to put the cork in a bottle of port! So I am currently in North Yorkshire, assisting my missus recuperate from helping me! We have Wensleydale Blue, Wensleydale with ginger and pure Wensleydale - omg tasty, and the cheese!

Sounds lovely Keef, I also like Red Leicester, and any cheese with loads of garlic.

Okay, I'll admit I love Yorkshire Wensleydale with cranberries. I can eat the whole slab in one sitting. 🌳
