There have been posts about Hackney from Middlesbrough. Probably their most important match for a long while, yet he doesn’t come on till the 70th minute. So his manager doesn’t rate him apparently, so why he come to us.

Apology may be due, as Middlesbrough had a very good win ratio with him in the team. Then, 8 weeks ago (BBC), he was injured, and it may have been his first game back.

2.) 23 May 2026 19:42:45
Hackney is coming back from an injury.

No Foden, No Palmer = MGW.

Was listening to Talksport on the way home earlier, and they were saying no MGW either. So who knows?. ?

2.) 21 May 2026 20:01:04
MGW deserves to get a place. But we do have a coach from Germany. ? ??. This is England, or it was.

3.) 21 May 2026 20:44:53
By sounds of it GW not in the squad. Gotta be something personal, cuz what more could he have done. Most goals for England player in 26, just won player of the month and 16 prem goals from midfield, main reason we stayed up.

Can't be a Forest bias, cuz he's picked Ando. Feel for him.

Being honest, not really looking forward to the World Cup, n this puts another nail in.

4.) 21 May 2026 21:20:14
MGW won't make it.
Tuchel doesn't like flair, just plodders he can control.

5.) 21 May 2026 20:47:03
Maybe if their names were.
Cole "Panzer"??
Morgan Gibbs "Reich?? "
"Fuerer Foden???
???

6.) 22 May 2026 09:52:56
Rogie, ...
"Guten Morgan"? ?

7.) 22 May 2026 09:54:45
Perhaps Tommy Turtle confused "MGW" with "BMW"?

8.) 22 May 2026 12:43:01
Stokey!

9.) 22 May 2026 13:10:05
What? ??? Rogie, I predict the fans will be "Bayern" for Tuchel's blood if we fail at the World Cup, mate. ???

10.) 22 May 2026 13:12:02
Tuchel might even have to "Hanover" the reigns to someone else when he's sacked .....
Ok I'll stop there .....

11.) 22 May 2026 13:15:26
I'm just glad Elliot 'Audi' Anderson made the squad, definitely "Vorsprung durch Technik". ?

12.) 22 May 2026 13:16:40
Tuchel will have to move on to another job in order to "Fuhrer" his career imo. It will take years to "Heil" the years of hurt from this World Cup mate. .

I have said before about Harvey Elliot, if he could be persuaded to come to Forest, he would be an excellent signing and maybe cost < 30M.

Thinking ahead to new players who I would go for should MGW and Murillo leave. Should MGW get in the National side which he absolutely deserves, other clubs might realise what an asset he is. Harvey Elliot can’t even get in the Aston Villa team so I am sure he could be signed for < 30 m. For Murillo I would sign Jarell Quansa. Both these players were in the same team as Hutchison and McAtee that won the under 21 Euros.

All these players are 23 and I think if VP gets them under his wing, they will do well. We have seen the potential talent in Hutchison and McAtee and next season we will get consistency. Elliot and Quansa may be tempted to come because of their ex 21 team mates.

I'd go for Summerville from West Ham when they go down, fit in perfectly.
All be down to who leaves, but I imagine we have targets in mind already.
World Cup will cause problems getting transfers done, though, and any we sign who are involved won't get a real chance of preseason knockabouts.

2.) 12 May 2026 21:20:46
I like Sommerville as well, mate...
"Smalltown Boy" was a classic!!!.
???

3.) 13 May 2026 08:24:03
I didn't know he was Ian Hislop's stunt double. Great singer though. In his Yazoo days, particularly with Alison Moyet.... ??

4.) 13 May 2026 09:17:29
You're getting him mixed up with Vince Clark Stokey.
Jimmy Summerville was with Bronski Beat and The Communards.

5.) 13 May 2026 09:21:38
Didn't like to say chum.
?

6.) 14 May 2026 12:08:22
Yes, you are both right! Memory isn't what it was. ? ? ? ?

Luckily Newcastle don't have a goal scorer as they would have been out of sight in 45. However Awonyi x1 and Jesus x2 misses as well. A drab match until Newcastle scored. I am not in favour of sending the long ball up to Tiawo but at least he won quite a few. Jesus however was not near him.
I don’t think Wood offered any more, and this was not a good game for Yates or Dominguez.
Mactee made a difference and had an assist.

There are those on this site who berated MGW. They can now see what an average side we become without him. Sure Anderson stepped up his game, but there is no one else in the wings except McAtee! Whether you like this player or not, should MGW go and Anderson too, he will be the midfield chief.
You can also see how our defence is in pieces without Murillo. Add him to the other two that might leave and you can see the pickle we might be in!

Very good post, mate... Yes MGW did get a bit of stick on here. However, he's been brilliant up until he got that horrendous injury.
We'll definitely miss him, Anderson, and Murillo when they inevitably leave.
?

2.) 10 May 2026 21:17:52
Yes, how quickly we forget. If it wasn't for Mr M, MGW and his agent would have done one on us. He had no choice but to turn up. He's got to try and sell himself now, he will be gone come summer.

Done well for us or for himself, either way he's been paid a hefty sum and hopefully Mr M can get the money he deserves for him, and not the price he put himself out for.

I think MM, the side VP, will pick the AV. It is the side from last Thursday, assuming injuries have resolved. Although last night demonstrated we have a very strong 2nd 11. There is no doubt it will be a feisty match, and AV will try to nail Anderson. Although, as he is from the NE, he will take no prisoners either! I am looking forward to this match.

MGW will desperately want to play, but it's the medical team's decision.

It is disappointing that neither Netz or Awoniyi are in the squad! Was this SD's decision? Do we get another chance to pick a squad for the final.

My belief is the next manager will be Da Silva. What is 8 million compensation to Fulham as far as Forest’s fortunes are concerned. We won’t need to worry re worsening our financial viability, as Nuno got a quick job it saved us a few million at least.

To state the obvious, the team is composed only of Englishmen. How many teams in the Premiership contain a mere 1/5 th of English born players in their team? Very few, if any. The FA appointed a German manager, so this is what you get. Essentially, we know the starting 11 and Mgw would have difficulty getting into that, even if picked to go.

Should the side survive the heat and reach the next round, Tuchel will be offered a new contract, ie the FA consider that success. Meanwhile, a proven very successful England manager is languishing, ie Mr Carsley.

DTP, I think Bournemouth will sneak into a European cup of one sort or another, so their players will not be interested in us!
It will be a test for us on Sunday, but if the team plays with the same zeal as against United, it will be an entertaining match.

I completely agree, a very poor decision. A 2-2 would have been a fair result. However, United hit the post twice and Mewmbo missed two absolute sitters.
Now, to Forest. What a fantastic goal from MGW. It must be one of the goals of the season.

Of course, assisted by Anderson. They were the standout players for Forest today, again. Their connection must surely mean a seat for MGW this summer. This was a good advert for football, except the referee!

All are relieved that we are safe, of course, and well played from Vitor Pereira to the under 18s!
However, it will take some very canny recruitments should the 3 expected to leave do. Remember, MGW came because of Cooper, and Anderson was a very fortuitous signing as a result of FFP. The big question is, how can we attract quality players to a club whose long term future, even manager, is by no means certain. Some of the new players signed this season have unreasonably had criticism; they, however, will be the core of our new team.

They all came either because they thought Forest a good club or they got a pay rise and their previous club a great fee. Some players, such as Louca, may be better than we think, but have we the time to persevere. Do we raid again ex-under-21s like Harvey Elliot or Quansa. I don't think we will see the likes of Anderson and MGW coming to our club for a long while yet. Maybe it's time to invest in the academy, as Brentford and others have.
