Edu gone?

If Sels is out for any length of time it will be interesting to see Gunn and Ortega fighting for chances to be between the sticks!
Seems there are no more incomings so I don't know what that will do to our choices for the European games with Zinchenko and Luiz out, plus of course Sels' injury.

1.) 03 Feb 2026 11:22:03
So we have 4 senior keepers now then. I'm guessing either Victor John (or is it John Voctor? ) or Sels are out for the rest of the season?

2.) 03 Feb 2026 19:20:35
Victor out for the season, sels got a groin/ back problem.

23 Jan 2026 18:07:49
Looks like Zinfandel and Louise on their way out. Expect John Victor McAtee and Savona to follow soon?

bsered

1.) 23 Jan 2026 20:44:12
I’d keep Savona as back up centre back and get rid of Morato. Savona isn’t a full back to be fair to him.

2.) 23 Jan 2026 21:50:12
You been reading my posts besered?
Ziindfandel and Louise? ???
Your phones worse than mine ???.

3.) 24 Jan 2026 17:05:22
On the wine are we, bsred? I'm quite partial to a glass of Zinfandel. Goes very well with a joint. Ndioye and Bakwa should be gone aswell.

O'Brien to Wrexham?

bsered

1.) 24 Jul 2025 13:34:42
Wrexham are definitely giving it a good go just brought Windass, Championship may not be so straight forward this year?.

2.) 24 Jul 2025 14:30:40
If we can get our money back on him then happy days.

3.) 25 Jul 2025 10:28:12
O, brien was better than Danilo but the big man orderd Copper and Nuno not to play him, had a raw deal here and the treatment he received could destroy some characters.
Swansea relegation bound when they signed him, finished half way up.
Players should be treated on merit.

4.) 25 Jul 2025 11:30:24
Was it Carlo who said O'Brian had a bust up with either the boss or another player? No idea what happened, but that might explain why he didn't get the chances he wanted?

5.) 25 Jul 2025 11:31:25
Oh, I didn't notice it was you Carlo, who just posted that. My memory might be breaking down. Could be someone else who said that?

6.) 25 Jul 2025 13:12:17
Obrien had a very poor game against fester away and Cooper dropped him after starting him in games previously
He's a good championship player and not good enough for the premier, just like our joe worrall
Nuno had a look at him preseason last year but decided the same
Not one premier club has shown an interest in him so what a load of nonsense to suggest marinakis told the coach he wasn't allowed to play
I bet you where born with spoon in your hand.

7.) 25 Jul 2025 17:37:10
He wasn't the only one.
They were all crap that night and Kouyate was worse than O'brien.

8.) 25 Jul 2025 19:07:27
I agree fred.

9.) 25 Jul 2025 19:32:32
That was probably me in the guise of carlo, Cyclist.

10.) 25 Jul 2025 23:46:15
Carlo I bet you didn't argue with the way cloghue treated asa Hartford ramondo ponte, gary megson and Bryn gunn plus many others back in the day?
Yet you despise our owner now?
An owner that's reinvented success for our club
You talk about fairness and want the impossible from that, cus those players aren't actually good enough
Obrien had his chance to play premier with us he'll never get that chance again because he's not good enough at the end of the day.

09 Jul 2025 16:07:26
Sosa gone. Still need a clear out.

bsered

1.) 09 Jul 2025 16:43:32
Turner, Miguel, Morato, Panzo, OBrien, Bowler, Dennis, Jota, Stamenic, Carmo and Richards would be in my bomb squad.

2.) 10 Jul 2025 16:17:09
I’d keep Murato and Jota, especially with Europe in mind, and have another look at Richards. The rest are deadwood as you say mate ??.

Great to have Murillo with us next year. With Cunha improving all the time we'll have a good back three.

21 May 2026 20:00:26
If Tuchel fails to pick the highest scoring Englishman in the Premier League I would suggest his team will fail.

bsered

1.) 21 May 2026 21:50:24
Hell deffo pick the highest in the Bundesliga.

2.) 21 May 2026 21:57:47
If I was England coach and my professional reputation was on the line, I would definitely pick Morgan.
He offers something different.

3.) 21 May 2026 22:13:41
Bank statement is all they look at, Gazz.
And, for playing Mickey Mouse teams for the most part.

4.) 21 May 2026 22:32:55
Got no interest in the World Cup, especially since it's in the USA, at least 5hrs behind us, and now with the squad selection. Pitiful!

5.) 22 May 2026 01:10:52
Don't you normally tell me off for them comments, Dtp?

6.) 22 May 2026 09:30:57
The crazy thing is, it's not just GW's attacking threat, it's also his work rate when not in possession, he is a great player on the counter too for turnovers.

Henderson is a wasted spot. Bring him, if he is good around the camp, experience, etc., as a coach, fair enough. They never learn their lessons from the previous managers, do they?

19 May 2026 08:31:34
Now that PGMOL has agreed United's second goal should have been disallowed, what about an appeal to the Football League for United to be docked two points and Forest to be given an extra one?

bsered

1.) 19 May 2026 10:12:26
Mate, if that was the case we'd be well up that league, mate?
Liverpool, for example.

2.) 19 May 2026 10:44:53
I was thinking about those options, Bse. As far as my understanding of sports law goes, I believe that the golden rule is that results cannot be altered post game. Clearly, points can be deducted (ie FFP breaches), but never added.
The viable options, firstly, are that the game could be replayed (as per us v Newcastle in the early 1970's after the infamous pitch invasion). But there's no time in the schedule for this, and probably no appetite from either club to go down this route, especially with nothing much to play for and players wanting to get to the beach or prepare for the World Cup after a long, exhausting season.
Secondly, we could sue PGMOL, or more likely Salisbury himself, for financial loss from final league position, ie the couple of millions difference from finishing, say, 15th rather than 16th. Again, I don't think we are that sort of a club, and it will come across as heavy handed and vindictive.

However, Mr M is very litigious back home in Greece, and, if you remember, took Fawaz to court during his purchase of NFFC.
There is a legal precedent for suing to get compensation for injury or loss of money if a person recklessly or incompetently fails to use available technology (in this case VAR) to its full extent or ignores/overrules it. Obviously, we all know insurance companies penalise drivers who switch off things like proximity warning devices (even though there's no legal requirement to have them fitted), and there is a case of a taxiing pilot who bumped his plane on the runway because he switched off the audible warnings in his cockpit because he was arrogant and knew better. Sound familiar?
He was sacked, and his airline heavily fined.
But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any sort of justice in this case, mate.

3.) 19 May 2026 12:48:59
A wise response, Stokey. I'm not a fan of litigation, but if a club has benefitted from an unjust decision there should be some form of redress, and I'm sure Mr. M is aware of this - look at the Crystal Palace debacle last year.

Not a good idea to bring the law into football, but perhaps VAR needs to change so that it can challenge a ref's critical decision on the pitch, perhaps by having a second ref within the VAR team to be consulted and make a decision which the one on the pitch has to follow?

4.) 19 May 2026 16:12:43
Bse, my views on what changes need to be made to VAR are well known on here.
Basically, the system needs to learn from cricket and the 2 codes of rugby. Believe me, mate, rugby, especially Union, is much faster and quicker than football, with much more going on. Yet, they seem to cope very well.
So, clear daylight to give offside (as per Arsene Wenger's experiment in Canadian football). It’s just unreasonable to expect refs to give offside for a toenail.

Then, umpires call, with, say, 3 reviews per side per match by the on-field captain, after a maximum of 10 seconds following the goal, penalty, or red card. After you’ve blown your reviews, then it’s up to the referee.
As Cloughie said, "Football is quite simple, and it’s made complicated by people who don’t know how to win a game of dominoes." ???

5.) 19 May 2026 17:38:58
Rugby Union is quicker than football, they stop every 30 seconds ffs.

6.) 19 May 2026 17:30:34
Bring back hanging i say.

7.) 19 May 2026 19:38:24
Oakham, mate, I've played both sports, rugby, mostly as a loose forward, number 8, and I found it like 80 minutes plus of unarmed combat at high tempo. Much tougher than football, and quicker, certainly as a forward. I've only played League once, and that was the quickest and toughest of the 3 sports by a long way....

8.) 19 May 2026 19:59:22
Loose forward?
You should have been a number two. ??

9.) 19 May 2026 20:15:59
Very good, DTP! I'm guessing you'd have been a whinger? Err, that should be winger. ?? ?

10.) 19 May 2026 20:43:15
I love life Stokey and Forest End of. ??

11.) 19 May 2026 20:49:56
We have that in common Dtp, mate. ??

Eyes on Hayden Hackney and young Mane. Anyone else suggested for us?

bsered

1.) 18 May 2026 23:08:30
Unproven and very expensive, leave it to the club.
No doubt we will come up with some gems.

2.) 19 May 2026 00:38:35
Mane proving it at Wolves. Hackney highly rated. We won't be buying guys at £60 million.

3.) 19 May 2026 10:13:00
Is his surname Marsh?
???

4.) 19 May 2026 10:45:30
Or Cab?

5.) 19 May 2026 11:25:59
Can we have a rule? Nobody is allowed to say "leave it to the club". This site is about banter and chatting about rumours. It isn't about discouraging people from posting about who they think we should or shouldn't sign.

That has to be one of the most irritating things anyone on here can do. What are you here for if you don't want to discuss possible transfers?

6.) 19 May 2026 13:34:32
Mention of Hackney Marshes brought back some happy memories, Rogie. I played a couple of games for a Met team on there. Dozens of football pitches as far as the eye could see. On match day, literally hundreds of footballers and supporters.

The walk from the changing rooms to the furthest pitches must have taken 30 to 40 minutes. Incredible sight.
Probably all housing estates now, I'm guessing? Happy days. ?? ?

7.) 19 May 2026 15:24:28
Wow!!!
That's insane!!!

8.) 19 May 2026 16:34:43
Hackney Marshes Pavilion, home to AFC Islington. Played there a couple of times, it's crazy, pitch after pitch, after pitch. Lost both games there. ?

17 May 2026 15:48:06.
Difficult to win at Old Trafford especially when playing against 12 men including the ref, who ruined our brilliant performance.
How many clubs in the "top Six" have benefited from bent refs/VAR in the last few weeks?
The lads still showed plenty of guts today, but Wood and Awoniyi did really nothing, everything for us was in midfield, and I worry what it will be like when our midfield disappears next year.

Igor can play on the wing. Let MGW go and let's be over it, he's given good service, let him flop at Spurs.
We need a sub for every position if we are to cope in Europe, so let's get some more gems in quick.
