Don't think we will sell all 3 of MGW Ando & Murillo in one hit, if we do that's probably next season gone, we will be doing a wolves. Reckon Ando for 100mil plus, can't see MGW going anywhere, as good as he is, the top 5/6 probably don't need him other than a squad player, he'll play every week for us n be the main man.. Murillo possibly, Man U Scouse n Chelsea been sniffing around, at least 60 mil but think Cunha would step in for him..
Not sure but think it may be the last year of Sangare's contract, so he could be off as well I'd give Bakwa McAtee another season, think Ndoye be off to Italy and Kali probably signs for that German team.. Just hope we don't spunk Ando proceeds on a load of dross..

Thanks Ed. I feel your pain mate but you are in the Champions League spot notwithstanding. " Aura farming " I must remember that phrase . It's a zinger! ???
{Ed001's Note - I really don't understand how we have got in the top half the way we are playing.}

First of all, congratulations to the lads and VP on our Premier League survival and an excellent clinching point against Newcastle. If you read my posts right back to the SD you will see that I predicted a comfortable mid table ish final position and on 43 points and 2 games to go I’m roughly right.
Our struggle this season has been our owner's fault but he got it right at the 4th attempt and I appreciate his passion and investment but not his competence in decision making. Like our ancient committee and their forbearance with the “foibles” of Cloughie then Mr M should have nurtured Nuno and built on his achievement instead of alienating him. His appointment of Ange with no preseason or time to inculcate his methods (an entirely different ethos to Nuno's) was disastrous. SD steadied the ship and VP has been superb.
I’m staggered by the criticism of our players yesterday from some posters on here from yesterday. I thought it was an incredible achievement, with our long list of injuries and 3rd game in 6 days. Villa couldn’t put Burnley away yesterday and they 3 games in 7 days (ie a day extra and far fewer injuries).
I thought we might flag second half but to come back late on was remarkable. It was clear from half an hour in, to anyone with any knowledge of football, that we were running on empty.
So, for the future, we have to brace ourselves for the loss of our key players to other clubs (Murillo, Ando and MGW) and some sensible (for a change) recruitment with the money their sale will raise. Yesterday, I loved VP astute tactical flexibility (going from back 5 to back 4) and Netz seamlessly going from full back to wide midfield. Obviously, Ando was magnificent, Sels faultless, Williams full on as always.
Bakwa and Hutch looked a good bet for next season and Taiwo’s was a chuffing thorn in the side all afternoon. Yates and Dominquez put in tremendous effort in the absence of Sanghere and MGW. Milenkovic a warrior and organiser as always.
Plenty to build on certainly. Meanwhile we can look on with a sort of Wildean detached amusement at the struggles of the 2 London giants.
Coyr!
11 May 2026 14:34:52
It was a Herculean effort by all, mate.
11 May 2026 15:05:10
It certainly was, Rogie. I need a holiday just from watching it. ?
11 May 2026 15:50:36
.....And, Breeeeeath!
11 May 2026 17:32:55
My God!!! (Literally!)
You know you're getting on when you see Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp advertising Life Insurance!!!.

Or John Lyndon advertising butter, mate.....
What's the world coming to.... ???

Good post, as usual, Stokey. It was a superb result and I'm already looking forward to next season.
However, I'm surprised that you were 'staggered' by some posters berating certain players. I think every true supporter of any football club has earned the right, through both their emotional and financial commitment, to comment on any poor-performers within their team.
I'm guilty as charged in that respect. I posted that Morato is an awful player.
I hold my breath every time he has the ball, waiting for his next mistake. I'd also say that Dominguez isn't much better - the lad tries hard, but just seems to run around like a headless chicken. I'm glad he got pulled at half time.
Some canny recruitment (and discharge) of players required this summer. I've already mentally said goodbye and good luck to Murillo and Ando. I just hope that we can keep MGW.
11 May 2026 19:22:43
Don't be "Spreading" that about Stokey!!!
???
11 May 2026 19:27:39
All are relieved that we are safe, of course, and well played from Vitor Pereira to the under 18s!
However, it will take some very canny recruitments should the 3 expected to leave do. Remember, MGW came because of Cooper, and Anderson was a very fortuitous signing as a result of FFP. The big question is, how can we attract quality players to a club whose long term future, even manager, is by no means certain. Some of the new players signed this season have unreasonably had criticism; they, however, will be the core of our new team.
They all came either because they thought Forest a good club or they got a pay rise and their previous club a great fee. Some players, such as Louca, may be better than we think, but have we the time to persevere. Do we raid again ex-under-21s like Harvey Elliot or Quansa. I don't think we will see the likes of Anderson and MGW coming to our club for a long while yet. Maybe it's time to invest in the academy, as Brentford and others have.
11 May 2026 19:58:03
Nice one Rogie. It would have been more appropriate if Lydon had been in "The Jam" perhaps? ?
11 May 2026 20:13:40
Well, I think that you've hit the nail on the head, Nono. I've been saying for years that our Academy is one of the best and an untapped resource to supplement our first team with home-grown talent.
Routinely, most posters have derided me for saying this.
However, I stand by what I have said on the subject - just give 2 or 3 of the best players in the Academy the chance to prove themselves by training with the 1st team.
We may be pleasantly surprised by the outcome....
11 May 2026 20:41:49
I've been shouting for years on here about our academy, Lego. Love to see them coming through.
11 May 2026 20:59:26
Fair enough, Lego, my friend. I'd never criticise fans or posters for having a go at the team or players within it. As you rightly say, everyone is entitled to have an opinion. But it's unfair to do us down in the state of exhaustion we are in. 3 games in 6 days is crazy, with injuries limiting the depths of our resources. Newcastle had 8 days' rest before they played us and it showed, especially as the game wore on.
I agree about Morato. He's been performing much better under VP, but he always has a mistake in him (and he was saved by Sels from a crazy pass out of the penalty area on Sunday).
I think Cunha and Abbott are well ahead of him at centre back.
As for Dominquez, I like him. Incredible engine and workrate, plus technical skill. He's not afraid to put a foot in either, as he knows all the Argentinian dark arts. Mate, as they say, every architect needs a hod carrier before the building gets erected...
11 May 2026 10:51:22
Retain list Sels Williams Netz Aina Milenkovic Cunha Abbott Yates Sangare Hutchinson Bakwa Jesus Awoniyi McAtee Ortega Wood 12 mth contract Kalimuendo Gibbs White capt Sell Anderson 115m Murrilo 75m Transfer Out List Lucca Dominguez Moireia Morato Gunn Ndoye Boly.
11 May 2026 12:14:01
I'd keep Dominquez mate.
11 May 2026 13:12:38
I'd keep Gunn as third choice keeper and young Moreira has got potential, I think.....
11 May 2026 13:33:11
Hopefully we'll actually have someone competent overseeing the transfers this summer. First thing in Mr Ms inbox should be nailing down VP. Then see who's staying and who's going out of our better players. 90% of Edus signings should be shown the door, should get at worst 65% of the transfer values we forked out.
I'd say...
Sels
Gunn
Savona (looked decent before injury)
Williams
Serbinater
Aina
Jair Cunha
Netz
Abbott
Yates
Dominguez
Sangare
MGW (fingers crossed)
Hutchinson
CHO
Bakwa
Wood
Taiwo
Should be retained.
Ando and Murillo will have big question marks over them, and need sorting ASAP.
We have huge gaps in the squad, i.e a decent centre forward, a replacement for Ando (Hackney looks a good fit). Definitely need a wide man who, dare I say, takes on defenders. Unfortunately I think Oretga will go on a free, huge wages and not as solid as Sels, and he's too good to be a back up.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. ⭐ ? ⭐
(if I missed anyone my mistake).
11 May 2026 14:13:51
Me!!!
?
11 May 2026 15:03:51
It's a solid basis for a squad, RRH, but I'd retain Ortega as quality goalkeeping back up, and I'd add McAtee. He's got something, as yet largely untapped, which he is showing signs of producing under VP (and the possibility that he will no longer be the playmaker operating in MGW's shadow). It would be a mistake, I think, to lose Jesus; he's done a good job and deserves a chance.
Our incomings should be few but quality to replace MGW, Ando and Murillo (all very tough acts to follow), and a big but mobile striker to back up the ageing Woody and Taiwo.
It's not going to be easy for our recruitment team. It's a chance in a million that a player of Murillo's quality at the price we paid for him is going to be available, likewise another club having to unload another Anderson due to FFP requirements. MGW will be irreplaceable, I think, in the short term, and quality strikers like Woody are as rare as rocking horse. ? in our price range.....
11 May 2026 17:59:28
Ortega only signed a 6 month contract, and I think there was a reason for that. Not sure he wants to stay long term, imo, he's not getting any younger and wants to be no.1. As for Jesus, I really love his commitment and effort, but he lacks that killer instinct. We only paid peanuts for him, and I would like to think someone in Europe would help us at least double our money on him. McAtee is one who I'm still unsure on, having watched him flatter to deceive most of the season, then have a couple of okay performances near the end of the season. Is he really worth keeping, considering the quicker we move him on, the more chance we have of not losing huge amounts of money on him.
Players I'd like to think we could compete to get through the door as replacements:
Hackney (replace Ando)
Mateta (replace Jesus and the amazing Lucca)
I have no idea who we could get in for Murillo if he leaves, but maybe we have the ideal replacement already in Jair Cunha.
Obviously we'd need more bodies, an exciting wide man being one. William Gomes at Porto is young, fast and tricky. Being Brazilian, could our current samba boys have a word? I'd like us to bring in a couple of younger English lads, possibly a keeper and a striker. ?
11 May 2026 18:35:29
CB's like Murillo only come along once in 20 odd years....
Cunha is good, however, you never see him fly out of defence, beat a couple of players, then ping a pin point pass, not to mention his near misses on goal from inside his own half, mate, he's a complete one off.
Just my humble opinion.
11 May 2026 18:50:13
Not bad calls, RRH. Mateta has always been a handful when I've seen him play. Gomes I'm not familiar with.
11 May 2026 20:09:31
Hey Rogie, I know what you mean. Murillo is my hero in our current group. I love the lad, and who knows, he might want to stay, he's established himself as an international and it was us that gave him that platform. He seems like the loyal type of lad, so fingers crossed.
Stokey, William Gomes might well make the Brazil squad in the summer, remember Porto's tricky left footed forward/winger that gave us all sorts of problems at the WFCG? That was him. ?
11 May 2026 20:32:16
Thanks, RRH. Yes, I remember him, mate, from the Porto match.
11 May 2026 20:50:45
He's my favourite too, mate. Saw his documentary, loves his family, very appreciative of his success, quite humble too.
Then he crosses that white line.
?
11 May 2026 09:48:48
Special mention for Elliott Anderson, who deserves so much credit. He played against Villa on Thursday, then it's reported he had his mum's funeral on Friday! He then turned in a man of the match performance against Newcastle!
Respect to our Geordie Maradona!
COYR.
11 May 2026 05:19:32
Well lads for keeping us up.
The ref was dire and clueless.
VP has done an amazing job. I hope he gets an opportunity to show what he can do with a pre season and new players.
Yes key players will without doubt leave.
However, life goes on and players can be replaced.
Questions to all of you.
Who would like to see gone?
Personally I'd keep Hutchinson and McAtee as I believe they are improving.
Jesus is hit and miss for me.
Bakwa and Morato definitely need to go along with Kalimuendo.
Anderson, Murillo and MGW will be gone but the price tag for each will be high.
Last and not least, the Big Greek Mr. M finally got it right with VP, and hopefully valuable lessons have been learnt this season.
10 May 2026 22:55:46
Yes, Anderson was MoM, but we need to give enormous credit to Matz Sells. He's saved us countless times this year.
MaCatee played a great part in our goal, so time to think of him as maybe MGW's successor?
Great relief that we are staying up - understatement - but now it's about who's going, staying, and who else do we need?
10 May 2026 21:06:27
Nuno Nuno give us song.
Judus.
10 May 2026 21:39:22
Have you missed him, pineapple ?? Sounds like it. What could have been, hey. ???
11 May 2026 07:51:25
Couldn't care less tbh. But I know you do.
10 May 2026 20:56:41
Awesome, great work VP and the team.
Can’t wait for next season with a class manager and owner.
Is the Judas Nuno relegated yet?
10 May 2026 20:14:27
Well done Vitor, you came in to a shambles, lost half a team to injuries, got average players raising their game, introduced new positive tactics, and the icing on the cake, kept our beloved club in the prem. I look forward to what you can bring to Forest next season with time and transfers pre season on your side and that new contract you so richly deserve.
To you, the players and the big man for bringing you in, a massive thank you. U REDS.
