Alan Nixon when asked about possible incomings. Says nothing in pipeline but says there is a financial issue. Doesn't elaborate but could be another unwanted headline? And still no news of CEO.

The club made a thumping loss in the last financial year and the year before that. We don't currently have a sustainable business model. We're lucky that Fawaz is funding these losses with interest free loans but we're sailing very close to the FFP rules. I suspect the sale of Lascelles or Darlow will happen to ease the financial pressure and allow new cheaper younger players to step into the squad. I think we have good cover at GK and defence so this would make sense to me. Pearce will also be a breath of fresh air nurturing youngsters instead of the constant demands for stellar signings from our former manager.

Can someone clear up this whole FFP malarkey? I thought the whole reason Fawaz sponsored us himself was so that he could effectively give us as much money as he wants to through the sponsorship?

Sounded like Pearce, Marshall & Fawaz are looking at players and talking to them so think might take Nixon's comments with a pinch of salt.
