Last nights good fortune reminded me of a result back in 1959. Only we old 'uns will remember this.
We played Tooting and Mitcham away on their ground which apart from being bumpy was totally unsuitable to our style of football.
We were losing 0.2 to a none league club. Somehow we fought back to make it 2.2 then brought them back to the CG and beat them of course.

What I am getting at is when you struggle and still come out ob the right side I think its going to be a good season for us.
Incidentally we wenton to win the FA Cup!
Dont let's get carried away I am merely suggesting that it augurs well for us this season.

Remember the game well. Also what did not help Forest was the state of the pitch, which was rock hard, due to frost.Even remember what team Billy Walker put out that day

Only old enough to remember touching the FA Cup at a garden party at Wollaton Hall that summer. Converted me to a Forest fan after being taken across the road from where my grandad lived on Meadow Lane on matchdays to see The Pies!

I went to the cup final vs Luton Town l which we won 2-1 with 10 men. As you probably all know Roy Dwight broke his leg after scoring the first goal. They were playing awesome would have thrashed Luton with 11. Loved that team.

Disappointed Aitor's not interested in Tomlin, reckon he was one of our better performers for the short time he was,still need to ship out Lam,Clough etc.

Rogie I think that Tomlin did a good job whilst he was here but I think that we have since got better players in who are probably on lower wages.
