Figueiredo now missed his eighth came and counting and last time I read anything it inferred his return to training the week after the Reading disaster.

Seems a very long time for a deadleg injury to me

He hasn't got a dead leg.
He has blood clot on his upper thigh.

A blood clot in the thigh is a lot more dangerous than a depressed fracture of the skull. It's what we use special stockings against on flights and during operations It has to be broken up and drained away so that it doesn't go to his heart, so may well be a long time before we see him again. Get well Figgy hope all is ok.

A serious problem for Fig ,very unusual in an athletic individual. May be he had flown home and back over a few days that then led to it. If the clot flies off it is into his lungs and that is a problem

If it hits the heart it's a problem, your dead.
Doesn't have to flying that causes blood clotts can be a whole variety of things including bangs and knocks.
Deep vein thrombosis is more attributed to long hual flights or inactivity,it's more likely it was his original injury that's has caused complications.
He's young and will have the best medical care so will be ok.
