Anyone remember that Peter Shilton save from Ferguson against Covenrty in 1978. Was Henderson's save against AV better, from that header?

i do remember that save but we won the title that day only needing a point so shiltons save was extra special in my opinion but hendersons save was pure class and good on him.

The more important thing to note about Henderson is he, like many others, was nervous when he first played for us.

Many in our crowd were to quick to judge. Some wanted Henderson moved on within a month of his arrival. He is now showing how rash those early judgements were.

Carayol is in a similar boat, he didn't start his Forest career well, so he must be rubbish. Lam is not strong enough to play as a conventional centre half, but as a defensive midfielder with an eye for a pass and happy knack of getting shots away, he too has promise.

We should not be so quick with our dismissal of players who take time to settle.

Having said all that the Shilton save was different class. Henderson has turned the corner, but Shilton was the greatest.

I note one person has given my last comment a red thumbs up. Thank you that person.

What is more telling about the red thumbs though is how few people are actually bothered enough to respond at all.
Even if you disagree with Northnottsred you only get 11 thumbs down.

I have to say, I have my opinions and am happy that other people either agree or disagree, but I write what I think regardless of the red thumbs, up or down.

Tomorrow, another poster talks about 'us fans' in the insane belief that he speaks for all Forest supporters. The protesters cannot understand why they get so much support for their negative views on the social media, yet only 1000 turn up to protest, or 150 turn up to march. 1000 out of 17000, 150 out of 19000.

14 thumbs up mean you either have multiple votes or 14 people support your viewpoint.

The local media are just as bad. Nothing sells newspapers or gets more reaction on their website than a bad news story. Where do they get there stories, social media outlets like this one.

Those of you on here who actually go to the matches, not those who are boycotting for whatever current reason and not those who actually support other clubs and are sad enough to spend their day writing stuff just to wind up the gullible.

Those of you who go to the match ask those around you if they comment online. The first thing you will notice is how old our supporters are and the second thing will be the blank looks on their faces, because they do not have a clue what you are talking about. To them Twitter is something birds do.

It may shock some of you, unfortunately Fawaz included, but this online stuff is not the real world and certainly not representative.

The most responses anyone has had in recent days is well under 30.

30 responses, 150 marchers, a generous estimate of 1000 protesters, do you see a pattern?

Henderson saves were great, no doubt.
Having said that do you think he would still be getting pats on the back had the Villa lad put the ball in the net after Hendo dropped a regulation catch straight into his path?
Small margins and all that.

Wishydove, kettle, pot black springs to mind! I sent you a detailed response to your comments about pushing past a single protester yesterday with UNDISPUTABLE facts about the disaster of the FAH reign at our club.

Please read it and also read the further posts from me and UTF later on Sunday.

You somehow failed to respond, I can only assume because you knew I was right and your memory only extends to the last two weeks with three wins, two loan signings and a two league one players. The last 4.5 years of disaster can not be eradicated.

You may then understand why I and others feel that protests actually affect the owner.

Whilst I stated that I have never protested about anything in my life I do admire the protesters and really hope they drive out the cancer from our club, as I do not believe either a word he says or his latest new promise that he will put in place a correct structure and plan/ strategy with him taking a back seat to allow the club to flourish.

Wishey you should realise that people of all ages coment on this site, We all give our opinion on all maters related to forest and just because some of us are able to use a computer and a mobile phone to communicate do not decry us.
it does not matter if you are 6 or 60 years old you are allowed to have a point of view.

Absolutely 1978. I find also some of the wishydove comments patronising and insulting to others who oppose his view as well.

After 48 years watching Forest I can have a valid opinion that may disagree with his, and his sarcasm regarding the protest is not welcome in my opinion. I can also operate a computer disputed my middle age!

We all want Forest to be successful and that starts off the pitch with a structure and a strategy. Then we can focus on the team and performances on the pitch.

BUT there has never been a succesful team on the pitch with chaos off it in any sport or business as far as I am aware.

Hello Northnottsred, Undisputable hey!

Who do I want running the club? The Nigel Doughty or Fawaz Al Hasawi's of this world, who I admit made their mistakes, or a mob of at most 1000 people, none of whom can agree how they want the club run.

Given those choices I'd stick with Nigel and Fawaz everyday. Why, because the mob have contribututed a maximum of £500k a year to the running of the club while these two owners have ploughed in in excess of £200 million.

Without those two men we would not have a club. Who wanted Billy back? Who wanted Psycho back? Who wanted someone sexier than O'Driscoll, who wanted someone more attack minded than Freedman?

Who threatened boycotts if more signings weren't made? I am not a betting man, but if I was I would put a fair wager on the protesters and the boycotters being at the forefront of those encouraging Fawaz to take each of these steps.

Fawaz has made his own mistakes, the Algerians probably his biggest. But if I had 5 minutes with Fawaz I am sure he would tell me that most of his poor decisions were made in the false belief that he was doing what the fans wanted.

Hello. Yes my posts of yesterday are completely undisputable facts.

You are completely contradicting yourself and making whopping assumptions.

Who has ever said the protesters fund the club?

Who has ever said the protesters should run the club? No one, certainly not me!

You now seem to be suggesting that FAH makes decisions based on fans want and that is why he has failed for four years? If that is the case then that is why we all want him out and replaced with a responsible owner or consurtium who will run the club properly.

Your continual sarcasm and ageist comments are not helpful to you when trying to express your views, despite that I do agree with some of your posts such as the one about managers and the ' Forest Way'.

11.) 06 Feb 2017
06 Feb 2017 21:40:59
"Wishey " you can have all the time you want with Fawaz but He would not tell you the truth about anything The man lives on Fantasy Island and has done for years, long before He came over here. His biggest mistake was to buy forest in the first place, his second was to have no one in place to advise him on the running of the club, third mistake was to employ BD and let him and his brother in law take advantage of the club.
I could go on forever about him but You would not believe the things I would say so it would be a waste of time .

northnottsred, Patronising?

There were according to the NEP 150 marchers
There were according to the NEP up to 1000 protesters.
Point out if you will a post on this site with more than 30 responses.

I stated that you are well within your rights to post your thoughts. If by patronising you mean I disagree with you, you have a point, but I don't think that is the true definition of the word.

Patronising, Can be added to supporter, two words with misunderstood meanings.

I find supporter and owner get very confused too. Supporter pays his money to watch a football match, the owner provides the millions it takes to sustain a Championship club.

1978

I could not agree more. We are all allowed an opinion. I just don't think the opinions on here are as representative of the Forest support as some people think.

I actually did the survey around me at the Rotherham game. Of all those I asked, I was the only person who spoke on social media forum about Forest.

I am not saying older supporters don't post their thoughts on line. I am certainly not saying they shouldn't. The numbers don't lie 150 march in protest, out of a crowd in excess of 19,000.

Don't get me started on the standing ovation for Nigel Doughty. At least 6 people near me wore green tops when they hounded out our last owner. To a man they stood like the hypocrites they are, for the one minutes applause in his memory.

Waste of time arguing with you Wishey. Your right everyone else wrong!,

Don't try and explain the word 'patronising' to me as that proves your arrogance! I am well aware of the meaning. And your patronising and sarcastic remarks about older supporters unable to use Twitter and joining protests are illtimed and inaccurate.

We all know that protests attract a minority, and as I have said in yesterday's posts I have never attended one in my life. Many others will not either despite wanting him out. It's a bit like elections when the protesters take to the streets but the silent majority win the day. The silent majority want him out that's for sure. That's why he dare not attend a game and has not done so since Septemeber because he could not tolerate the boos he would receive as soon as he showed his face.

I sit in the main stand, as did my father and grandfather before me, and I can assure you those around me and everyone I speak to with any connection to NFFC all want FAH out because he is a lying tyrant who has run our club into the gutter despite his public intentions of 'love' for the club.

His investment was made by him alone, and he would have spent far less had he not had to terminate 8 managers and gone ahead and purchased useless players he lost money on. He has dragged us into court regularly, he has alienated us from the EFL and other clubs ( Peterborough with Assombolonga payments and what about Boyd who he told the World had eye problems having held him hostage at the City Ground to stop him moving elsewhere)

I could write a book on his shambolic four years, maybe somebody brighter than me DT at the Guardian maybe, will do one day. Then you and everyone else who can only remember the last two weeks might just realise that the poison needs extracting asap!

I have now read your post from yesterday.

Without a FD CEO or director of Football Fawaz has sold Darlow, Lascelles and Burke who cost us nothing for £20 million. He has sold Antonio for £3.5 million profit.

The players are all being paid. The tax man has been paid and Britt Assombalongo is now our player.

We have just signed 5 players in the January transfer window and we are no longer in a transfer embargo. We just beat Aston Villa who spent over £40 million on players and have a fanbase twice the size of ours.

You think that our club is not even worth £35 million less than Paul Pogba.

We can all paint pictures mate.

17.) 06 Feb 2017
06 Feb 2017 23:18:26
Yes clearly we have different views.

Your last post just sums you up though. 2 league one players purchased 3 loan signings a win against Villa and everything is fantastic!

You have just confirmed to everyone that your memory only extends two weeks back!

As for the value of the club. It's the value of the assets that a purchaser focuses on and the potential revenues. The club has a turnover of circa £15m so is a relatively small business and loses money. The value of the players at Forest today does not amount to anything near £50m and the club has very small land holdings.

So the value is far less than the owners current level of investment, so unless he takes a hit then we are stuck with his chaotic ownership.

18.) 06 Feb 2017
06 Feb 2017 23:20:24
Wishy also when you say academy players cost us nothing that is incorrect.

Do you think that nurturing Oliver Burke from 8 years old for 11 years comes free?

Think again my friend!

I am myself 60, so I am hardly likely to be ageist. if you look under 'Other Posts' you will see my opinion on the new signings and the turnover of managers.

I have held my current beliefs since 'the mob' hounded Nigel Doughty from the club. I was not a supporter of Nigel Doughty, just as I am not supporter of Fawaz Al Hasawi. I support the club I have supported since I was 6 years old.

I believe there is a small section of our fanbase who are far more poisonous to the club than Hasswi or Doughty could ever be.

Don't tell me they did not put pressure on to get O'Driscoll sacked because they did.

Don't tell me they didn't put pressure on to get Billy Davies back, because they did.

Don't tell me they didn't force our last functional CEO from the club, because they did.

We had a scouting team called the acquisition panel and they hated it.

Don't tell me that they didn't get Freedman the sack, because they did.

Yes Fawaz was daft enough to listen, but he thought his twitter follower represented the views of all the fans.

Many fans want stability and nothing more. Steady growth would be good. The mob are not prepared to play the long game. We get to Christmas every season, if we aren't in the top six, we sack the manager and start again.

Madness!

06 Feb 2017 23:33:30
The owners level of investment is £120 million, he is asking £50 million, he is already prepared to take a hit of a a small matter of £70 million.

Everything is far from fantastic, I just don't want 'the mob' sorting it out.
