I for one would like to see Abdoun in a red shirt this season, how likely do you think it is?

{Ed034's Note - unlikely

1.) 29 Jun 2014
Have I missed something again? Why "unlikely" Ed? I thought he put in some good performances last season and certainly put more effort in than the lazy Rafik!

{Ed034's Note - he put in the odd decent performance, but couldn't nail a place down and for the amount he is on, he should be a regular starter.
Due to his and his friends attitude, he didn't even make the match day squads at the end. He may have put more effort in the rafik, but so would have ebby if he was in the pitch.
I'm a bit surprised you are asking tbh. If he couldn't make the match day squad, why would you think he would all of a sudden be given a chance? We need to trim the squad and trim our wage bill.

2.) 29 Jun 2014
More wasted money, pity I think he would have been awesome with the right manager. I hope fawaz has learnt from these experiences.

With the WC coming up you would have expected the Algerians to be busting a gut to go to Brazil but it never happened, if you dont want to play for your country in this great competition I think that says everything, the chance wont come again so wheres your pride! CARLO

4.) 30 Jun 2014
It will be interesting to see if the two Algerians turn up for pre season training. I know the "Terrorist" has allegedly reached an agreement with Forest for his release, but nothing has been confirmed by the Forest Management.

5.) 30 Jun 2014
I too would like to see him in a red shirt, but Not in a red Forest shirt.

I know that this is a rumours site( and I love it!) but there is no evidence to support ed's continuing assertion that abdoun and Djebbour were lazy, couldn't be bothered etc etc. Djebbour was never given a chance and the donkey Hendo was preferred over him . Abdoun played well to start with and his form only dropped when the team fell apart. We were told at the time that they weren't playing because they had injuries etc, when has anyone from the club ever said that they weren't playing because of " bad attitude " , disruption or anything like that? mIt's ridiculous. They are signed to us and we have a new start. Of course they should be given a chance .

{Ed034's Note - my evidence is from within the changing room. If that's not good enough, explain why they were both left out by brazil, even though he could have made himself an instant hero by getting us to the play offs and promoted?? How about what journos all say?? Or maybe brazil saying that when they get fit and head sorted, they have a chance of being in the squad?? Or that it's being reported in this country and in Europe that both are available?? Why are they available??
You don't have to believe me, but you can't bury your head in the sand about the rest.
What would you like as proof?? A signed confession??

A confession from who ed? You? Lol. All I'm saying is that none of this is , or has ever been ,official, its all just conjecture. Which if course is what a rumours site is for. The whole Djabbour signing was extremely odd as were all the shenanigins around Billy leaving and maybe that's causing the gossip, but Abdoun is definitely our player and he is good. Give them a chance and chillax!

{Ed034's Note - do you want an official statement from the club, confirming that they have both been disruptive, while they are trying to move them on to other clubs?? Please do not consider sales as a career as you may struggle.
They've been given a chance. It is then that should be doing everything they can to earn a new deal, not us vending over backwards and putting up with their laziness and attitudes.

8.) 30 Jun 2014
Ed, I think perhaps your reply above says more about the Coach/Manager than the two Algerian players. They are good footballers and we saw what Abdoun could do even if Djebbour didn't get a chance. If the coach could get them playing at their best ( his job? ) then I would love to see them in the team.

{Ed034's Note - they were given a chance and neither of them have taken it. Brazil had nothing to lose by playing them and didn't. How is this so difficult to believe??

9.) 30 Jun 2014
Maybe Brazil wasn't up to the job I bet SP could get them playing - he won't stand for any nonsense

{Ed034's Note - that's the point, he wont stand for nonsense, hence we are actively looking to get rid

10.) 30 Jun 2014
Not taking sides as I do rate Abdoun. But there has to be a reason why Djebbour seemed to make some good runs off the ball but was continuously ignored by his teammates when many of them could have set him up with a simple pass.

{Ed034's Note - the squad wanted to get promoted, so they would not decide between them not to pass to a fellow team mate.
abdoun had so much talent, but goes in and out of the match too much. I don't think we saw his talent and unfortunately I don't think we will in a garibaldi. I hope I am proven wrong though

11.) 30 Jun 2014
A good run off the ball is one where a teamate can pick you out. His runs obviously weren't that good as he was seldom picked out.

12.) 30 Jun 2014
The quality of Djebbours runs are obviously a matter of opinion

13.) 30 Jun 2014
Djebbour made great runs in the matches I saw him play. Unfortunately we were playing with a makeshift midfield that could not see or make a telling pass!

Would love to see him in pre season with Reid Lansbury and Vaughan playing him in?

I posted my opinion on this ages ago but here we go again. It is for the manager and coaches to manage the players - the clues in the title! If we're naive enough to think that a group of say 20 players from various cultures etc are going to be best mates, then we're in lala land. Abdoun and Djabbour may have been disruptive but that is to be managed. This is a failure on the part of the old management team. Abdoun can still do a very good job for us and I believe SP is the right man to give him the direction he needs.
