A good point tonight, much ado about nothing! I think Torvill and Dean would have struggled to stay upright on that pitch. I like Pants in goal but one day he's going to get an unnecessary card for delaying too long on goal kicks! I see Watson got carded for delaying a free kick!

These are just unnecessary bookings. Also, I know Brereton is still very young and learning (from what everyone keeps saying) but I don't know why a professional footballer who does nothing but play football for a living, rests and trains cannot hit a target that is 24 feet wide! And that goes for others too! And I'm fed up hearing from pundits and others that the reason a player shot wide was because it was on his weaker foot!

You practice both feet! It was good enough for Pele so why not all the rest. Anyway, rant over. Oh and yes as Robertson mentioned earlier, the Ref tonight was a Homer! I reckon he got a bonus from Delia along with some secret recipes. Let's get Tomlin back for the sheep on Sunday! COYR!

Football is definitely a funny old game! there hasn't been too much to get excited about this season, but the main thing I can see is that confidence is the key to this team, as I know it is to every team of course. Those couple of good results when GB was interim manager against Leeds and Arsenal (draw and win) was the same team MW had playing for him. GB knows these players best and has their respect I'm sure.

We then saw that great result against Wolves with AK in charge early on. I'm sure AK like most observers saw how we easily get dispossessed of the ball and decided to take the opportunity in the transfer window to get some players in that he thought could do a better job. Now with all the changes and still more defeats the confidence has really slumped! Let's hope our manager has at least got a plan B for this.

Lets be clear Gary Brazil is not the answer. We played Arsenal youth with Forest youth. He had nothing to lose and yes knows a lot about the players. He did not tear up any trees as interim manager the last time. Let him do whst he does best with the academy. .

2.) 11 Feb 2018 20:54:44
My post wasn't about GB and how he should be the manager (again), it was more to do with trying to work out what motivates our players on the pitch. I agree Rutland, GB didn't tear up any trees last time he was in full charge, and I did mention that away win at Wolves also when AK was the boss so regardless of which manager is in control our old crop of players (before the January transfers happened) did manage the odd good performance! So we know they can perform when they press hard and work as one unit it is more down to consistency and confidence. Admittedly though, some of our players were too lightweight and getting brushed off the ball too easily.

I guess before the game the team was told that "now lads, the small guys in the team should mark their tallest players when we defend". Wow that was utter clueless defending tonight guys! Please work it out on the training ground. I did like the 4-3-3 style. Gave us more chances going forward, too bad there weren't any takers for scoring. except Bridcutt's goal of course! Not a bad effort tonight. MM not for me anymore unfortunately. Waste of a spot on the bench IMO.

it was embarrassing to listen to commentary keep saying it, have we not got a gym at forest? we seem so lightweight, we should of put vellios at centre back and told him to just head it away, mancienne is very poor but he must know that he will leave at the end of season, I hope against Barnsley we include a few yth players in the team like appiah and maybe some height and strength, Worrall at the back with fig? we need to play either fuentes or whoever as been playing lb for u23s, the 1 positive tonight was bridcutt thought he was man of the match and when he went off that was it, why he didn't take colback off I don't know.

2.) 22 Apr 2018 08:22:49
Gyms don’t make you taller!

Little wonder AK wants Dawson to organise our defence. We could have done with him yesterday.

Was getting a little down thinking another game without a win and no goals and then up steps BB. What a brave boy and he showed guts galore with that penalty! Very pleased for him and the team who did deserve something from the game. If that wasn't enough, they showed that they wanted to keep going and get a win and thanks to perseverance and JL's goal finally lifted the monkey off the back. Hopefully that should be enough points now to keep us in the league.

I think our formation should be 10 at the back, then that might cut out the one or two mistakes we seem to make to let the opposition score! How many times am I hearing that one or two mistakes cost us! Ah, a goal or two might help Mr Karanka! Do any of our first team coaches practice shooting? Actually do we have any that know how to attack?
My apologies for sounding cynical, we were close tonight, but no cigar! I can't believe reading that AK has tried a 4-3-3 formation! When was that? . the last two minutes of a match when we were chasing the game?! Oh well, "for us to do any more would have been impossible". I guess that's that then. nice to know that was our pinnacle performance tonight. thanks AK and team.

Our problem is, we cannot create clinical chances in front of goal. When was the last time a forest player had the chance of a tap in, it's always more hit and hope. Much more finesse required around the 18 yard box. Movement and quick passing, we haven't got the players for it.

2.) 11 Apr 2018 12:16:35
The last time we created chances in the box and potential tap ins was the game before Karanaka took over with his slow, defensive football. Remember QPR? Those early games this season with Osbourne, Dowell, Mckay and Brereton playing some great pass and move football and scoring goals!!! All our half chances last night came from balls over the top, no creative guile at all, is sad πŸ˜”

3.) 11 Apr 2018 14:34:01
Best manager we've had in recent years, Gary Brazil. Get a team of football people around him and give him the job

The pluses far outweigh the negatives today. First off fantastic support on a cold day away, defence pretty solid again and for me Jack Colback was man of the match for Forest. Doing all the right things defensively and if I was a defender I'd love to think a player like him was shoring up the midfield. Osborn has to be a little more aware on the overlaps defensive wise and for all his energy needs to look for ways forward instead of going backwards a lot of the time, and oh boy why didn't he shoot when he had the chance in the second half instead of trying to square it for Tomlin. I'd just like to see our attackers have a go at shooting a little more than they did today as it seemed at times like they were afraid to make a mistake with having a go at goal! Apart from the odd one too many passes in the final third of the pitch can't grumble at the team effort or organisation, that has looked solid for a few games now. I feel sure it will all come together in the final third soon. Let's hope we keep our loanees in the summer. COYR!

Colback and Pantillimon a doubt because of PL wages? They're showing the difference in class and they couldn't get in their PL sides.😳

2.) 17 Mar 2018 22:13:26
πŸ™„β˜οΈπŸ’€πŸ˜΄ great point against blades but I hope he as a good striker lined up for summer else it's going to be a df 2 season 🀒

3.) 17 Mar 2018 22:59:09
DF without his hands tied behind his back by an embargo πŸ‘ You don't build teams from the front, everyone knows that . . don't they?

4.) 17 Mar 2018 23:25:46
That's right perks hate to agree as long as you eventually get the front which Dougie never did there was no such thing to him I'm hoping karanka does cause you need a front to win games everyone knows that 😁

Now that's the kind of performance I like to see! 90 minutes worth too! Really proud of every Forest player today. I was saying to myself at half-time whether we win, draw or lose seeing them perform like that in the first half was totally acceptable. More of the same every match please lads.
Congrats to Tomlin for his two goals, nice touch running to AK to celebrate his second. Pleased for Lolly, Cash and Brereton, the latter I think did a great job as the lone striker. not an easy job.
Great to have a happy day following the Forest! Well done AK.

I'd have taken Warnock. His record speaks for itself!

You are spot on 2star. For all the pretty midfield passing and possession there was no end result. I dislike all the little flicks we are trying it seems they are void of ideas on how to penetrate teams! And when two forwards are screaming for a cross into the box the ball gets played sideways across the pitch!! For me I don't think it's just a case of getting a new centre forward it's getting a style of play that will penetrate stubborn defences and teams that setup like Millwall did today. Any sniff of a chance that we might create something got snuffed out by alert defending. The second goal conceded I thought all our players were ball watching and not any actual man marking. If we are to progress next season then predictable setups and play have to be overcome by our manager and his coaching team. Just my opinion. Happy Easter to all the fellow Forest fans. Hope we can do better against Barnsley!!

Clearly you are deluded Billybongo thinking Murphy is the answer! He is not quick enough to hold the line up front on his own. And in any case I am not saying that Brereton is the guy we need either, as I said we need new blood up front which will hopefully be sorted out in the summer. I'm just as pissed as you seeing BB get chances and not being able to finish them. My point was about the current system we play with one up front as sometimes it is hard to get goals, although there are games when it comes together like QPR match. If Murphy or Vellios or anyone else was deemed better for how AK wants to play then I'm sure he would put that guy in in place of BB.

Agree with the two up front at home CIG. I think out of the Centre Forwards we have at the moment Brereton is the best fit but not sure if we want to try for promotion next season we do need someone with more guile up front and more confident shooting. Oh the price for a confident experienced forward who can play that lone role up front. Two up front might just help the situation but of course our manager (God bless him!. doing a great job by the way) likes one certain style of play so guess we won't see that happening anytime soon!! Still positives are another clean sheet. never thought I'd see one of those this season lol. I sincerely hope we can sign all our loanees in the summer. Pants in goal my hero of the day. Defence looking more solid and confident. We now have a good captain and what a good signing Lolly is turning out to be!! Onwards and upwards for the Reds! And thanks to the owner for writing off that debt. Nice to see our club getting its act together both on and off the pitch! Keep it up! COYR!! Oh and don't know what was said between Tomlin and Rowett at the end but no need for their manager shoving our player. Clearly got GR wound up good today!! Not very professional from him at all!
