I’d settle for 5th at this moment in time Mossy we looked leggy and bereft of ideas against Everton no excuses for our next game at Spurs 9 days to work on the training ground and get our mojo back.

I think 5th is the target ultimately. There could be some quirky results that might go in our favour, but, obviously we have to win 3+ a draw or two. Please, not down to the last match!

It struck me throughout the Everton game that we seemed anxious, we rushed things, gave away possession, no rhythm and most of all no patience.
Perhaps the mantra of every remaining game being a cup final is getting to them. The very best teams and players have mental resilience and confidence born of assured success. We are in new territory here as massive underdogs amongst the big spenders.
Everton’s goal was born of stress and the perceived need to win when a point, though not ideal, would have been ok. 99 times out of a hundred Murillo would have knocked that back to Sels or knocked it long giving the team ( who had all gone up for our first corner) the chance for a reset.
If it was a cup final, stuck at nil nil with extra time looming it would have been safety first last 10 minutes and certainly last one minute.
I’m confident Nuno will sort it out. I hadn’t noticed at the time but he was frantically calling players back from the penalty area to fill the massive gap. We’d got away with it a few minutes before when they lost possession on a break.
It’s pure pressure. The old test. Anybody can run along a six inch wide length of plank on the ground. Dead easy. But, put that plank 20 feet up off the ground see what happens. Yet, it’s the same plank, the same width just more to lose.

Have felt for a while, we would be fighting for 5th place, as top4 Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Man City and then us, villa and Chelsea fighting it out. Could come down to the last game!
