On tv (08:48) - Steve Bruce now quoted saying that he expects Hobbs to tie-up a move to Forest.

3J

1.) I for one will never believe anything Steve Bruce ever says aggain, but hope your right lol

2.) Get in

3.) If he goes to wigan or reading then he's simply gone for money IMO. Forest without doubt the best choice in terms of prospects.

4.) I posted yesterday that I thought if Hobbs comes then Lascelles goes. Hope that's not the case but fear it may be.

5.) That would be more than fantastic! And then Vaughan for the rest of the season, it would make it a super great friday!
Don't think we need another striker.
Forest Dane

6.) Hobbs is a red. he won't turn his back. the squad BD putting together looking awsome.

7.) I read an online article in a Hull paper that it was looking like Wigan were leading the race and that we had seemingly failed with terms again. That was from yesterday though.

8.) I think he has realised and come back to tlk to us pal ps what a game last night that was bums on edge of seats stuff well done billy on subs

9.) Actually he says likely to go to Wigan where he had a medical yesterday

10.) Steve Bruce's face when he lost to Palace, wwwwwhhhheeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy

11.) I think he would be a stalwart, using the french guy as back up. would not be surprised if one defender departed.

Thought BD was quite harsh on lascelles last night.

12.) If Hobbs comes I would expect Lascelles to go. It might be the best thing for him, following in a tradition of our more successful recent youth, and building a pattern. Reidy left after 144 or so, Daws after 83, JJ after 29, JL has done 15 so far.

13.) Has anybody thought of the prospect he might be going 3-5-2 which would require 3 quality CB's

Silks

{Ed034's Note - we scored four last night against that formation and five against west ham using it, so no

14.) I can't see why we'd need Hobbs, Collins, Wilson, Halford, Gomis and Lascelles. Seems like one CB too many. Unless Wilson's injury is not recovering to plan or one of them is on the way out. I doubt that Gomis has rocked up just to make up the numbers and be 5th choice.

15.) In Hulls local rag today they state Jack had medical at Wigan yesterday now I'm not sure of the order of these things tbh but it doesn't look like we will be getting Jack back, I hope I am wrong though

Well played last night lads and many thanks to Fawaz for all his efforts.

Kev

16.) Fantastic comeback last night building a team with real character :) Lascelles was pulled out for criticism from Billy both on youtube conference and Forest player which is understandable as he missed the marking on both Watford goals. If this is true could be great for Lascelles development as he would have to fight for a place between Hobbs and Wilson when he is back fit. Brilliant site Ed :)
Mr. Retro

{Ed034's Note - thanks

17.) I have just been told by someone at the club They expect Hobbs to come for more talks today.

18.) 31 Jan 2014 10:29:43
Going by what Steve Bruce said, and by his body language on ssn. IMO, Hobbs will come to us at the end of season on a free, hence the cb from Nice til end of season.

19.) Also concerned at Davis's criticism of Lascelles!
Not necessary as errors were by others.
Is there an agenda here?
You're quiet Ed, are you saving yourself for the loooooooong haul till 11pm

{Ed034's Note - he had a bad game and davies mentioned it. bit of psychology maybe to bring him back down to earth. maybe it was a way of trying to put of any potential bids today lol

20.) To the dude who says " I don't think we need Hobbs" 70% or more of the centre halves u mention AREN'T good enough! Say we do go up (fingers crossed- though I'd prefer next season going up as champs!) can you imagine Collins & Halford coping with Aguero et al?! They barely coped with Troy Deeney at times! Lascelles is too young to shoulder all that week in, week out AND he under performed last night- quite telling that he didn't have Hobbsy in his ear talking to him and instructing him. as for Gomis we simply don't know yet BUT I'd trust the gaffer who's no slouch- look at who we've signed and the squad in general he knows what and who we need. For me our best pairing is (would be?) Wils and Hobbs with Gomis and Lascelles as back up but what do I know?! Lol
What I do know is.
Ee aye ee aye ee aye oh
Up the football league we go
When we win promotion this is what we'll sing, we are the Forest, we are the Forest, Billy is our king!

21.) See your point on 3-5-2 but they would be two poor examples to back your theory. Executed correctly with good players can work. Did Watford not use it last season beating us twice?

22.) 31 Jan 2014 11:51:39
jack hobbs will be signing today i'm 100% sure

23.) Hope that I'm wrong but me thinks that Mr Bruce is probably being mischievous again.

24.) Hi guys, I have just read a report also stating that hobbs will most likely return to forest where he was captain of

25.) Notts Loyal is spot on; Collins and Halford are simply not good enough (even at Championship level) and we looked weak through the middle of the defence last night so unless Gomis is a quality CB, I'll be disappointed if we miss out on signing Hobbs. The gap between Lascelles and Collins was frightening and I was surprised Watford didn't exploit that by simply running through the middle of them.

For me, I'd play Wilson and Hobbs (if we sign him) as our best pairing with Lascelles 3rd choice if either Wilson or Hobbs are injured.

From Sky:

Crystal Palace in talks with Nottingham Forest over the possible signing of Adlene Guedioura. Forest are reluctant to lose Guedioura who has established himself as a key player in Billy Davies' side.

3J

1.) 02 Sep 2013 12:38:15
let's cash in on him 5 Million at least! then FFP will be good for other signings to be made! COYR

2.) First team source has said that this deal is complete.

I'm hoping for a real CDM to replace him such as Leadbitter

To TrickyB,

Please note my previous post:

20 Aug 2013 10:16:35
Karl Darlow has signed a new contract this week according to a source in the club.

I expect this to be a long-term deal 4 or 5 years to tie him down as Forest #1

Should be announced this week.
*3J*

Now go check the OS.

3J

1.) BBC have already confirmed a 4 year deal

2.) 3J and AJH appear to know their stuff. I struggle to take things seriously on here from other posters.

3.) 3j I seen your post at begining of the week you are spot on again pal you have been right about some more things aswell so cheers keep informing us please do you have any more info with a striker maybe pal thnx again. flash red

4.) Factual information is always appreciated.

Cheers Buddy!

Dazza

5.) Yeah I'm aware BBC have confirmed it - it was more to point out that I'd stated this previously before the media! :)

Anyway, thanks to FlashRed and the other poster for the 'kudos', it's nice to get positive feedback for a change!

Other than the fact that we have a few irons in the fire, which everybody already knows, I've got nothing further yet.
If anything comes my way, I'll be sure to post it though!

6.) No worries 3j thnx again we apreciate all your info. flash red

7.) It doesn't take a genius to have worked that out. It was pretty obvious that Forest would try and tie him down with a new long-term deal. Long-term = more than 3 years. 6 year deals are quite rare, so 4 or 5 year deals were most likely. You made an educated guess and got it right. Well done. At least it was educated.

{Ed034's Note - come on. whats the point on coming on if you are just going to slate a fan who gives us correct info??
everything about his/her post was correct.

8.) I said well done and I meant it. The point I was trying to make is that I don't believe he/she is ITK like he/she claims.

What he/she is saying, is that there is someone from within the club leaking information to him/her and him/her alone? Would you risk your job at NFFC to give away free information?

If this guy/gal is really ITK then let’s see how good he/she really is. Tell us something we don't know and if he/she is correct then the next match I attend I'll buy them all the beer/babycham they can drink. Fair?

{Ed034's Note - i do not know all that is going off at forest, but I do know the odd thing through a player. maybe he/she knows darlow, maybe he/she just happened to stumble across it.
if I find anything out and put it up, will you buy me a babycham??? lol

9.) Correct Ed. Everything I know comes from players. I am a 'he' and I don't think I've given any bad info yet have I?
I openly admitted in my OP that I was making assumptions on the final contract details, but it doesn't change the fact that I posted the contract signing news before it was mentioned anywhere else.
I've also said that I have nothing further to add at the moment. Not sure why I'm having to repeat it all?

10.) 3G. LOL You said it was that day you posted it which it wasnt I Agreed he may be about to sign. :) PS Have a look

{Ed034's Note - he also said it the day before

11.) On the 20th he said he had ' allready'. signed.

12.) I found out late on 19th he'd signed, posted it in 20th stating it would be announced later in the week.
Contractual info would not be released to the media until it was 100% completed. (Solicitors/paperwork/etc)
Not sure what people are confused about?

13.) I'm sure some people just come on here to slate other fans & 'have a go'

Great inside info 3J. Thanks. That's exactly what's needed on a site like this.

Phil.

14.) Cheers Phil :)

Just read that John Arne Riise has been told he can leave Fulham for free in January.

Anyone else agree that he could do a good job for us whilst Cohen is out, as I personally think Harding is shocking!

3J

1.) I loved riise back in the day, I loved having long distance shots in sunday matches and shouting riise everytime! but unfortunately I feel he wouldn't offer much different to harding because they both lack pace! I saw riise play for roma against juve a few years back and he looked two yards off the pace of the game. I feel harding is a weak link. Personally I'd play jara lb so lichaj, hobbs, lascalles, jara back line!

2.) Lascelles is banned isn't he?

{Ed034's Note - yes

3.) Considering he has barely played this season I think Harding should at least be given a few games in get match-fit. At least he is left-footed and a genuine left back.

4.) Well said twf79

5.) Hardings a good crosser and a hard worker but isn't the best when defending? Could do worse but def need better in the long term.

Lets hope he can take his chance like most of the other lads have and step up. He does have better players around him now so maybe that will help him develop too?

Following up on the Geddy story, according to first team player the deal to Palace is done and dusted.

Personally, he's not looked interested this year, so if it frees up wages for a proper CDM like Leadbitter I'm all for it.
Plus you can't argue with a player wanting to play at the top level I guess.

Nothing to give you on incoming transfers at this time unfortunately,

3J

1.) I think that's been the plan all along. That's why we going after leadbitter I'm sure. How much do people think pep is rated at? More or less then leadbitter? COYR

2.) I'd be sorry to see Adlene go, he is quality. I can't see him going without having a midfield general lined up, maybe leadbitter, maybe not. Though yes maybe Billy does see him as someone who give the ball away a bit too much and wants someone to do the simple things more. As redman says, won't go unless big money has come in or maybe he wants another strong mid so he can push geddy further forward and doesn't need to sell him at all to do that, who knows!

3.) I don't think it's been the plan all along. I think leadbitter is to add to our squad, not replace someone. We are short in central midfielder at the moment. Not in actually numbers but of the right quality. That's why we have never had a central mid on the bench all season

Keeno

4.) Guedioura on his day is better than leadbitter. He's struggled at times this year but he hasn't had the assistance he's needed in the middle of the park in terms of defensive cover. He was tied badly on Saturday being bought off in a stupid situation and if I was him, I would be questioning whether billy believes in him.

Follow-up on Darlow's new contract.

Signed for the equivalent of 4. 5 years.

1/2 year until the end of season, and then the following 4 years inclusive.

I have mixed feelings on this. whilst I don't doubt that Crouch would be a great addition, he wouldn't offer anything different to Lars IMO. Both are +6'5", strong target men, so I would not like to see us revert to playing 'route 1' football if they were played up top together.

Unless we're trying to great the tallest frontline ever of course.

No, he wouldn't be my ideal choice as backup for Vaughan either, but he knows the CDM position as he has played there previously at international level.

My point is that I personally think Lichaj has proven himself as our starting RB and I wouldn't play Jara there instead! :)
