I would just like to comment on the FFP banter that is going on. FFP was designed to stop clubs folding & disappearing not doing a Portsmouth as suggested. it is very rare for a top tier football club to fold & you count the top flight english clubs that have gone bust on the fingers of both hands. When they do go bust they are normally taken on by new owners. I believe that FFP is unworkable & will be abandoned. Man City, PSG & Barcelona are the highest profile clubs that failed the FFP for their last accounting period. Barcelona were supposed to have a transfer ban but threatened legal action & the ban was lifted. Man. City were fined £49m & had a 21 man squad rule applied for european competition. A bit harsh but when you look at the sanction its £49m over 3 years & it only comes from prize money from european competition & can be reduced to 1 year (£16. 3) if Man. City comply FFP in future. 21 man squad isn't a sanction as Man. City registered 23 last season but only used 21. They are also required to register 8 home grown players but this has been reduced to 5 for this season as they only allowed to register 21 players. UEFA had to back down over FFP rules as they are unenforceable, so I have no worries over FFP & neither should any other forest fan imo
1.) Ffp- What about trying to make football more of an honest industry living more within its means and operating within an acceptable business structure. So local fans, suppliers and businesses get good value and paid for the services that they provide? Its not ok that the poorly run clubs just get taken over and debts are written off- I know small businesses and acquaintances in my local area who have supported clubs through sponsorship, season tickets and services and then been ruined by a clubs mis-management, i'd go as far to say its ruined lives (stress, divorce etc) not good at all - i'm not saying ffp is perfect but I think it can work with a few sensible adjustments - the main problem is to convince clubs that this is the correct way forward for the good of the game.

I'm glad this debate is going on both posts have great points - It is amazing how views differ,from editing all the sites it appears that the richer clubs dislike ffp (for some strange reason lol) If we forget about the Premership how about the rules league 1 & 2 have where you can only spend a percentage of your annual turnover then the richer clubs get back their financial power compared to others in the league who are less well off and then the richer clubs wouldn't be held back but would still have certain boundaries in which the club wouldn't be jeopardised - not saying any of that is right or wrong it was just a thought about this debate.
Cheers

3.) Ed 03 that makes sense and tbh could anyone looking at it for the good of the game say that it doesn't make sense or shouldn't work? Saying that sense and football don't really fit in the same sentence :-)
{Ed003's Note - very true.}

We went to the game yesterday & thought that we played really well. As for moussi we thought he had a solid game tbh. as for the penalty & free kick which led to their 2nd goal which was unstoppable, on another day with another ref neither would have been given. it looked like perkins had lost control of the ball before moussi collided with him. As for paterson, abdoun & hendo they were all good impact subs. Abdoun for us was the pick of the subs. When abdoun was warming up we had worries that he was going to be another Ali Dia as he is so slightly built but we were amazed by his skill. Taking the game as a whole the scored flattered Barnsley, if we had converted all of our gilt edged chances we would have won 8-2
1.) From my seat in the Trent End it was a stonewall penalty. I would have been furious if it wasn't given if it was Cox who got battered to the ground.
Moose is off the pace, he needs games and needs to step up a level or we get someone else in there.
The lad that was fouled with the blonde hair now he looked a good player yesterday.
{Ed034's Note - you mean a player that has hardly played was a little off the pace....shock, horror
2.) You mean silas from the the Vinci code!

hope this isn't true pep is a quality player. looks like we will have another season with no 20 goal striker & no strength in depth.

been thinking about leadbitter signing maybe bd is thinking about playing 4-2-3-1 with Guedioura & leadbitter as 2 holding midfielers?
I do agree that we do need to be able to rotate players & we need strength in depth. I share the concern that it may upset the balance of the midfield; the back four & our midfield are really impressive atm. we just seem to be lacking up front. Guedioura has made a good start this season my only criticism is that he sometimes overplays.
Check youtube guidetti feyenoord, quality player not convinced that he would want to play in the championship though. 23 appearances for feyenoord 2011/12 & 20 goals 2. so he would be the 20+ goals player we are looking for.
If moussi isn't the answer to the cdm problem. I don't see why we could give gonzalo a game as our cdm how does anyone even bd know that he isn't the answer? the surefire way is to give him a try iom.
on the subject of loans: the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two Transfer Windows, Standard Loans can be for half a Season or a full Season. Any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window. Any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between both Clubs and the Player but can only be completed after the expiry of 28 days and only during a Transfer Window. emergency loans minimum duration is 28 days & a maximum of 93 days
{Ed034's Note - emergency loans are for three months max and if we go from three moths from today, it won't take us over Xmas
