I just wondered what everyone's thoughts are on Stuart Pearce as manager, now he has had some time to settle in to the role?

Are you happy with the style of play? Only I remember his time at Man City was rife with moans about how poor the football was under him. Though to be fair there, he was on an extremely tight budget, unlike the City of today! I was just wondering if, now he has a comparatively large budget compared to most of the opposition, whether he has gone for a more expansive style?

I haven't been able to catch every Forest game this season, so I wanted the opinion of people that actually have. Only from what I saw, it is still a bit of a workmanlike style, with a lack of flair and creativity. That might just be the games I saw though, so I wouldn't judge him harshly on those myself.

If the style isn't good, how long would you give him to create a more attractive style before you would consider moving a club legend like him on? Or would you only be bothered if results were poor, no matter what the style of football?

When I think of Forest, I personally think of the Clough era, flowing, passing attractive football played in the right way. No arguing with refs by the players, no play acting, just good football. Is that what the fans want to see, or are results all important now??

Stop messing about 001

{Ed001's Note - I wasn't messing about. I was asking a genuine question. Well genuine set of questions.}

Well I wasn't that keen on sp as manager in the first place, but I've been proved totally wrong, he's doing a great job. How anyone can argue with joint top and unbeaten is beyond me. OBE always built from the back and SP is doing the same. What matters is promotion, i remember losing 5-0 to Oldham in Jan 2007 and being near the bottom of division 1 we had something to moan about then!

{Ed001's Note - that's what I would have thought, from the outside. But then you look at West Ham, who are getting results but the fans still want Allardyce out because of the style of play. It does make you wonder if that is normal. If more fans of teams known for their stylish play see keeping the style as more important than getting the results. Hence why I asked here.}

He has done about 300% better than I could have expected. Unbeaten after 11 games ??? What is there not to like?

Joint top 11 games in, take that every season.

He speaks well and is media positive ( unlike the last regime) so we get an insight into what is going on in the club.

I am 100% behind SP

Same here, 100% behind SP. Results are good, he is trying to implement his own style of play which will take time. Sometimes is not pretty and sometimes it is. Look how long it's taking Man U te to buy into LVH's methods. We'll get there. One of the best points is the respect for the club and fans, unlike the circus of BD. Another point is he's addressing areas that have long been a problem such as a quality strikeforce and use of the wings at pace going forward. I'm totally confident in everything he's doing and will back him all the way.

With promotion in mind, results are what matters and were top of the tree. A more fluid style of play would be the icing on the cake, but with a quality squad at his mercy, its easy to forget that we are having to adapt our play to compensate for injuries to Reid, Cohen, Hobbs & Fryatt, plus an under achieving Lansbury. With SP you get a sense of togetherness, so regardless of what transpires, could never consider giving anything other than total support.

100% behind SP too. Think he has done wonders in the short space of time he has been here: united the club and fans, brought in good backroom team and quality players. What we have to remember is we have at least half a new team of players (Hunt, Mancienne, Burke, Antonio, Tesche, Fryatt, Assombalonga) who have all done well to hit the ground running. We WILL get better as they gel more and play to each other's strengths once known. Fryatt and Assombalonga have had less than half a dozen games together. To be unbeaten at this early stage (of the season AND in terms of the team's development) is brilliant. Yes I would have liked a couple more wins rather than draws in the last few games BUT so would Norwich, Watford etc. We have lost Reid, Cohen and Hobbs again to injury this season and we would have lost these games last season as we had no quality to replace them with. If we are going to have a blip I would take 4 points from 12 and stay unbeaten rather than win 1, draw 1 and lose 2. Let's stay positive and see where this season takes us and for goodness sake give SP the time (this FULL season and NEXT) to put his stamp on the club. Just look at Nigel Pearson at Leicester. They kept faith and are now reaping their rewards. It is not Promotion or bust for me this year. It is improving the structure of the club, the playing staff and quality of the squad and building some momentum to carry us forward. If it happens this season I would gladly take it, but I am happy as long as the club progresses. Onwards and upwards!!!

Don't forget bringing the youth through as well. as a manager he is doing everything right at the moment, yes a couple of results not gone our way and we have had a little bit of bad luck but as has been said we are still unbeaten going into the 2nd international break. yes it's not been pretty at times but sometimes you have to win ugly, or scrape a draw.

I can't understand the negativity at times, the mind boggles with some fans. It's bad when one minute we are praising the work Pearce has done, then 4 draws later it's like the wheels have come off. On Sunday the amount of people who missed the equaliser due to storming off must of been in the thousands. I haven't got blind belief, but I support my club and it's annoying hearing the negative stuff. Pearce called for unity at the club and that means us as fans too. There are 20 odd teams who would gladly swap our position, our best form is yet to come I believe, time will tell.

You can't run before you can walk, we played well at the start of the season, since then we have had injuries, defensive teams, better teams, and still not lost. We might not play attractive football, but we play effective football. Eventually we will play nicely but we can't get greedy, I will take the good start and use this season to build, whether we get promoted or not doesn't matter as long as we are Nottigham Forest and are united in that, that's what matters.

10.) 08 Oct 2014
Pk1 with how we attacked in the 2nd half there was a very good chance we would get that equaliser so it's mind blowing that people left early. i think some people need to get with the real world, we aren't going to win every game nor are we going to score 4 goals each game and play great football every time we go out onto the pitch.

11.) 08 Oct 2014
Pearce all the way!

12.) 09 Oct 2014
Fully agree uptheforest, I've been in Trent End 30 years and I've had enough of the moaning. Nobody sings much, I liked the old atmosphere better, think I'll move on next season. I've got belief we will make it this season, we've got that never say die attitude in the team

Moaning is just normal, particularly amongst some fans who follow the reds away. I still remember taking my lad to his first away game at Villa. Stood with loads of fans who just moaned at everything until we scored then all hell broke lose. A few minutes later the moaning returned but my lad just could not understand. I just told him it was normal for them. It looks like moaning is also the norm on here but I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how ridiculous it is. For gods sake we are joint top of the league with a quarter of the season gone.
