Lars Veldwijk reminds me of Andrea Silenzi only without the goals. I think he needs a loan spell to help build confidence - Hucknall Town maybe?

Indeed there are uncanny similarities. Both well over 6 foot, both scored goals for their previous clubs, both came with high expectations, both turned out to be garbage.

He could come to my lads team and help put the nets up and pick up the dog muck if he wants?

3.) 06 Jan 2015
Why? Is your lad fed up with doing it??

4.) 06 Jan 2015
Honestly, guys, is there any need for this childish stuff? " Garbage" ? " pick up the dog muck"? Lars is young, he's come from another country, we have always been told he's one for the future. I'm sure if anyone said this sort of stuff about your son, you'd be up in arms.

According to his agent teams in Greece and Denmark want him. I would absolutely snap their hands off.

6.) 06 Jan 2015
For Lars' size he does not seem to be punching his weight. He does not seem to want to put himself about.

7.) 06 Jan 2015
Same old stuff a strikers rubbish blah blah blah. Goals come with game time. Goals bring confidence, confidence brings goals. Lars has bait had the chance to show what he can do. When he is on he draws defenders to him and crates space for others. He needs more game time, possibly on loan, but if we sustain an injury and he comes in I think the goals will come.

Lars has not been given a chance. If he had a run in the team maybe just maybe we might see a better player

Make me laugh seeing people saying lars is rubbish, I can only remember him starting 2 matches and they were months apart and pearce's tactical substitutions with 2 mins to go in a game don't count as giving him a chance. I know people are frustrated but you are taking it out on the wrong person

10.) 06 Jan 2015
Obviously he is not to blame for our current plight but neither is he the answer. You say you remember him starting games but you obviously didn't see those games or you would be of a different opinion.

I remember time after time watching Jason Lee coming on as a late substitute and making an absolute nuisance of himself. All running, 100% effort and giving his all. I watched Lars at Huddersfield and Rochdale and don't think he won a header in either match (and given he's 7 foot tall, this is criminal). He's slow off the mark and a yard behind the pace. I'm willing him to give his all and get stuck in but he just seems to amble about. It's like playing with 10 men when he's in the side.

12.) 06 Jan 2015
There's a very good reason why this big lump has only started 2 games months apart !

13.) 06 Jan 2015
Have we found a common ground Wilderbeast? ;-)

14.) 06 Jan 2015
Just for the record, it was a joke about putting the nets up, far too serious on this forum.

15.) 06 Jan 2015
I think so Fred but I'm sure we won't make a habit of it !

How can you expect a player to come straight into a team and score goals, give lars a real run in the team and then criticize him. same goes with ince, he had been sitting on the bench at his parent club for god knows how long so was abit rusty, he plays one game for us and because he didn't sort all our problems out, people were slating him lol you guys make me laugh
