Great win last night, against a very good strong Norwich side. It required a team effort and that is what it got, 14 players all played their part in a well earned win.
David Vaughan won the man of the match award and he was outstanding. But the win tonight was all about the team playing as a unit. We sit 7th in the League, handily places to push on.
Our next game will be our biggest game of the season. Win it and in all likelihood we will be in the top 6, we will by right be mixing with the big boys again. A win on Sunday and we can rightly believe we deserve a play off position.
It will not be easy, against an in form Cardiff side, but we should go into the game confident we can get a result. Unfortunately we are up against a side managed by Mr Neil Warnock. Neil is a good manager and I am not surprised to see his Cardiff side riding high near the top of the Championship. Neil is a winner, his record at getting sides promoted is second to none. It is not always pretty, which is why I am glad he didn’t come to manage Forest. His Cardiff team will be our stiffest test yet. They won’t play pretty football, but I would not be surprised if come Sunday afternoon Forest don’t end up on the wrong end of a controversial 1:0 defeat. A disputed penalty, maybe the odd sending off.it will not be pretty and it will not be entertaining but Warnock will grin in the way only he can, knowing it is three more points and he will not care at all how his side got them. Cardiff will remain near the top of the League, because that is what Warnock sides do and Forest will slip back into the pack.
It sounds awful, it will be, it sounds inevitable, it doesn’t have to be This next sentence is vital, if you have read nothing else read this next sentence. We the Forest crowd can foil Neil Warnock's Number 1 tactic for the game on Sunday.
I guarantee with 100% certainty that at the top of Mr Warnock’s list of tactics for Sunday’s game will be GET THE FOREST CROWD ON THE FOREST PLAYERS BACKS.
Cardiff will slow the game down. The Cardiff players will dive; the Cardiff players will feign injury, they will intimidate the referee and other officials and Warnock will listen for that tell tale sign that his number one tactic is working. Have we silenced the crowd are they moaning and grumbling?

Start the campaign now. Don’t allow Warnock to use us the Forest fans as his 12th player.
Sunday is vital, don’t let Warnock use us and we can win. Our preparation as fans starts now. We are and we always will be vital to any success. The game tonight proved that the team are good enough and ready to challenge. The game on Sunday will show if we the fans are ready.
Sing your heart out for the lads, even if Warnock makes sure we have very little to sing about.

Is this the same Neil Warnock I watched that managed a Leeds team that got thrashed 7-2 at home?

Warnock's tactics will not win provided we get bodies in their box and commit their defenders!

A re-run of last nights team set up an we will lose by a couple of goals?

So Wishy is glad Warnock never managed us ,when I look back to the dross we have had I just can,t share his veiw .
The thing with Neil is when he is manager he IS manager not some yes man .
If he,d have ever took the job he,d have made us successful and if not given backing would have walked ,never a dull moment with him and players play for him and respect him which hasn,t all ways been the case at the CG .

No BSERED Warnock will try to turn the Forest crowd against the Forest players, so he will try and get them ON the players backs.

Carlo

I go to watch football to see entertainment not just to win at all cost. Neil Warnock is a very good manager, but he will not give a toss about the quality of entertainment on show. A slow boring disjointed game will suit him fine.

Redinexile.
I stick by my comment and respectfully disagree. Last night was a very good team performance and all 14 players did there bit. I even think bringing Carayol on when the defenders are tirering makes him more effective than starting him.
Having said that if Traore is fit he will return at left back and Mark will drop Lichaj.

Only joking! Lichaj will revert to right back.

It was a win last night certainly but great??? The only thing I saw was average 2 teams playing out a game of risk less chess until finally the maverick Carayol came on and did something that wasn't in the game plan manual. The fist half was like watching paint dry. The real positive was that we didn't concede and the defence overall were excellent after the first usual 10 minutes of nervousness. But please don't try and convince yourselves that it was great it was just average with one piece of brilliance.

We weren’t at the same game mate.

I saw two very talented sides fight out a competitive game.

Jordan Smith made a magnificent save to keep us 1:0 up. Their keeper made a brilliant save to deny Kieran Dowell, who got onto the end of a great move.

Norwich will be top six. We more than matched them and were the better side.

I think what Vaughan gives us in terms of industry, skill and grit is slightly tempered by him slowing play down and does have an adverse effect on our playing style. When Vaughan plays everyone seems to look to him for an out ball. Even when at times other options are on. This can slow down our progress up the pitch at times, but last night it was perfect. It was great as a Forest Fan to see a frustrated Wes Hoolahan being substituted. For me that was a ‘job done’ moment

Agree with syred and Redinexile. Great win but not convincing and first half was woeful. Both teams (especially Norwich) knocked it about well but neither had much cutting edge. We were vastly inferior and overrun in the midfield. Defending was a big plus. Worrall's best game to date in my opinion. Darikwa worries me greatly. He can't play fullback.

Great analysis Wishey.Any Warnock team is going to be aggressive, niggly and physical.I'd have Wardy out wide to add a bit of spice especially if Bridcutt is suspended (by my calculations he got his 5th booking l last night). Also we need to wrap Big Murph in cotton wool and get him fresh for Sunday to add some physical prescience up top.
