Off the bird site and just mentioned on the radio

"Steve Bruce says Reading have made bid for Jack Hobbs. He will be back at Hull on Monday. Forest have to match the bid. #hcafc #nffc"

what do we reckon ed?

Forestthrured

{Ed034's Note - I reckon we should match their bid

1.) Do not pay them anything

2.) Hobbs has been fantastic all season & it's imperative that we keep hold of him & match Reading's bid.

3.) How can they recall him? Thought we went through all this! Billy said they can only recall him in an emergency like they can't fill their squad.

4.) Ed Steve Bruce is talking rubbish yesterday Adkins said the club can't but anyone till the new owners give the green light so what's changed is Bruce telling the truth

5.) I would agree that if it's 600k then it wld seem cheap. However the whole thing jus seems wrong if it's a season long loan an they can only recall him if they have injury problems. An they clearly Don't! Then how can it be right the trouble is like in life a deals no longer a deal these days. A perfect example I shook hands with a customer last week on a deal he then asked if he could take us handshake back 10 mins later as he'd changed his mind!proves a handshakes worth very little these days! But bear in mind we would have had a signed agreement again it would seem in Hulls case worth Nothing! Rant over head hope you had a good day at the Game btw

6.) Very true fact about Hobbs. Let's hope billy gets in ASAP. Awesome form at the moment who plays good along side lacellas. #YouReds!

7.) Listened to Steve Bruce interview. It's Nottingham Steve, not Notts Forest. How rude! Sign the boy up Fawaz. Please.

8.) All depends on what the loan contract says

9.) I agree don't pay them not because I don't won't Hobbs but because he has stated he wants to stay. Stop me if I'm wrong but all he has to do is tell Bruce I'm not moving anywhere but forest, they can't force him to sign. this however could mean we lose him until he is a free agent in 5 months time

10.) BD says it has got nothing to do with reading, Wigan or anyone else. It's clear Hobbs wants to stay so it's between NFFC and hull only. The two clubs need to work it out. Hobbs has done a hamstring.

Jack Hobbs is ours if we want him. End of. Reading are persons.

11.) 11 Jan 2014 18:47:35
Tell Hobbs that if he agrees to stay put and sit tight we pay no money for him and give him a bigger signing on fee in the Summer ;)

12.) Do not pay them anything!just buy some one else for 3mill instead of spending 500 k on hobs genius.

13.) A loan deal was put in place with a permo deal at the end. now hull realise he's worth something they want to disragard the agreement as it suits them. I say stick two figures up at them and take it to the fa.

14.) It is if we actually place a bid we have had two weeks to do so and have not Worried we will lose him and also not sign anyone before the window closes Billy keeps saying he advises and recommends sounds familiar

15.) Off the bird site again just before 7pm

"#NFFC fans, Nigel Adkins has confirmed #readingfc can't sign anyone until they get a takeover. Steve Bruce is telling porkies #hcfc"

16.) Good comment ed

17.) End of the day its up to hobbs if he tells bruce to do one I want to stay at forest & won't sign for anyone else can't see he can do owt about it, if they recall hobbs without good reason ie play him in their starting 11 then it looks like they have gone back on their word & who would want to deal with them again

18.) If he has done a hamstring Hobbs may be out for quite a while. If Wilson out still it means bringing back Collins or moving Halford again. Not ideal with Lichaj injured and reliant on Harding today.

19.) If you listen to Steve Bruce interview, he actually says that Ultimately it is down to Hobbs.
So if he wants to stay at Forest then there is not a lot Hull can do about it. They can't make him sign for Reading.
I really feel that Forest don't need to pay a fee if the player is buying into us

20.) 11 Jan 2014 19:53:29
The only way Jack will be sold is if another club come in and make an offer, hull accept BUT jack hobbs has to agree to these terms, from what I know, Jack loves it here so why would he agree terms?
Surely a move can't go through, Hull won't be able to recall him as there is no emergency, and at the end of Jacks loan spell he will be near enough out of contract so he'll be a freebie.
I can see why this deal is dragging along, Fawaz probably doesn't see why we have to pay 600k or so now when we can get him for free in the summer.

21.) It doesn't matter who put what bid in. If he doesn't want to go. then we snap him up for nothing in summer if billy doesn't pull his finger out now

22.) There was that jerno and that agent on bbd notts saying about how steve bruce was very good at playing the press etc to boost value of players etc. this is probably all tactics to make us pay for something we will get for nowt come end of season. don't worry. fawas isn't stupid.

23.) Tell you what if they're willing to spend 2.5 million on Wilson, Hobbs is worth 5 million by those standards, 600k is a steal

24.) You keep saying its a snip/bargain/steal at 600k but that is 600k we shouldn't have to spend due to an agreement between two clubs. if hull hold us to ransom and we end up paying for hobbs other clubs will all do the same with there players that are on loan. then a season long loan will not be a season long loan if the player plays well in the first half of the season. football is a shambles.

25.) Ed, what is your understanding of the loan deal, like others who have posted here, I thought it was reported that it was a season long loan which effectively meant a free transfer at the end - how come Hull can recall and sell him to another club?

{Ed034's Note - my understanding is at the start of the season both billy, hull and Hobbs all agreed he would be our player all season and will be only recalled if hull had an injury crisis. This was because hull wanted to think him for his service.
At the end of the season he'd then be a free argent and Hobbs has already agreed a deal or join us.
Now hull have gone back on their deal and are now trying to get money for the player, even though they said he could leave for free.

26.) Dont matter what the price! if Mr Hobbs wants to stay then I think it shoud be up to the Player and take a stand that

A-He wants to stay.
B-He likes what is going on here
C-He enjoys Nottingham.
D-All the Above.

27.) Both billy, hull and Hobbs?

28.) Ed, based on that fact alone, Hobbs should tell Hull to do one, even if it means playing in the reserves for the rest of the season.

Why should he let them benefit from a fee if they have gone back on their word to him.

I know it won't be beneficial to us but they need to be taught a lesson

{Ed034's Note - they shouldn't but I'm hoping we can pay a small nominal fee, to secure him for the rest of the season

29.) Davies would do the same, and any other manager. if you could get money for someone rather than let them go for free, it makes financial sense to do so. its business i'm afraid, its a ruthless world

{Ed034's Note - you also have to build relationships, show you are honest and think about the player. He's not a piece if furniture they are selling

30.) Exactly what I said about George Boyd

{Ed034's Note - completely different. They would not send us parts of his medical history. Without that we could not sigh him

31.) Pay the money for Hobbs and Vaughan and then we can move on for a left back and a striker

32.) What everyone fails to understand is the position Hobbs will be in tomorrow. If Reading have had an offer accepted he will go there. Hull and Reading are playing a canny game with us. Hull want money for a player they get nothing for in June. Reading either force us to pay up which means we lose cash for other players or get the player which weakens us.

For Hobbs - if we don't pay Hull up - either get a 3 year deal with Reading on a guaranteed say £10k per week. or wait till the end of the season and risk a Cohen like injury on the last day and no deal with anyone. If you had a family you'd take the offer on the table. even if you love forest. We're really just being done by Hull and Reading.

33.) The slave trade was abolished years ago. players have the upper hand, and if hobbs wants to play at forest, that's where he will play.

34.) Regarding the post about Reading not able to sign anyone until takeover is done, I've also been told this from a Reading Season ticket holder too.

Forest want to add pace down the wing in the form of Serge Gnabry, on-loan. The young lad wants first team football in the form of lower-end premier league/top championship as he tries to cement a World Cup place. Wenger will be using this lad more regularly next season.

Forestthrured

1.) Would love this but not possible.

2.) Why not possible

3.) Didn't he sing "Je t'aime" in the 70s?

27 Jul 2013 13:59:11
McLaughlin set too go out on loan to Notts County on a short-term loan deal. Billy wants McLaughlin too gain some quality match experience too use as back up to the wingers, as Cohen will be used at LB. - personally I think this will be a good move as I believe McLaughlin is a good player

Forestthrured

1.) Mcl is going to be a forest star. he looks great to me😊

2.) We don't normally help Notts. I can't see it myself. {Ed034's Note - we have an history of loaning players to Notts

3.) Mc Laughlin will be brilliant

4.) I know Mclaughlins cousin and he was baffled by why he wasnt in the first team squad last season, saying he is better than james mclean and many others to come out of Ireland. {Ed034's Note - maybe because when he got on the bench and was close to first team, he got injured and wasn't fit for the rest if the season. Surely he cousin must know thus as it is common knowledge

5.) I can't see it due to what clounty have done to our ladies team. Would rather support mansfield with our youth than clounty now.

Mod red

6.) This was before he got injured and wasnt anywhere near the bench.

7.) When he wasnt injured he wasn't on the bench when he should have been

Some good news on an existing player - Andy Reid will be offered another year on his contract to tie him down too 2015 and some news across from the Trent, is that Krystian Pearce is readying himself for a move too the City Ground, with Forest look poised to make a bid in the region of £200,000

Forestthrured

1.) Reid is a quality player but we don't need him that long. Big fan of Pearce, can't see him first choice though

2.) Struggling to work how this is good news, Reidy has maybe one more year at this level left in him and you will see him being used as a impact player more this year from the bench.

Krystian is no better than League 1.

I am getting a little fed up of this transfer circus, we don't seem to be able to get deals done quickly.

Ac

3.) Ha he can't even get in Notts first team. Troll alert

4.) Have you lot seen Pearce play? Quick and reads the game well from what I've seen.
The point about him being in and out the side is a valid one though I've often wondered if he has attitude problems?
We could take a punt at that price but the fact remains is we've been looking abroad for players, prem players & those with champions league experience a season or two ago I would've said (& did!) he would be worth a punt but not now
Notts Loyal

5.) He played for notts like 7 times last year and notts haven't offered him a new contract yet you think forest should take a gamble on him. he is a free agent for a reason and has had over 6 clubs at the age of 24 for a reason

6.) 24 Jul 2013 17:00:13
Absolute rubbish regards Pearce!

I hear it from a good source within the club that Billy Davies will pay S'hampton asking price for Sharp, however wants Sharp to take a major pay-cut too bring him in line with Cohen and Halfords wages.

Liam Trotter is being lined up, if all fails with leadbitter and the radio contrat won't be renewed as Forest want fans too sign up to Forest Player for 'exclusive' highlights and commentary

Forestthrured

1.) How much is forest player

2.) £4. 99 per month

3.) Trotter crocked mate! Knee

4.) Forest must be mad to go 100% to forest player I've just checked with 2 of my fruit related devices 1 is a phone another a pad thing

Both need flash player to work of which the fruit maker doesn't support so counts me and 1000's of others out then

5.) 17 Jul 2013 18:34:12
Codswallop

6.) Think it costs just under a fiver a mth, but there are different pay options, pay a one of etc get a better deal, prob worth it, and mite make sense really, extra renvenue.
Kirky red.

7.) I got android jellybean 4. 2. 2. no longer supports flash. no forest player for me then.

8.) Forest player is a real pain, hope they sort a radio deal out

9.) You can get forest player and live comms on the fruity ones now started last season I get it on the phone and pad {Ed034's Note - where??

10.) I downloaded the football league app and get all the forest player stuff there {Ed034's Note - on your iPad??

11.) My transit only got a FM radio, need summat sorting now

pinxton

12.) Don't the apps that allow flash to run on iphone work on forset player then?

13.) Ed me again on iPad now not phone - I have forest player live radio thru both the app is FL Football. it's on my desktop and I watched Billy's interview on y iPad last night {Ed034's Note - ok thanks.

14.) The football league app is aiming to get live commentary soon but there is all the highlights and interviews are on there

15.) Puffin browser app hosts flash on servers away from your fruity device and will allow you to use forest player.
I used it all last season when I was away from home.

16.) Forest player streamed Radio Nottingham commentary except for some friendlies when they did it themselves. Very poor in comparison

17.) I tried puffin on android tab does work but charges you, instead get Firefox free and works. On the evil fruit tab Google how to install flash as it can be done. Plus the fl app works without flash just not commentary

18.) Can`t see Sharp wanting a pay-cut, no matter who he plays for.

19.) That's a joke! I think so many people will fall out with the board for that. If it happens!

20.) No chance I'll pay for Forest Player which is prone to dropping out on my laptop, even worse through the Football League app and (on past experience) the commentaries are dull and lifeless compared to what we've had from Chippers, Fray and McGovern. Oh and on top of that I won't be able to access the bloody thing whilst I'm at work

21.) Why don't th club just come out and say what the situation is rather than leave fans hanging on? Remember those fans who can't attend games due costs etc. rather than use the monies that have flooded the game it's been used to line players and agents pockets, again the ordinary fan is shafted!

22.) Im the other side of the world in a place where the Internet can be somewhat restricted and filtered and with crappy speeds, I'm sure Ed can verify that, I use the forest player on my iPhone via the football league app and I've had no problems with connecting of dropping connection. As a Red who can't get to many games I'm happy to pay the subscription to support te club in a small way.

23.) Just to add, the player has live radio commentary from BBC Nottm, I'm sure everyone knows that though.

Maybe, worth a try? Isn't Rob Earnshaw a Free Agent now? I loved the guy when he was at Forest, old regime let him go you know The ones who let our decent players leave for Free every season! Think Forest should give him a chance, 1 goal in 3 was his record, what you reckon ed?!

Forestthrured

{Ed034's Note - no, no, no. A day doesn't go by without him being mentioned. He isn't the same earnie as we all remember

1.) Watched him play in toronto he is well past the point where he can contribute at this level. Please move on.

2.) Think I would rather Ernie wise

3.) I can go to a secluded car park in Cannock and ask Stan what he's doing on Saturday if you like?

4.) Lmao can go to my old gym and ask him if you like (mr maynard)

5.) End of the day though, if you got the ball to him on the edge or in the area, he'd have it in the back of the net nine times out of ten. Without a doubt.

Not a transfer rumour but more along the lines of an addition to the backroom staff is that I've heard Darren Huckerby could be returning to The City Ground as a coach after gaining experience at Norwich. He is interested in working with Davies and personally feels Forest have enough in the tank to make it too the premier league.

Why did Forest never sign Huckerby permanently?

Forestthrured

1.) I always liked huckerby very direct head down great runner through the channels

2.) We had a deal to sign him perm if we went up but we didnt.

3.) Could do with him playing.
