Brazilian newspaper reporting forest have put a £5 million bid in for Luis Fabiano, personally I cannot see this happening
1.) £5m dollars so about £2.5/3m pounds and I would genuinely be amazed if this happened
2.) Would be a great signing but I can't see it happening myself. Would love to be wrong though.
3.) It's fake! FTID
4.) Other forums touting this rumour to also be fake. Several people suggesting that person who has wrote this has spent a lot of time making it look convincing but that there is no truth in it. Would love it to be true but I can't see it. I think it's fair to say that SP is looking overseas for a striker though. Good move IMO
5.) Its not even dollars. its 'Brazilian real' which means it is £1. 25m to us
6.) he is valued at £1. 06m. Still can't see it happening tho'
7.) He's 33 - rather have buck toothed Ronaldinho if were signing aged Brazilian stars of the past
8.) 02 Aug 2014 17:18:17
Rlb84 just because he's 33 doesn't determine his ability doubt he'd even come when he's 40 lamps is over 35 gerrards 34 you wouldn't turn them down

Just translated a Kuwaiti newspaper interview with fawaz in it says "businessman and veteran sports Fawaz Mubarak Hasawi owner and president of the club Nottingham Forest FA in an exclusive interview to the newspaper that he decided to launch the name of the State of Kuwait on the playground ( The City Ground)'s Club Nottingham so that it is named (Kuwait City Ground) in addition to put the name of the State of Kuwait on the team jerseys official so that it becomes as follows (KUW), after receiving the blessing of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Young Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah. "
1.) I have just read the article and, although the translation isn't great, it does seem to be true.
2.) Am l the only person slightly cringing having read that? Fawaz has only given during his time at the club but this feels like taking something away. Would probably be good financially, is it progress? Really not sure how it sits with me.
3.) 18 Jul 2014 20:53:33
No, no and no. 'The Kuwait city ground' sponsored by Kuwait the country with its capital city 'Kuwait City' as the sponsor. Looks like a sneaky attempt at keeping the city ground alive but rebranding at the same time. I don't care how much money it brings in and I don't mind the stadium being called the fawaz arena or the Adidas ground for example. But Kuwait City ground is no more Nottingham than the others and the idea of it becoming a piece of Kuwait in the East Midlands would really rub me the wrong way. I hope it isn't true. Rant over.
4.) 18 Jul 2014 22:51:44
I agree why should a your name be changed, we're not a Kuwait football team
5.) It's football these days! times have changed! you have to do what it takes to get back to the top! Quit being negative all the time! You can't be successful without having good financial backing! ask man city, Chelsea, PSG ect. support it not fight it! Fawaz is doing what's right for forest, as he has already shown in his short time that hae has been here! FTID COYR
6.) Really? The Kuwait city ground in my eyes is a decent compromise! All these people coming on moaning that we can't spend money on players and we have to sell our best players because of FIFA fair play. Well this way it is still city ground. There is no pleasing some people! Kuwait is the sponsor, doesn't make our club Eastern European or change anything! It is so short sited you saying that. When st James park got changed to sports direct arena, they didn't start selling half time dodgy jogging bottoms did they? The name is just like the name on the shirt, it doesn't change a thing about the club. Like the carling/worthington/league cup. We have kept city ground as the name so it's a win in my opinion.
{Ed003's Note - Finances are nothing to do with FIFA fair play rules in The Championship.}
7.) I think we have to be a realistic about the matter.
Re naming the ground is a way around FFP, Man City have been backed the the same government to the tune of millions.
We have to remember that the club actually runs at a loss and without Fawaz we would be doomed.
He wants to do what's best for the club and with the extra financial backing the promised land can't be far away.
We can't expect a big sponsorship deal until we get promoted as can we expect Fawaz to keep spending his own money.
We don't want to lose our better players but without financial assistance we will only end up with a fine and a transfer embargo.
I know which I would prefer
8.) Go for it Fawaz - no issues here
9.) How any fan can complain at the name change is beyond me. It will still be the city ground to us fans. Basically still the city ground if the rumoured name is to be believed any ways. Our owner is from KIWAIT, he's trying to get big investment from KUWAIT so if that means adding Kuwait before city ground to secure extra funds to strengthen and comply with ffp then so be it as it's all for the greater good of our club.
10.) To All those that are against this
Can I just introduce you to modern day football.
This could be our first step onto a long road to the big time and what do you do?
Moan
Find something to grumble about
Some of you are unbelievable
11.) It will always be the City Ground regardless of any renaming. Fantastic times ahead, young lads in, tried and tested in and more to come. One of the things that exites me that we have not had is the stability and people in the background working wonders.
12.) Fawaz loves the club & is as passionate as us all Forest fans. So in Fawaz we trust~ with Top Flight Football destined at the Q8 City Ground!
13.) A great idea. Onwards and upwards.
14.) I'm afraid that's the sign of the times. People are desparate for success and only money will buy you that. If you want to keep up you need to sell all your assets, your name, your history and your heritage. Do we want to be a Man City or a Notts county? I think take the money and go for it. Whatever happens it will always be the City Ground to the fans.
15.) I can't understand why anyone would be negative about this. Which do you care most about, the city ground having Kuwait in front of it or a 3rd star on our shirts?
16.) Kuwait City Ground Oh mist rolling in from the trent?. Nah
17.) I say, go for it! I want my beloved Forest back in PL, and football at the highest level today take the right persons and money at the right time. I trust in Fawaz, this could be the right time, persons and money, GO REDS FOREVER!
18.) Arsenal lost Highbury completely and were given a shiny new stadium called The Emirates. Seems like most have accepted that now. As a name change its a less aggressive compromise, bring on the prem.
19.) 19 Jul 2014 10:11:59
We will all still call it the city ground. Don't see why people would be bothered. If it means a lot of money coming in then crack on. People think fawaz can just pump money into the club but he can't. Ffp prevents that and we need ways around it.
20.) Let's hope they do no want to change our colours or badge :- (
{Ed034's Note - why would they?? Fawaz lives tradition
21.) As long as we remain Nottingham Forest. does it really matter. we can't keep losing 8 to 10 million every year. Follow Forest home and away enjoy following your club, the names of grounds are changing quickly with the times. The mist will always roll in from the Trent. U REDS
22.) What's not to like about this deal!! Millions in the bank and still " City Ground" in the name? Win win I think!
23.) Because Ed, Kuwait Government giving u s millions KUW on the shirt, Kuwait City Ground, I can see them wanting to add Green and black to our colours, just a thought? that's one thing I wouldn't be happy about :- ( we will always be Red!
{Ed034's Note - fawaz has only ever gone on about history, fans, tradition. There is absolute no reason to think this will happen.
24.) Let's be honest at least there not tryin to re name it somethin that has absolutely nothin to do with the club, for example the I pro stadium. We would still be keepin the name which shows the owners passion and pride for the club

Rumoured forest target Jack Collison is currently on trial with QPR
1.) I heard the same from a qpr fan at work, may have missed out on this one, he will have premiership football and qpr can probably pay him more
2.) He is not on trial at QPR. He is simply training with them to keep his fitness up. also he is definitely not a Forest target!
3.) Shame I felt he could have done a job for us.
4.) Definitely no loss!
we've had better players then that and released them! (my opinion) FTID

Christian Bolanos has rejected a contract offer from Forest due to personal reasons.
1.) That can only be a good thing. Would be a big gamble in my eyes to sign him.
2.) Where has this been reported? Any ideas ed. Also any news on sponsor yet
{Ed034's Note - usual social media places. seems legit anf been suggested he has been offered more money in the far east
3.) Reckon he'd try n be billy big balls anyway not sure he's right for our rebuilding?
If all he's bothered about is the reddies then he's not bothered about us red dogs- jog him on I say!
A up 'Sop red I'm from Retty ;-)
4.) 14 Jul 2014 14:52:10
I'm sorry to hear that Nottsloyal but someone has too lol.

Forest have contacted Reading about a possible move for winger Jobi McAnuff
1.) Just seen this on Ssn transfer rumour as well mate I personal think this would be a brilliant signing I have always rated him as a player hope fawaz getspen to paper and gets the job done think he's just what we are looking for on wing or can drop central if needed
2.) Is he not a free agent?
{Ed034's Note - yes he is
3.) He has also had offers from abroad
4.) Too yesterday
We need young, hungry and quick!
5.) He is 32! Was a decent player, thought SP was looking at younger players? Not for me, there is better!
6.) He was alright a few years back, shown little since, reading fans don't like him, they lost patience, he was too lazy. A lot better out there than him
7.) Bring Mcleary back. better than McDuff.
8.) Also interested in readings leigerwood, another free and again over 30! Still think we need a big name striker
9.) Still a decent player but I thought we were aiming higher.
10.) If he showed so little why did he make 32 appearances last season for Reading?
11.) Not saying their not decent players, but age is going against them both, have they both been released by Reading, if so why?
So we are interested in two players that are possibly let go by Reading
12.) We don't know if they've been let go by reading, they might just be weighing up their options before signing.
{Ed034's Note - they are free agents
13.) But Ed do we know if they have been offered new deals by Reading?
{Ed034's Note - whether they had or hasn't, they will not be going back to reading. The club have confirmed this
14.) 10 Jul 2014 21:03:56
Even if he is old surely if we bring in too many youngsters then could we risk having a lack of experience? He was readings old captain so surely would be a good impact player and a very good role to the young ones in the squad.

Fawaz will release a statement tomorrow regarding Karl and Jamaal's transfer saga and tweets 'thank you for all your comments and opinions' 'I thought I deserved better then that'
1.) I think that there was a lot of unfair comments made about the club and Fawaz last night.
I don't agree how Fawaz has gone about what he has done but can see why he has done it. Like Ed says, a simple call to SP to let him know would have made this an entirely different situation.
Also, taking JL's and KD's wages off our bill and the loan fees on top of the £7m transfer fee, what are we really looking at as a deal? £9-10m or thereabouts?
In my own humble opinion, I think that the foolish ones here are KD and JL, not Fawaz or SP. Here at the CG they would have had guaranteed 1st team football regularly, at NUFC they will be reserves or bench warmers and maybe never realise their full potential.
Who knows? Who knows that neither will swing at their first ball on Saturday and bust a knee for the season. What do we get to do? Send them back at the expense of NUFC. Who knows that they will have the same kind of season this year as they had last year? What do we do? Use Forest players that want to be at the CG.
It's not as bad as it seems. The future is bright, the future is Forest.
2.) 05 Aug 2014 08:50:56
Agreed, but so did Stuart Pearce
Wesley Van Veldwijk's rumour replies
Sounds worrying, a lot of speculation that Darlow could be leaving with Jack Butland coming in on loan
According to reports Mourinho has said Baker is staying in the first team squad with Bamford, Chalobah and Swift going out on loan
Adam Clayton isn't in the Huddersfield team against Guiseley AFC tonight
Looks like a hidden talent, where has this rumour come from?
Having translated part of the interview he also mentions that he will never change the grounds name in lucrative sponsorship deals like man city and the Etihad as well Arsenal and the Emirates which strip away the clubs traditions for capital gain
Wesley Van Veldwijk's banter replies
Silva is playing for the U21's against Boston tonight along with Roger Riera and trialist's manuel Royo (nike academy) and Guillaume Asare (FC Dijon)
