Just saying we beat easily Chelsea in their own back yard. They then draw away with Liverpool. We beat Sunderland in a way how we were beaten by AV. Today Sunderland are drawing atm with MU. We lost, let’s face it, against AV because we worked very hard to beat the above two quite dramatically.
The Geordies are a mere 3 points ahead of us. Should we beat them - which I think we will - we not only make ourselves safe but also be above Newcastle.
My guess is you cannot keep a good man down and if the club medics give an amber light, MGW will play.

Haven’t been on here for a while as the negativity and childishness for certain quarters became draining, thought I’d have a look back in, and the same two people are still causing the same issues, I’ve not always seen eye to eye with winter, but he’s bang on here, a couple of wind up artists have ruined this site, and the comment about winter and illegal substances was a disgrace.

My view is Bakwa is better than Hutchinson at this moment, and Tiawo is better than Wood/Jesus. Is it time to drop two up front, especially if MGW is not playing? Then 5 at the back, with Netz and Nico as wing backs. Midfield: Anderson, Yates, McAtee, Bakwa, Tiawo.

I don't think it was a case of players not turning up on Thursday night, it's simply a case that players like McAtee, Jesus, Morata, Chunja, Abbott, Dominguez aren't good enough at this level of football. They can get away with it when good players like Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Aina, Murrillo are in the team, but they can't do a satisfactory job without them.
Dominguez is showing that he can't improve and move onto the next level - he showed promise at first. Also we were without a world class goalkeeper in Sels who boosts confidence in the defence. If these players are still at the club next season, I'm afraid it will be another relegation battle and no silverware?

We'd gone 10 games unbeaten without most of those players. We were still in the game until one of our established players came on and gave them a penalty. You're wrong. They played poorly and let the club down.

Abbot and Jair are 19 and 20. They will be inconsistent, and they play out of position.
Football is a team game. Of course, more talented players help other players around them, that's how it should be.
We didn't match Villa's intensity for whatever reason on Thursday.
Time to look forward to tomorrow's game and go for the win and cement our Premier League status.

It's not carrying him, it's teamwork. McAtee makes passes that some players can only dream of, granted he is a little bit lightweight in a battle.

McAtee will do ok in the Championship. Next season, when we sell him on cheap as chips to a Championship side, another reminder of the shower edu wasted on bang average players.

Not posted for a while but I wish people would calm down after the result the other night. The performance was poor, and the line up a little odd from VP despite so many key players missing.
For me, VP has exceeded all expectations and if we stay up (which we will) he has done much better than I feared.
What the result highlights is that the squad was nowhere near good enough for Europe really. We did well to get to the Semis, but the other teams were quite weak, and against the best team in it (Villa) we were played off the park when we had to play lesser players.
But the overall message is we need stability and planning. Anderson will leave (good luck to him) and I suspect Murillo, but how we redeploy those funds and actually sign with some logic, is all that really matters (and keeping Morgan).
That, together with proper support for VP, is what he deserves, what we need and - also - what we deserve in many respects.
The problem is this has zero chance of happening without owner, I assume. VP may or may not stay and any player arriving will have seen the turmoil of last 12 months (longer?) and have concerns.
That team. squad as it is an 8th-10th place team and it has chronically underperformed (albeit without Wood it is harder to tell). With some stability etc we can stay at that level and get rid of the annual relegation drama. I hope that happens but I very much doubt it will.
