Newcastle are interested in Osborn. Offers in the region of 5m likely to be accepted. For me he's not worth that so would snap their hand off if an offer came in. It would make sense for him to go and join up with old academy team mates Lascelles and Darlow. Maybe we could look at a deal for Darlow to come the other way.

Versatile left footer £5m? Too cheap in todays market. I would accept offers over £10m or a straight swap for Mitrovic.👍

£5mil for osborn would be close to the full fee wed have to pay for marriott. i look at it and think would you swap osborn for marriott as the transfer fees and wages would be similar. surely there's no doubt youd rather have marriott out of the 2.

A player like Benny would be difficult to replace for that money it seems our fans underestimate our home grown players to me

Would not be happy if we sold Osborn for 5m can play anywhere in midfield and fill in at lb, still only 23 and been our most consistent best performer for the last 3 seasons. 10m+ at least for me or less with a player involved too such as darlow, Colback or Mitrovic

A lot of players could play in various positions and do a decent job, it doesn't mean they're value doubles. Like I've said before, he's jack of all trades, master of none, we need a team of masters.

Unless we had an offer we can't refuse, he's to good to release. The main factor being, his heart is with Forest. You can't buy that.

Gaza don’t think anyone said his value should double, greatest team we ever had had a jack of all trades, his goal in cologne got us to our 1st ever European cup final, clough always said Ian bowyer was 1 of his most important squad members not because of his outstanding ability,he was less technically gifted than most in the team but because he had great attitude and fight ibelieve Ben is in a similar mold

If we sell Osborn AK is not the manager we need. Too many on here are quick to criticise Benny but to me he is one of the best players we have got, and I'd be very loath to lose him.

Osborn doesn't know how to play a forward pass, he can't take the ball past a man, he's physically weak. I could have a the best pass percentage at Forest if 99% of my passes were sideways or backwards. Massively over rated but shows how bad the team has been for him to be considered our player of the season. Good news is, AK sees this too, that's why he's looking to buy a new team.

Gazza, I wouldn’t sell him on the cheap but you Are so right to highlight how bad the team has been if Ben has been our best player for 3 seasons. Solid performer with a good attitude no doubt.

Regarding us underestimating our ‘homegrown talent’ I only base my opinion on what I see at the home games and apart from cash no one has convinced me they are what many have said they are.

our league position is testament to the fact we tried to play four : five of smith, clough, Worrall, Cash, McKay, Cummings, Walker and Brereton in the same team. Never going to work. I don’t include Osborn now, he’s a senior player by right.

I acknowledge that some fellow reds are irritated by those who are willing to watch the youngsters toil and under achieve. To be honest I get irritated when it’s expected of us to watch players, who aren’t ready and who get out thought and outplayed. It’s not value for money I’m afraid and thankfully we won’t be expected to watch so many of them next season, I’m not knocking their efforts but we need to be winning more games

Osborn might be a lot of things??

Imo Osborn at the right price. Sell. Puts in the graft but when midfield simply not enough goals or physical presence.Thats why Watson & co came in.As LB just too small as Cardiff showed.
Versatile, but since his Ipswich debut his progression has stalled.

2star I actually agree with you I think Brereton will be a top player, but as you say he's not ready to do the job he’s being asked to do,same goes for worrall, cash had a couple of good games later in the season, bu has been in and out before that, as regards Cummings and McKay simply not good enough, I go home and most away and am too tired of watching boys trying to do men’s jobs, not their fault though, thought your post was in general spot on mate,
