Thought that Antonio was excellent today, his first touches were top class and his work ethic was unreal. One minute he's back defending, the next the ball was rippling the net.
I'm a big fan of Pato & Mackie but can't see them shifting Antonio or Burke to be honest.
All the new boys have pace to burn, worked rate at 100% and skill and touch to die for.
It's going to a hard task for the injured players to return. Cohen has made that holding role his own. It'll be a big call to shift him, the wide men are all good and Fryatt & Brett look light they are forming a amazing partnership. The futures looking great.
Yes we're winning but it nice to hear that Sp wanted more, just like us. He wants the CG to be a fortress again and to kill teams off early. Can't wait till the 14th.

{Ed034's Note - thought he was poor other than goals. Nice to be able to criticise in that way though

I'm with ed here. on paper you see he scored two and set one up you would think man of the match performance but I thought his control and running with the ball were average. he is dangerous but I think there is more to come when he's got the ball.
Credit to him though for being in the right place to finish his goals off. I thought Reid was off form today. that holding dropping back toll doesn't suit him.

Jackie has gone out on loan.

Very happy to hear that SP was far from pleased with the first half performance on the basis that they "undersold" themselves. He's really pushing the players to play to their full potential and they're revelling in it.

I thought Antonio was very good defensively. Sounds ridiculous given he scored two but thought he had his worst game going forward!
Regarding the Cohen comment I genuinely don't think he is making that position his own. All a mater of opinion granted but in mine both Vaughan and Lansbury are better players in that role.
For me Cohen is our first choice left back

Question is: where does lansbury and vaughan fit in to this team? Great problem for psycho to have!

Ed-you thought Antonio was poor apart from the goals? me thinks you had one too many panda pops :-) he wasn't the best on the pitch but he worked hard going forward, helped with the defensive duties and scored twice-very well played. I couldn't really pick a mom but I do think burke, fryatt and mancienne did well, assomba looks good and I was so pleased to see cohen look at his best. I liked how burke dropped back and into a sllightly more central position in the 2nd half, they didn't really know how to deal with him. Great result, great performance, great atmosphere and looking like we are in for some fun this season. SP has got his work cut out when other players are 100% fit and pushing for a starting place.

{Ed034's Note - as I say, other than the gipsies, I thought he was poor. He is there as an outlet to turn defence into attack and I don't think had dud they well enough.
I'll quite happy say good every game if had carries on scoring though

Seems like quite a clumsy player, his touch isn't the best but he's scoring goals, so whatever.

When Lansbury and/or Vaughan back I would drop Harding put Cohen left back.

He's awesome up that left wing.
He's awesome anywhere for that matter

We have the strike force we have been crying out for we're going to be hard to beat this year one of the best forest squads I've seen for a long time if u can play like that and win 4-0 what happens when ŵe play better bring on premiership

I thought Cohen had an excellent game in midfield to be honest. Very impressed by Pearce's half time tactical switches in both of the last two games.

Don't think Antonio was poor! Thought he tracked back well, was a real handful and ghosted in at the back post for both goals with quality finishes. Also set Fryatt up and was in the mix before Britt scored. If that's poor, long may it continue and I can't wait to see him when he has an average, good or excellent game!! :-)

{Ed034's Note - I just wasn't impressed with his attacking play, yet he scored two goals. With his pace and power I am hoping he would be able to get past his man a few times

I'm with Keeno. We had a poor spell in the first half where Cohen and Reid were outplayed in the middle for fifteen minutes. They played some good stuff but reading had an eighteen year old debutant in there so they should have been able to play. Lansbury and Vaughan is my first choice central pairing. Vaughan made the holding role his own last season and Lansbury is our best player by far. Probably the best in the league? I also think it would be unfair to drop both Harding and fox from the left back role for Cohen so where does that leave him and Reid? On the bench I guess.

I kind of agree with you on the Antonio front ed. It wasn't his best game. He seems to be one of them players who has moments, albeit, a few of them. He worked hard going forward and does some defensive duties although I would like a bit more, (I still feel we leave our left back slightly open, something we did all last season). He does seem good in the final third however and with Burke and Fryatt working back, maybe that's ok. We didn't concede after all.
