if Nigel will come I want him. He had a problem with Billy Davies (who didn't) he has always said he has a passion for Forest. He will make us better. Dream ticket would be Pearce as Director of Football.

I have to agree, said it on here a few times that Pearce could do that type of job for us, both together would be good.

I would love to see them both back at CG but TBF what fool would come at the moment, until all of the new plans are in place (if all of the new plans ever get put in place) I am convinced no one with any real gumption would consider becoming a manager.

Another set of fanciful idealist dreams. Pearce and Clough legendary players during a amazing times for the club. Other than that link to the past they have nothing going for them. I know we are desperate but we are believing that fairy tales can come true.

Not going to happen. Pearce and Fawaz didn't get on at all and Clough is too bright to want to put his head into a vice voluntarily - we've had the Clough thing, need something else, but nothing positive will happen until Fawaz leaves.

Agree 2star, no use living in fairytale la la Land. I'm not sure just how good Clough is as a manager anyway, also I will never forget what he said about our club when manager of Derby. A disgraceful and shameful treatment of a club that he was supposed to cherish.

The thing is Clough is exactly the manager that Fawaz needs to sign. It will boost the fans, boost the attendances, and show that he means business. The problem is there's no reason for Nigel to come to us, he has everything to lose by doing so. Personally I think he's a good manager that will do a great job, I hope we can get him.

Dont worry it won't happen. A quick call to Psycho will give Nígel a quick answer if he is considering the job.

If Nigel wants the job then give it to him. Not necessarily the manager we want, more the manager we need. He'll shore us up on the pitch whilst we sort the Fawaz mess. there's hardly a queue of viable candidates desperate to manage a lower championship basket case. Burton have reached their level and we have a raft of scope to improve. Then there's the emotional pull. I hope he takes it.

2star not idealist at all. Clough has improved every club he has managed. Pearce was sacked to quickly and his signings were good.

So Cjay, how are "we" going to sort out the "Fawaz mess"?

A reasonable argument wishey apart from his record in the championship is poor.

Just a point about nigel if his name was nigel smith would we be looking at him ex players don't always make good managers.

Bsered: far as I can see mate we there are 2 viable options for the club to function going forward. Option 1 : Fawaz finds a buyer. Option 2 : Folk like Collymore and the Supporters trust remain firmly on his case to get the right controls in place for the club to rebuild from the bottom. Either way we need a manager to keep us out of League 1 initially and keep us stable thereafter. Clough fits that criteria.
