Forest need to pull their fingers out of their arses and give lichaj that contract, he's stated he's happy here, loves the club and so does his family. He was immense on saturday throwing his body in the way of shots at goal putting his head in where it hurts, marauding forward in attack best defender we've got. Also put hobbsy back in with worrall , mancienne looking a bit flimsy at the moment play four at the back and work the rest of the formation around that. 442 at least in home games. We need start getting a more regular 11 instead of chop changing a more settled 11 get too know each other better and get more experience in game time. can't stand this play one player one week then replace him the next, no good boys and girls.

Clough is god

1.) 23 Oct 2017 03:20:34
Totally agree clough. Absolute outrage at the way eric has been treated. I used to think he lacked something as a defender but when you compare his mobility tenacity and passion, coupled with his intesity in the tackle to what is in the rest of the warburtkn squad it beggars belief. I also have been saying that mancienne is weak, chasing shadows and lacks power and desire for a central defender.

2.) 23 Oct 2017 07:22:13
He was player of the season last year and if he gets a good run in the team, he'll be player of the season again this year. Different class to Darikwa. But it seems Warbo has his favourites and I can't see that contract coming any time soon.

3.) 23 Oct 2017 09:40:45
So is Darikwa injured?

No he is as rested for the last 2 games by our manager.

Am I missing something or did Mark Warburton pick Lichaj for the last 2 games?

We now have 2 very good options at right back. I hope Lichaj stays and again I am sure I have heard Mark Warburton state the club want him to stay.

Lichaj is actually a better full back now because Mark Warburton is encouraging him to get forward more.

4.) 23 Oct 2017 10:33:39
Wishey the point is that eric should never have been 2nd to dawrikwa and players like velios cold shouldered for youth with potential. But its warburtons choice and he will survive or founder on HIS decisions

5.) 23 Oct 2017 10:56:43
I know the point being made I just don’t agree.

There is a disturbing trend on these pages of making out that Mark Warburton does not know what he is doing. That trend has been seen only too often in recent years and ends with a call for the Chairman to sack the manager.

Darikwa is a good full back who as with Players like Carayol and Vellios before him he needs time to settle into the club. If god forbid Eric gets injured before Saturday, we will be glad we have Darikwa.

I could even make a case for playing both Lichaj and Darikwa on the right.

Our mixture of young home grown talent and astute signing has us with the strongest squad in a long time.

If I was a manager with an eye for man management I would be praising Darikwa after his replacement has just been rightly voted man of the match.

As I said earlier something is motivating Lichaj to play out of his skin. In our present mood of manager bashing we don’t want to think that Mark Warburton has anything to do with making Lichaj a better player.

6.) 23 Oct 2017 11:26:18
Good post wishey,many valid points

7.) 23 Oct 2017 12:32:15
I think Lichaj missed the start of the season because of the USA qualifiers and was a bit behind everyone else.

If he carries on playing like he did on Sat and remains injury free then I would expect him to be no.1 for that position but people will be rested when were playing 3 games in 8 days.

8.) 23 Oct 2017 12:44:45
I agree to disagree here wishey. Warburton is being bashed for valid reasons. I think most want him to succeed, me included but he has made some strange decisions. That is his perogative. But as this is a great forum for fans to have their say its fair to say that warbs leaves himself wide open for fair criticism. I won't bore you with the list but he is a strange one. Btw i think darikwa had a knock so watbs was forced to make the change.

9.) 23 Oct 2017 13:21:30
It is most definitely a forum for opinions. Although the mighty Ed does have a powerful role in that.

Mark Warburton took over a team that escaped relegation on goal difference. Eric Lichaj was very much part of that team. He iwas rightly named player of the season. Did we need another right back? Yes we did. Was Lichaj dropped at the beginning of the season, no he was not. He came back from international duties and was behind others in pre season preparation.

Praising Darikwa after Eric’s performance on Saturday was a brilliant piece of man management. Keeping the players who are not in the team is key to our future success.

The purchase of Darikwa has made Eric a better player.

The character assassination of managers is insipid. It starts by dropping his Christian name, then we get the derogatory nickname like ‘the breadman’ We also get posts from the so called ‘come in peace Rangers fans’

Mark Warburton is a very intelligent man. He is trying to turn a crippled club around. He is trying to play football and he is giving younger players a chance. He can only pick 11 in the team and 18 in the squad. We are never all going to agree with his selections, it’s about opinions. But it is time our supported trusted someone and stopped talking the man and his team down.

10.) 23 Oct 2017 13:56:09
Well said whishey, bit of patience is required.

11.) 23 Oct 2017 14:31:17
Great passion wishey good points, i think mainly you are right. Sold to me so the slate is clean bring on hull😃😃😃

12.) 23 Oct 2017 20:32:57
Give eric a place each time and a new contract.
Please breadman listen to us you know it makes sense.

13.) 23 Oct 2017 20:36:11
Wishey please enlighten, do you think warburton knows what he's doing?
Lichaj is one of best players and wears his heart on sleave and never misses a beat.
I feel he played out of his skin for 2 reasons; to show the manager he is and should be first choice and 2nd because he plays for passion and for his club.

Does warburton utilise the best players at his disposal and in the players natural position?

Does his passing the ball from the back really work? forest are not Barcelona and only a handful of players in the squad have the skill set to do this.
Also do you agree on squad rotation each week?

I appreciate team members get injured etc but to solidify and gel a team cohesion is needed. As the old saying goes too many chefs spoil the broth!

14.) 23 Oct 2017 21:54:21
Not my place to enlighten anyone!

I give my opinion and I am glad Mark Warburton is our manager.

I am glad he is trying to play football from the back, yes! If only a handful of players are happy playing football, then we have the wrong players. I suspect that we have more players happy to pass the ball than you think. Mark Warburton has had one transfer window to change a side that stayed up on goal difference. And our top goal scorer left in that window and made it clear he wanted the move.

I am glad he has a squad and not just 11 first team players. I have also made it clear that at times part of our problem is that some fans are part of the problem.

Good Clubs and teams are built, which is harder to do than it seems on Xbox

15.) 23 Oct 2017 23:01:30
Your on fire today whishey.
Some great points.

16.) 24 Oct 2017 10:57:56
I think the football is absolute garbage to watch like really really painful. It would be great to see how much of the possession we get is in our own half and how quickly we Surrender possession in final third. What I see is loads of tippy tappy in our own half and the ball is given away as soon as we progress forward in many cases. That said though I absolute agree with the statement above that he’s had one window to sort out this mess give it time. As long as we are no where near the relegation zone I’m happy to watch us slowly progress

17.) 24 Oct 2017 12:33:22
Some good points wishey.
Every team has a squad but a regular
Team with regular players in my opinion is needed.
As some people think i want Warburton
Gone this is incorrect.
I want him to succeed but some of decisions and tactics seem at times strange?
I don't need to reiterate my views again.
The eric situation needs addressing asap and his contract should of been sorted before he went to the states.
Forest need him to shore up our weak defence.

19 Jul 2017 17:02:19
So we bern linked with camerone jerome for 6 million apparently. Not the sort of striker with a lot of consistency over the years but again could just be lazy journalism.

Clough is god

1.) 19 Jul 2017 17:43:19
He is not worth the money. Things have gone quiet on possible incoming transfers.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 17:49:40
Norwich are getting rid because he's one of the highest earners why would we pay him stupid wages when we've just sold a good striker whom wanted better wages its paper talk we will be in for every tom dick and harry going.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 17:50:13
I hope not, 6 million is a lot for a 30 year old striker who is not a prolific goal scorer. I reckon Lewis Grabban could do a job for us, probably would be available on the cheap maybe even on loan like he was with Reading last season.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 18:07:55
Not worth 1m. 30 years old never done much.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 18:07:56
Please not grabban. He did nothing at Norwich nothing at Bournemouth on his return and nothing at reading on loan. I would be happy with Jerome but sounds expensive.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 18:31:01
Marco, how come Assombalonga was worth £15 million but a player that has played premier league football and scored more goals last season than Assombalonga is only worth £1 million?

7.) 19 Jul 2017 18:59:58
Because ba is 24 not 30, in striker terms 30 is getting on a bit.

8.) 19 Jul 2017 19:06:13
They want rid for a reason.

9.) 19 Jul 2017 19:15:43
Red James, how many goals did Zlatan score last year in the premiership? If 30 is getting on abit what do you class a 35yr old?

10.) 19 Jul 2017 20:27:33
You can't compare Zlatan with Jerome, won't matter anyway looks like Murphy is signing for 2 million at only 34 years young.

07 May 2017 21:51:34
At least fawaz has the decency to apologise for his time at the club and wish us all the best . He tried and wanted the best for us but it ended horribly wrong for him. So fair play for his apologies and thanks for trying I'm sure he meant well even if didn't seem like it sometimes. Think we need to draw a line under it now and hopefully look forward to a brighter better future.

Clough is god

1.) 07 May 2017 22:48:15
Agree. He wanted us to do well. He also wanted glory and cash. Not a cheap exercise and poorly executed but how many others have failed at premiership glory.

After today we are in no worse state and I will say thank you for a cracking bunch of young players who have been allowed a chance.

Frying pan fire is my only worry but hey. we go again.

2.) 08 May 2017 05:58:37
It is all very well saying sorry, but is he really.

He hired people then ignored their advice, he was not late paying bills every now and again but regularly.

He was not learning from his mistakes, what made it worse for me is how he thought we are all idiots, thinking we would believe his propaganda.

When you enter into a enterprise you know nothing about you employ people with goid standing in that field to both advise you, and help to run it along with you. He blatantly refused to do that.

So it is just another speech full of rhetoric.

3.) 08 May 2017 09:48:53
Even his apology was egotistical tho.

4.) 08 May 2017 11:24:57
Doesn't really matter now does it, he's as good as gone. Seasons over, some things to look forward to.

5.) 08 May 2017 13:47:05
Well said 'Clough is God' Totally agree, he thought he could probably run the club just like his previous club in Kuwait without realizing the enormity of the club and the English game.

I for one am looking forward to a half time Donner next season.

6.) 08 May 2017 20:27:52
I know let's horse whip him through crowded streets C.

7.) 08 May 2017 21:42:35
Another brilliant article in yesterday's Observer by Forest fan and chief sports writer Daniel Taylor on the debacle that is FAH s ownership of our famous club, with similar pieces on the fall of Blackburn and Birmingham obviously penned before the last relegation spot was decided. Recommended "Lest we forget" who's fault this all is!

8.) 09 May 2017 14:48:47
Hey at least Fawaz bought his cheaper balls from Asda and did not line Mike Ashley's pockets with Sports Diect gear. Credit where it's due. #fawazout.

9.) 09 May 2017 18:22:39
What is George's last name.

01 Apr 2017 20:04:48
You got to love Cohen and I always say shame Vaughan is not always fit. him and Cohen first names on team sheet without question. Love their passion fight and genuine love for everything that is nottingham forest. will never have a bad word to say about either player.

Clough is god

1.) 01 Apr 2017 20:57:39
The carp on here that I've seen posted about Cohen is mind blowing. he's had some very poor comments made towards him on this forum. he is a credit to the club. goves 100% and we play a lot better with him in the team.

2.) 01 Apr 2017 21:26:55
Uptheforest

Nobody doubts Cohen's ability, commitment, energy, or how he improves the team, people just want the lad to get over his injury problems and play more.

If i were to be as unlucky as Cohen with injuries, therefore having two thirds of the year off from work how long do you think before my bosses would lose patience and went through the procedure of getting rid of me.

I'm sure nobody dislikes Cohen, some like myself just get frustrated at missing everything that Cohen is capable of producing as a result of his injuries.

Where would we be if he could stay fit for longer periods of the season.

3.) 01 Apr 2017 22:00:02
Both of them are absolute class. However, they can only maintain an outstanding level of performance playing one game a week.

We need to sign a couple of experienced CM out of contract in the summer and keep these 2 to play with the youngsters and only then we can sustain a challenge for promotion.

4.) 01 Apr 2017 22:27:47
Redinexile

You mean can only play one game a week, if lucky.

If we were to sign two experienced CMs that were able to play regularly at a high level of quality, then it would be unfair to drop them for another player other than for injury, suspension or lack of form.

5.) 01 Apr 2017 22:49:27
I can not believe anybody doubts Cohen's ability, or dislikes him.

Shame on you.

6.) 01 Apr 2017 23:11:03
Agreed but we are always plagued by injuries so you need strength in midfield to protect the defence over a season. Forest consistently lose games in midfield where the modern game is won!

7.) 02 Apr 2017 14:55:46
Red, we've been consistently losing games in midfield for years starting with the megson era. We then started to win games in midfield with Cohen, McKenna and Anderson. Then again with Reid, Cohen and Vaughan, since then every season has been the same and we've seen game after game where we look weak, overrun and devoid of creativity or telling forward pass. The sad thing is we've had decent players in other areas who have not reached their full potential because of the inadequacy of the midfield.

8.) 03 Apr 2017 08:55:04
Red: we have Yates and Edser to come through from the under 21s yet and others still in the under 18s. We might not need to be buying in from other clubs.

18 Mar 2017 18:33:06
Don't you just love these late goals against derby. been to a few of these games and seeing the sight of those direby fans jumping up and down celebrating goals really sticks in the throat.

Plenty to do still but we got a chance looking like third bottom decided between 4 or 5 clubs. Feel sorry for velios reminds of OliverIa works hard chips in with a few goals probably gud for 15 plus a season but has been forgotten.

Why pay is it half of mcormacks wages when he just isn't the same player any more a waste of time really . Britt needs to go on the bench and come back sharper next season and I wudnt have any trouble playing velios and Brereton up front.

Clough looks like a gem of a player kind of like well clough junior or a teddy Sheringham . Think a mass clear out Is needed including sum players who I think have been thru so much with forest probably need a new challenge to kick start their careers.

Will be nice to see us buy players rather than keep loaning em in lost count of how many players we've had in the last few seasons.

Clough is god

1.) 19 Mar 2017 07:03:44
Can't understand people who say mccormack isn't the same player, he hasn't had a run of games to get to know the players properly. a run of games then we can judge him on how he's doing.

2.) 19 Mar 2017 07:57:23
Well up the forest regarding mccormack all i have seen from him is a missed penalty and him shooting twice over the bar! paying a lot of money just for that.

3.) 19 Mar 2017 09:14:44
Thought he did well when he came on yesterday.
Some need to get over this obsession with his wage.
Agree with utf. Run of games needed.

4.) 19 Mar 2017 11:27:24
Can't we just give people a chance before we write them off. Surely in our current plight we'd rather have McCormack than not?

5.) 19 Mar 2017 13:21:51
We don't exactly have a run of games left to see if mcormack can still cut it. Have to play players in best form now. If we were higher up the table I would agree.

6.) 19 Mar 2017 15:02:17
Redfin,2 questions. How many games would you class as a run? And who would you say is in best form?
Not having a go, just interested.

Also nice too read we have won more home games in 2017 than any other championship teams. Small victories but hopefully it will lead to one big victory and give us promotion in the next couple seasons. Just got to sort out picking up away points starting at bristol city, tuff game but all games are winnable otherwise wats the point in playing

Tuff game cig but I think looking at. Results week in week out every game for every one is tuff a draw would be a good result but I think we can beat them if we're at our best

2.) 13 Dec 2017 17:07:57
How true Skegsjay, who gave us a chance against the likes of Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, and in the cup Newcastle.

Shaggers just over 271,000 THE MIGHTY REDS just over 319,000. got to admit i had my doubts but it should never be in question THE MIGHTY REDS will always be bigger and attract more fans and viewers. let's hope we stuff em at the CG .

Just a thought i wonder wat marikinas is thinking now or if warbo is getting a bit twitchy. Agsin i don't think sacking warbo will do us any gud our consistency along with lots of clubs has been dire for years. But in todays fairy land of football managers are sacked if they fart wrong. i'd see wat happens in january if we sitting mid table then and the season carries as it is now then he'll at least get one season. Trouble is boys and girls who do we get in I've heard plenty of get him out remarks but not too many on who we should get in. when it does happen its always the same names mentioned even with players we should bring in ( i'm THINKING MARCO 123 ) sorry pal no disrespect meant. i'm all for the way we as a club are now thinking ie structure inolve fans, nuture young players , sign them on long term contracts ect yes behind the scenes A+ but warbo gottta get these players fighting, turn them into a Stuart Pearce. At least he said yestetday wasn't gud enuff. We all divided on here but i think if he could get that simple balance right he'll do just fine , its if he can do it tho. Ps please if fit put hobbsy in a central defensive partnership is a must.

Murphys record not that great 60 odd goals in 200 games. Maybe he's more of a feeder to the front man. Maybe he's like kevin campbell ian wright said he liked playing with campbell because he got in the way of defenders allowing wrighty space to run in and score. To be honest if we get a striker would like to see someone at least capable of scoring 15 odd goals in the championship.

Just goes to show how much influence Sir Clough had at forest or evenly the deadly duo of Clough and Taylor. Wonder if we'll get stablity this season or will the merry ground continue.
