I think there are too many detractors of young Nigel's managerial career. He has proved very adept at managing clubs and taking them forward on little to no budget. Given the right environment he will do very well at Forest.

1.) 28 Jan 2017 20:25:33
Previous records are no indication of how things will turn out in the next job. The Dutchman that Mourinio has replaced proves that.

2.) 28 Jan 2017 21:27:09
No matter who the next manager is their biggest problem is going to be fawaz, I hope it is clough not for his history with the club but the fact his teams are hard to beat and he gets 100% out of his players but given our situation I wouldn't come unless he has it in writing unless fawaz comes through for once.

3.) 28 Jan 2017 23:33:02
Deadeye you are quite correct. Until the poison has been removed from our once great club it is immaterial which manager eventually takes over the reins. If Clough has any sense he will see through Fawaz's Bull and stay at Burton.

4.) 29 Jan 2017 12:02:05
Deep down Nigel knows he has taken Burton as far as he can, that is the only reason I can see him coming to Forest. Personally if I was him I would stay at Burton. He will never get anywhere near to what his dad achieved.

Just to put some perspective into all the doom and gloom going on what if by some chance we get a result against Millwall and beat Leeds and end up in the top six at the start of the New Year. I think everyone would have taken that at the start of the season and too many on here have forgotten what AK inherited and the appalling tippy tappy rubbish Warburton wanted us to play.

1.) 29 Dec 2018 10:30:00
Just to put a fact into your ifs and what ifs Bolton in the bottom 3 are as near to us as we are to Leeds we are clinging to the bottom end of the play off places by our finger tips 2 or 3 dodgy results could see us slip out of contention, these next 2 games are vital , it’s easy to see why the owner is twitching, any chance of automatic has already gone and that’s where I believe the owner expected us to be fighting it out

2.) 29 Dec 2018 10:39:56
That boring tippy teppy foitball was down to the crap he inherited as well i don't know how fans can compare lol i think mw had something like 5 million to spend and ak had 20 odd million and 17 new players and still the football can be crap to watch as I've said before it will be down to the owner what ever happens and i will back him in whatever decision he makes top 6 is the least he expects from a manager that he has backed over to you krankie 😆

3.) 29 Dec 2018 10:47:03
Was that the tippy tappy football that beat QPR four nil?
How did the karanka style do a year later?
You can't say there any improvement there.

4.) 29 Dec 2018 14:35:51
The top 2 are out of reach now and keeping them within touching distance was crucial for us. Leaving the lottery of the play off places is not really the foundation for promotion. Not my instructions but from the Greek. We are a few defeats from lower mid table and a few wins from hanging onto the playoffs. If it is AK'S 2 AND a hakf year plan then its working but in reality its promotion this year. Crazy I feel but that was the remitt

26 Dec 2018 17:20:08
What was Dias doing with two powder puff challenges giving away possession for the last 2 goals, appalling mistakes and what a 2 points thrown away!

1.) 26 Dec 2018 17:27:41
Is he one of the players that's on his bike, Janko not much better and Darikwa did his best to give a goal away

2.) 26 Dec 2018 17:32:05
Watson and Osborn on the bench and our idiot manager brings Dias on?
For his pace going forward at 3.1 up when we need to be solid and close the game out?

3.) 26 Dec 2018 18:00:28
Think Dias was probably the least man suited to the task of seeing that game out , what a strange decision

04 Nov 2018 11:24:59
Had to miss the Sheffield game but how good is it that we are winning close matches and looking solid at the back. Too many seem to have forgotten that Clough and Taylor built Forest on being very hard to beat with a counter attacking style. Whilst we don't have a Robertson or a Shilton, as yet, a lot of the other pieces are slowly falling into place.

1.) 04 Nov 2018 23:05:10
Well said Tyke.

After all the years of under achieving some on here have rose tinted specs on how Forest teams of old played to be successful and moan about not being entertained?

They forget that when you start winning regularly and not conceding goals that builds confidence to play better. However, you are always going to come up against teams where you have to grind out results. This season is going to be harder than most as the league is arguably the most competitive ever?

Slowly but surely our goals against column is becoming one of the best and our goals for is creeping in the right direction.

Onward & Upward!

2.) 05 Nov 2018 09:00:02
Yep rose tinted glasses 2 Euro cups league title 4 league cups euro super cup etc etc lol all built on counter attack PACEY counter attack 1holding midfielder, that’s right no shilton or robbo also no woodcock, gemmill,o’neill, withe ,etc don’t compare Ak s tactics to clough’s who’s teams were a lot of other fans ‘2nd team because of the attractive way they played the game

3.) 05 Nov 2018 11:08:42
Redinexile Have a look at how cloughs team counter attacked at old Trafford when they beat them 4, Leeds away 1st leg league cup semifinal beat them 4 ,contrast that to how Ak sets up , and to say cloughs team didn’t entertain is an insult

4.) 05 Nov 2018 10:56:14
Stevie, You do not play attractive football from a standing start which is where we are as a club. Stop the goals build from the back and then upgrade the quality to play a more expansive game.
Not comparing AK directly with OBE but we are on the right track at last!

5.) 05 Nov 2018 11:24:30
Redinexile ok mate point taken I am actually happy with the steady progress just hope this season can at last be the 1!

6.) 05 Nov 2018 11:54:58
I believe the problem forest have at the minute is getting the ball up through midfield to the forwards quick enough, the play is not that bad but passing at times is far to slow and to many punts over the tops.talking of punts or more to the point kicks from our keeper Mr Pants i counted 16 kicks off the floor or from his hands on Saturday not one found a red shirt. Either we are not trying to win the ball hard enough,or.his kicking really is PANTS

01 Jan 2018 22:59:08
Best defensive performance, supported by Bridcutt's best game since he joined, energy from both Osborne and Cash making us look solid for the first time this season. Long may it continue!

31 Dec 2017 20:20:37
I think Warburton was a bit clueless and our defence at times was non existent. All good teams are built from the back and that simple but basic fact was simply ignored, with consequential results. About time some of the comments on here were tempered with some reality that we are in relegation form and have been for weeks now and it could not continue.

Well this will be a true test of how the club react and also keep its supporters informed. Much was made of building bridges and getting the fan base on side, now the Chairman et al will have to earn their money. Karanka has been in a sulk for a while, none of us know why. If I had a choice I would give young Nigel a go, he’s done wonders without a budget and I believe he would do very well at Forest.

To say that we did not deserve anything against Brum is the most crass comment I have read, anyone at the game would know we should have been 4 up at half time. If we can get Tobias and Dawson back on the park we will be challenging for a play off place especially if we can add a couple of players in the transfer window and then it’s down to the playoffs and I would back AK to get us through. There is a desire and team spirit that we have not had for many seasons. Long may it continue.

You obviously sleepwalked through the past couple of seasons where relegation has been a reality and promotion light years away?

So how many goals did Burke score for us?
