Good article from Ian Ladyman. Identifies for the issues with Dycheball and why we are heading for the trap door. One dimensional football - impossible to argue with his observations.

Yes Gold stars just watch it unfold. Dino ball is in full cry, yet certain folk think he's wonderful. This man will set us back years if we don't get rid. A wasted season this year will double down every year until he's sacked.

I'm not a great Dyche fan but he is our coach till further notice and he will try to get us up the table to suggest that he is purposely and his lack of credibility will get us demotion is a bit rich, He has come in to do a job whether he is good enough or successful is out of our hands just get behind him till he moves on, and Mr M will move him on that's a given because we are one of those clubs who have the backing of a owner who can't help interfering and its that fact that could put us down eventually.

Gold stars, please pardon my ignorance, but who is Ian Ladyman and where can I find his article to read?
When I first saw the surname I thought he was just something a bit exotic from Thailand mate……??????.

Read the article, intelligently, respectfully and well written, Ladyman (who’s a Forest fan by the way ) points out the facts that highlight the reasons why we find ourselves in deep trouble and unable to score goals.

I'm not sure what dyche ball is, but if it exists it worked against Liverpool spurs and to a certain extent against Arsenal. So is it really that bad. Just wondering.

Yes I’m sure it’s all those things Gold Star. I’m just asking where I can find it to read it mate?

This nonsense about long ball tactics by SD just does not fit. It didn’t happen against Arsenal. On the contrary instead of going 5 at the back he brought on attacking players. They did not sit back but continued to go forward.
There have been many instances where playing out grom the back ( the corollary to a long ball ) can get players into trouble.

Do people consider that better than a goal keeper sending a ball deep into the opposing half or a defender clearing their lines. There is a place for both of course. I do not see evidence that SD encourages or discourages either.

Great post Nuno. I don’t know what so called Dyche ball is either mate. I’ve posted earlier if any of the “usual suspects “ can tell.
Look, I’m not saying we are 1970s Brazil or Cruyf s Holland or Ferguson s Man Utd. But we are not Crazy Gang Wimbledon or Pulis’s Stoke City ( due to my locale I saw a lot of that and it was a grim old watch I can tell you).
We are somewhere in between. Pragmatic, disciplined, organised ( on a good day) with considerable attacking flair at times ( Spurs, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Leeds ).

I can only think that the terms “ Dyche ball” and long ball lumpers are the product of flabby thinking left over from SD’s Burnley and Everton days. He has much better players and resources now at Forest and once he’s turned around the ?show he inherited, got a foundation of safety and had a bit longer than bloody 3 months we will see some very good football, like we are seeing in patches atm.

To be fair i want to see Dyche succeed, especially due to having Stone and Woan on the sidelines, just find it frustrating not playing to our forwards strengths at times. But all in all he's settled the ship, a few tweaks in this transfer window and i think we'll be in for a lot better second half of the season.

Particularly tricky away tie on Thursday and if we want to progress a point at least is needed. ?.

Winter that's nothing to do with dyche bud? He's just putting a strategy out. How many balls do we see wasted final 3rd? Be it cross, through the middle? Corners? Set pieces? Skegs/ balloons selling hats?

New York Times stoked. When the NEP was still an independent news paper he was the reds correspondent- late 80’s and 90’s I think. He went to one of the big uk papers after that. Good journalist with good football knowledge.

That rubbish show he inherited stokey was mostly the team that got us into Europe last season ? followed by 5 or 6 signings that cost over 200 million so wouldn't exactly call it a rubbish show inheritance. A good manager would sort this team out maybe not good enough for Europe but definitely a top 10. and I still can't work out dyche tactics and obviously the players are struggling with it to.

When we get good results against the "Big" teams, it might be down to having less possession, and muscle memory kicks in and how we played under Nuno.
